Mr. Gaillard, What you are neglecting to mention to the public are the circumstances of your situation. You currently owe $30282.00 on a vehicle that is worth less then $19,000 in the current market. You are looking to purchase a $39590. Maxima 3.5SV and you have just about 6% available to use as a down payment. The issue you have is not with Ramsey Nissan. Our price on the Maxima for you, sir, was rock bottom. Heck, Ill give you the car under cost. Should you allow this review to go public, you will leave us no choice but to tell the truth and details of your situation, It is the banks and their lending guidelines that are keeping you from getting a Maxima. You are staring at over $12,000. of negative equity on your Altima. With $2500. down, you are rolling just over $9000.00 into your next loan, plus taxes, plus state motor vehicle fees and bank interest. This is forcing a payment beyond your expecations. What you should be explaining to the public is that the last Nissan dealer you went to left you in a financially horrible situation on your current vehicle. Not the fault of Ramsey Nissan. That being said, I welcome you, Gerard, to call me personally and come meet with me so I can explore all your options at this point. I noticed that we did not process a credit application for you. Give me 30 minutes of your time here at the store to pull your credit, appraise your '09 Altima and I will extend every courtesy to make this work for you, if your credit and budget allow it. Sincerely, -John Creran Ramsey Nissan General Sales Manager (201) 825-4040

What you are neglecting to mention to the public are the financial circumstances of your situation. You currently owe $30282.00 on a 2010 Base Model Altima 2.5S that carries an MSRP of $22,755.00. As a used car with the mileage you have driven, the vehicle is worth less then $19,000 in the current market. You are looking to purchase a $39590. Maxima 3.5SV Premium Tech and you have just about 6% available to use as a down payment, which does not even cover the sales tax on a vehicle of that caliber. The issue you have is not with Ramsey Nissan. Our price on the Maxima for you, sir, was rock bottom. Heck, we offered you the car under cost to help your situtation. The public should also know you are budgeted to have a payment of $380/mo on a $40,000 vehicle, plus state taxes, plus bank interest and plus the $11,000 of negative equity you have on your current Altima. The public can now figure out that your situation is not plausible by any means. What you should be explaining to the public is that the last Nissan dealer you went to left you in a devastating financial situation on your current vehicle. Like you said, you DID NOT buy the car you are buried in from us here at Ramsey Nissan. That being said, we welcome you, Gerard, to meet with us again. The public should also know you gave us 25 minutes to appraise your vehicle, test drive the Maxima you desire, run your credit, get the current pay-off and try to rationally explain to you the position you are in. 25 minutes is just enough time to eat a descent lunch, not make a major purchase and secure a loan for $50,000. You are still welcome to visit us at any time. We do sell and service more cars then the dealership that did this to you. We are also 2009 winners of the Nissan Owner's First Award which less then 2% of Nissan dealers qualify for. Perhaps now you understand why. //RN

Stephen, I can not believe for one moment you could put in a review like this. If you want this to go public, we have no problem with that. It is clear by your prose the world will see where this comes from. Be advised, we have the right to respond to this publically, and we will have no hesitation to tell everyone the truth about your journey, your trade, your deal and, of course, your lack of accountability. Not one, not two but THREE close up photographs of the original white Murano S you came in on, you did not notice the radio? The public is aware that automation exists and mistakes are made on vehicle options. Unfortunately, it happens on a daily basis at dealerships around the world. Not only did we step up on the Grand Prix as a trade in, though you did not disclose in your original phone conversation several significant issues, but I dropped down to a wholesale price on the Murano you DID purchase. You ended up with a Murano SL package AWD With Backup Camera and Sunroof at your numbers. I am asking kindly that you remove your rating. Not only is it immature on your part, but your comments are libelous and we will forward them to the authorities for review and we will not hesitate to press charges. Sincerely, //Ramsey Nissan

