I did not buy a vehicle here, but I can tell you it would be the second to last place I would look for another Ford (Kinsel Ford-Beaumont being the very last). in my opinion, Planet Ford ("PF") is not the pl be the second to last place I would look for another Ford (Kinsel Ford-Beaumont being the very last). in my opinion, Planet Ford ("PF") is not the place you go if you are an educated person looking to make an educated decision. On day 1, I arrived in person and asked for someone REALLY knows something about the Ford super duties. Instead of leading me to such a person and perhaps working the deal jointly, the salesperson (Harold) represented that he was just such a person. However, he did not have a clue regarding facts that a person who actually knows about a vehicle would know. For example, he had no idea how much the disel emissions fluid ("DEF") costs, how far the truck can generally travel on a tank of DEF, etc.--nor did he offer to go find someone who did. However, Harold was a very nice salesperson and permitted me to inspect and drive an F-250 and an F-350. He was also very understanding with my intent to just use the experience as information-gathering. On day 2 of my experience, I traded a couple of phone calls with Harold, and I told him I would get pre-approval for a loan, line up insurance, etc. and call him back Monday. On Day 4 (Monday), I called the dealership three times, leaving messages for Harold. No response. On Day 5, I leave one more message. No response. On day 6 (Wednesday), I give up on PF and go to a competing Ford dealership. As I am working with them that day, I contact a sales manager directly at PF, who tells me that Harold has been fired (although later, another representative informed me that Harold quit, so who knows). Of course, none of the operators or other employees I spoke with on Monday and Tuesday told me that. This manager says that he will call me in 15 minutes. 30 minutes go by and still no phone call. So, I called PF again, and again I asked for a sales person who knows about Ford super duties. The operator just sends me to a random sales person. Again, I ask the salesperson for someone who knows about Ford super duties, and he says that he is such a person. This second salesperson knows that I am not just a "cold call" because I told him I had been in there with Harold and that I had spoken to the manager. This second salesperson keeps calling me by the wrong name ("Mike" and my name is "Ben") and promises to get me stock numbers on trucks that he thinks may possibly work. I never ask for promises over the phone, and I think that is fair. This second salesperson says he will in just a few minutes, and hours later I finally get them--after numerous additional requests. This second salesperson also tells me that he does not think it will be possible to work the numbers like I want. This actually suits me fine because I appreciate his honesty. After all, I don't have an issue with someone saving me hours of my time by just being upfront with me. Had our relationship ended there, I would not be writing this. But it is what comes next that warrants attention. Following the second salesperson's candid (and highly appreciated comment), I continue to work with the PF competitor and we come to terms on the numbers I wanted. I contacted the second salesperson at PF and thanked him for his candid remarks and informed him that I had reached a deal with the competitor and would just go that route. Suddenly, it was no longer impossible to reach my numbers. All I needed to do was drive all the way across town and give PF a shot in person. I thought about it long and hard and the cheapskate in me really contemplated going just in case I could actually beat the deal I already had. With all the red flags already raised, I decided to stick with what I had gotten, which is actually a very good deal. After all, one in the hand is worth two in the bush. Plus, based on the fact that PF had already stated they could not reach my figures, I determined that wasting four hours there would have been an exercise in futility. The reason I am giving PF a bad rating can be summed as follows: (1) when I asked for a salesperson with a particular knowledge regarding the product I did not get it; (2) when the salesperson I was working with quit/was fired, no one bothered to tell me voluntarily or when I called the dealership asking to speak with him; (3) my second salesperson was way to "wheeler-dealer" for me even though he initially (and probably honestly) said that PF would not be able to do the deal; and (4) the failure of PF employees to make call-backs and to supply information in the time frames promised. It's simply not a place I would risk using to make a $50,000+ automobile purchase. More
