I was May 2009 at what I consider a fair price. The salesman Gary worked with me to arrive at a payment I had in mind when I went to the dealership. I was recommended to go to this dealership by my daugher who had bought 2 cars there and was very satisfied with the way she was treated by sales and service. I recently had my car serviced while I waited. Everyone was professional and even washed the car before they returned to me. I would recommed this Dealership highly both for sales and service. More
I’m writing to register with you my great disappointment with Ramsey Volvo. We have been Volvo customers for 2 years, having first leased an XC70 from Kundert Volvo. That car was loaded with BLIS, Naviga with Ramsey Volvo. We have been Volvo customers for 2 years, having first leased an XC70 from Kundert Volvo. That car was loaded with BLIS, Navigation system, Premium, Collision Avoidance, Convenience and Climate packages. When the lease ran out, we chose to buy a new XC70, deciding to not pay extra for some of these features. We turned to Ramsey Volvo, where General Sales Manager Frank Benedict sold us our car. At the time, the car with the Park Assist feature (part of the Convenience package), which we wanted to have, was not available. He suggested that rather than paying for the $1,200 Volvo Park Assist, he could install a similar system, which was “exactly the same but twice as cheap”. Mr. Benedict explained that this was not a genuine Volvo feature, but repeated that “it is exactly the same as Volvo.” Answering our questions about such big price difference, he added that the only difference is that sensors are black, not metallic. We were happy that we could pay less for the “exactly the same” feature and we made a deal with Mr. Benedict for the new vehicle. A week later the vehicle was delivered with paperwork signed by Stan Rosen. Unfortunately when we started using the new vehicle we realized that the Park Assist feature was far from “the same as Volvo” as Mr. Benedict promised: (1) It only had a rear function (instead of front and rear as we were led to believe) (2) The rear Park Assist had only 2 censors, instead of the 4 as on our previous vehicle (3) The system did not work as it was supposed to. In addition it did not integrate with display on the control panel, did not have on/off switch and was only engaging while backing up - all this was far from “the same as Volvo”, but these features we were considering as minor and didn’t discuss. When we addressed our concerns later to Mr. Rosen, he could not answer our questions and referred us back to Mr. Benedict, who actually made a deal with us and was anything but helpful. When I tried to tell him that the system he sold me was nothing like what he promised, he brusquely replied that “All cars coming from factory have only rear Park Assist” (does he know what he sells?) and did not want to hear me out when I explained that my previous vehicle had both a front and rear Park Assist. In a follow up conversation with Mr. Benedict, when I again tried to explain that his Park Assist system had only 2 sensors, rather than the full 4, Mr. Benedict was very aggressive and defensive. He showed no desire to hear what I was saying and continuously interrupted me with the phrase, “you wanted a cheaper one and this is what you got”. I have never before heard that kind of tone from anyone working with customers, especially from sales manager with 28 years in business, as he once mentioned. While I had the car in the shop to fix the system, I spoke with Service Manager Ken Goss, who was polite and professional. He explained that all decisions were made by the sales staff, meaning that I came full circle, back to Mr. Benedict. In the end, I felt that I was lied to and treated very poorly. I also had no use for the half-baked Park Assist, which I ended up with. When I inquired about removing it altogether, Mr. Goss told me that it would cost me $500 to do so, meaning that I would be refunded $100 out of $600 I already spent on the system. In summary, I am surprised and disappointed by the treatment that I received at Ramsey Volvo - not only the dishonest and rude treatment from Mr. Benedict, but also a lack of any way to remove the Park Assist without a penalty. This whole saga left me feeling like I made a big mistake doing any business with Ramsey Volvo. I came to Ramsey Volvo willing to pay for what I like but ended up with the system I don’t like and don’t want. More
We were looking for a long time for a car and Ramsey Volvo gave us the best price and worked with what we were looking for. We corresponded through email towards the end and we had many questions. Service and parts departments are top notch. Always quick and friendly. Scheduling is a breeze. Parts stock and pricing are also very good, usually as good or better than other dealerships in the area. Servi and friendly. Scheduling is a breeze. The sales process went fine, until the day I went to pick up my car. On final inspection, my wife and I noticed the drivers side wiper blade was torn, and that there was a split in the rear bumper. When we up my car. On final inspection, my wife and I noticed the drivers side wiper blade was torn, and that there was a split in the rear bumper. When we pointed this out to our salesman, he told us not to worry. He told us that when we came in for our plates, he would have service replace the wiper blade, and have them see if the bumper could be repaired. If not, they would replace it. While I was hesitant to take the car, he told me Ramsey Volvo would make it right. A week or so later I was notified by email that my plates were in. I sent the following email: On Mon, 8/2/10, niles moser wrote: From: niles moser Subject: Re: Ramsey Volvo To: gparker@ramseyvolvo.com Date: Monday, August 2, 2010, 2:34 PM Actually she did not. I'm tied up all day tomorrow. I'll come in on Wed.. I'll also need to have the wiper blade put on, and have someone look at the damaged rear bumper. What would be a convenient time? Niles Moser After not receiving a response, I left a telephone message for my salesman. Again, I did not receive a response. The following day my wife went to pick up the plates, and have the previously mentioned issues dealt with. When she got there she was told that my salesman was not there, but that the used car manager would help her. She told me the manager was rude, and told her to make an appointment to have her issues addressed. She made an appointment for Aug. 24th. On the 24th I took the car in. Service replaced the wiper blades, but told me there was nothing they could about the bumper. They told me it was not split, but was "just" a separation where the two parts of the bumper were joined. When I explained to the service rep. that my salesman said they would replace it if it could not be fixed, he went to speak to someone about it. When he returned he told me they were not going to replace it. As I was leaving, I asked the service rep. how much would it cost me to replace the lower portion of the bumper. He told me around $200. The $200 that Ramsey Volvo saved itself has ensured that I will never have my car serviced at Ramsey Volvo, and that I will never recommend Ramsey Volvo to anyone interested in buying a Volvo. I have worked on wall street for 25 years. The first thing I was taught was that your word is your bond. That means you do what you tell someone you are going to do. If you don't, they will not do business with you again. My mistake was assuming the words of my salesman were his bond. More