I was contacted by phone by a female to let me know the vehicle I was looking for was in. Was told the price on the internet was negotiable and they will work with me. After driving all the way out there, vehicle I was looking for was in. Was told the price on the internet was negotiable and they will work with me. After driving all the way out there, the salesmanager wanted to give me nothing for trade-in, way less than blue book and said they would not negotiate price of the vehicle!!! The time I had spent there was a waste. They did not want my business as they were so busy and I guess it didn't matter to them. I was very dissapointed and received way better treatment elsewhere! The worst car buying experience I have ever had. Planet Ford are huge crooks. Planet Ford will end up with the same results as the old Landmark dealership. The whole process from the bait and switch at Ford are huge crooks. Planet Ford will end up with the same results as the old Landmark dealership. The whole process from the bait and switch at the start to all the hidden fees at the end. If you love to waist time planet ford is your place. Andy More
I see many bad reviews over good ones but I must share my experience. I HATE buying new cars but Marcus paid attention and respected my "lack of patience" in ref to buying a new vehicle. I spoke with him experience. I HATE buying new cars but Marcus paid attention and respected my "lack of patience" in ref to buying a new vehicle. I spoke with him over the phone expressing I will not sit around and wait all day for this to transpire, nor do the back and forth" B.S.. He took down info, found the vehicle I wanted in the price range I wanted, etc. I went in after work on a Friday, drove one I wanted but when ready to take the next step I was told RR no longer works with the finanace company I was already approved thru and I figured it was over. Marcus introduced to me another gentlemen I can't remember his name and am sorry because he made the effort in telling me they could do better than the other finance company and keep all the numbers as requested so I said ok. I waited about 30 mins and told them if they needed more time I would leave and they could call me if everything came thru. WELL, I truly did not expect a phone call (maybe 2 hours later) much less being approved, getting my payments less than I budgeted, finance charge lowered and enought to pay off the last two payments on my previous vehicle!!! I was so excited my husband and went back to the dealer and spent maybe 45 mins waiting our turn with Mr. Sturgis to finalize all the documents while it was being washed and tags put on. And the last good item was my first payment was not due until Jan 14, 2013... waaa hooo, extra money for Christmas and bills. They truly did make this buying experience a good one. THANK YOU RANDALL REED HUMBLE. This is the 2nd time it went well at Randall Reed Humble. More
Classic bait and switch tactic. Advertised 1 price online through vast.com AND on their website. Changed the price on the website due to having 2 interested parties for the same vehicle. Shocked when shown t through vast.com AND on their website. Changed the price on the website due to having 2 interested parties for the same vehicle. Shocked when shown the price on vast then proceeded to come up with the excuse that " thats a cash price" despite it saying that NO WHERE on the listing. Im not surprised that this was what happened as ive had horrible experiences with dealerships in the past, but when the explanation for what happened was simply " everyone does it" meaning the actual verbal admissin that they did use a bait and switch is absurd. Save yourself time and go to carmax, excellent experiences. More
The experience went smooth at the beginning. We made a great deal on the car but I shouldn't have expected the dealer to actually to do what they said. The car just got off the truck and I saw it in "raw" great deal on the car but I shouldn't have expected the dealer to actually to do what they said. The car just got off the truck and I saw it in "raw" form. The front left of the white 2009 Malibu had a cracked bumper from a low speed impact and it went from top to bottom. The gear selector trim had a broken clip and would not set all the way down and could be lifted with a finger. The rear of the console had either a flap or cup holder assembly that was broke; there was remnants of it laying in the back. The interior and seats were filthy. Other than being dirty, I didn't mind any of this, simple fixes. The sales man Michael Peoples was real reassuring, as any typical sales man at a Stealership. He was leaving for vacation the day I signed papers and came in just to see me. Michael was so friendly because I do work at a credit union and explained he wanted to create a good relationship. After that Saturday (8-11-2012), I received a phone call that the car would be ready late Wednesday. As I was walking out the door to take one last look and test drive, the bumper wasn't fixed, the seats were still filthy, and every piece explained above was not fixed. The deal was off and this is ok except Michaels' conflict of interest put me in a bind because he bought my car cash with his business partner (fellow employee) in order to sell it for a personal profit. This was explained at his desk in low voices and his wife sneaking cash to us. The worst part is the GM, Chuck Kramer, refused to deal with the situation and stood up for this type of behavior. Watch out for the shady business happening here because they will say and do anything. Not to mention my Fiance's family is personal friends with Mr. Kramer's. Shows a lot about his character and the culture he supports in a business. More
CHUCK KRAMER THE PARTNER OWNER OF THIS DEALER SHIP TOLD ME TO MY FACE THAT I AM A USED CAR BUYER AND I MEAN NOTHING TO HIM. I AM NOT A SATISFIED CUSTOMER AND WILL NEVER DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THIS DEALER ME TO MY FACE THAT I AM A USED CAR BUYER AND I MEAN NOTHING TO HIM. I AM NOT A SATISFIED CUSTOMER AND WILL NEVER DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THIS DEALERSHIP AGAIN. I bought a 08 Nissan Pathfinder for $20,000 correct me if I'm wrong but that's a lot of money. My wife and I were expecting our third child in three days so we were looking for a much bigger vehicle than our 06 Honda civic with 70000 miles currently on it that we traded which was a Vehicle that was in perfect condition besides a small dent in the driver side door. So we test drove the Nissan Pathfinder and it drove wonderful, it was big and roomy with 3 roll seating and my wife and I loved it. But keep in mind it was like like 100 degrees out side so we didn't roll the windows down or even think to check them to make sure they worked. We didn't think to check the auto door Locks either or check the windshield wiper resivor that hel the wiper fluid which we found out later it had a huge hole in it and that's why no fluid was in there. The dash lights and tire pressure gadge were on but the sales person said, "I will make sure these gages are off before you drive this off the lot. OH Wait I forgot to mention that after we bought the car and drove off the lot. We realized the Nissan Pathfinder wasn't even inspected before it was sold to me. So I drove around for 2 days with out an inspection sticker or registrasticker or windows or door locks or wiper fluid. I then called the dealership to talk to my sells person Mr Peoples and asked him why after the fact that I purchased a 20,000 dollar vehicle I am realizing that there are things wrong with it. His response was, I didn't know or think to check for these issues, I assumed that the car was inspected and ready to go. Let me tell you something Mr people was the only carding and professional employee that worked there. I had no problem with him besides te fact he sold me a vehicle that he didn't know about. So I drove to the dealership to persnaly talked to the managers ERIC BARBOSA, ALLEN OWENS AND THE OWNER CHUCK KRAMER who were all total jerks ans didn't want to correct there mistakes or fix my vehicle. The owner told me to my face when I explained to him what was going on. " I will only fix the windows and nothing else because everything will be over 700 dollars to fix and I am not paying for that." I asked for a reason why he isn't fixing anything else and he said "this conversation is over and I am not doing anything else for you." THESE GUYS LOST A GREAT CUSTOMER FOR SURE!!!!! More
I purchased a new Ford Fusion from the Humble store four years ago for my mother in law. The purchase went exactly as I expected and she has never complained about any service issues from this location. A years ago for my mother in law. The purchase went exactly as I expected and she has never complained about any service issues from this location. And so it made good sense to return to Randall Reed's Humble location for the purchase of a new vehicle for my daughter. I used the wealth of the internet to research this purchase. In the end, we narrowed our selections to three cars including a 2012 Ford Escape LX. Mr. Richard Fuller answered my internet request. And then he did the impossible ... he found a number of LX vehicles in a market other Ford locations found empty (July is the model change month ... 2013's are out). He met my price expectations and demonstrated an impressive initiative to meet all my expectations. Unfortunately, my daughter absolutely desired a black exterior. And so Mr. Fuller found several black EX vehicles that approached our price expectations. Price and value were my criteria. My daughter was more interested in color, features and in the end, a different style. Although I wanted the Escape, she chose a different brand. The experience was a very good one for me. I will return to Randall Reed Ford Humble and seek the services of Mr. Richard Fuller for my next purchase (next year). More