Upon further review of my statement I have revised it to meet a professional standard where my emotions cannot control how I really feel. Even as I review the website you still have the car I wanted posted. Glacier Pearl Murano with leather, bose, sunroof, and heated seats for $19,761. If it was a typo then that would be fixed right away if you were honest about it. I WANT THAT CAR!!!!!! I got this car because I made the trip and did not want the disappointed trip home. If my feelings are immature to you, they are honest to every other car buyer who goes through this. Your immaturity shows through deception of your website and it even continues a week after it was pointed out. That car I mention in the article is the one I saw and the one I wanted. Apparently its still up for sale for other people to purchase. The following section is the letter that I will post... I am from King of Prussia and I was looking for a Nissan Murano with some bells and whistles. In a 100-mile radius the best prices were Ramsey Nissan and a dealership in Brooklyn. Since Ramsey was closer, I figured that I would go there. The drive was 2.5 hours away so I made sure I did everything I could to have a very easy experience (no bull). I called the dealership and talked to Sammy, who was great on the phone and getting my information. Sammy asked me my mileage, VIN number, year, make, model and features of the car. He then later called me back and said I was approved for a loan, my car checked out, and asked me what time I could be there. All I had to do was show up and test drive the car because that car I saw on the Internet was on the lot... Well...I drove up 2.5 hours and met Sammy. Good attitude in the beginning and I was pleased to see he wanted to help me. We test-drove a car that was the same color but not the same specs as stated on the Internet. So after the test drive I asked him where the Bose system was and the other bells that came with the car. He stated that this car does not have it but it is the same car from the Internet. I disagreed and had him go onto Ramsey's website at which I pointed out to him the features that the website claimed to have. Http://ramseynissan.com/vehicle/details/JN8AZ08W97W626175 was the website that I went on and viewed the car. I also took the photo of the actual web page to ensure the car was the same I was going to see. The car on the website said it had heated seats, leather interior, sunroof, and a Bose stereo system. He pulled the dumb card and said that it was a typo from the guy who posts the cars on the web. At that point in the conversation I saw two things. First, Sammy had deceived me by saying the car was on the lot and he had verified over the phone the car had the specs I wanted. The second was after all I gave to him to make this deal honest and easy, that he still wants to screw me over. I have been shopping for awhile and sat with multiple dealers who have had the car disappear on their lot before I got there, had it go to the shop from when I called to the time I arrived, or the manager was driving it and he or she was not in at the time. So please, at least have car salesmen wear a shirt that says, "I cannot give you an honest deal." This way, when we meet you for the first time, we know what to expect and won't be offended when you cannot accommodate us within the first two hours of our dealership visit. So after I exclaimed my disliking for the deception he stated we have the car you want with the bells and whistles but its $2000 more than you saw on the Internet. Of course I said I came here for that car at that price with those features. After waiting for the "meeting", he said let my mechanic take a look at your car to get the value. Blue Book Value and Edmund's was $8400 to $9300 for my trade in at a good condition. I expected around there especially since I had around $7000 left on it. I was looking for $8000. Fair price, I had a dent in my trunk and hole in my exhaust pipe. Sammy came back saying the car was worth $5600 because I didn't have a catalytic converter and the supercharger was whining at idle. I explained the whining supercharger because I installed a K&N air intake. I had to show the manager where the catalytic converter was on my car. The mechanic could not find it. That’s what was bringing the price down for the trade in. I stated that I cannot pass inspection without a catalytic converter and my exhaust was custom-made 4 years ago. So how am I passing inspection then? Having the mechanic not being able to find my converter should have sent me running, but I continued. After finding the converter and realizing that the supercharger was “okay” we struck a deal that made me happy. $8000 for trade in, $2000 less for the car with the bells and whistles, and a good monthly payment. This doesn't show them working with me, it shows what people can accomplish when they speak up and realize that the dealer wants your business. The consumer has the upper hand and they can get what they want with a little time and a continuing headache. This dealership is like everyone else and who the hell knows when dealerships will change. But do some research and go into your bargaining with so much information that you control the meeting, and you will get what you want. YOU DISAPPOINT ME RAMSEY NISSAN, AND SAMMY ESPECIALLY DISAPPOINTMENTS ME AS WELL.

What is the return policy on used cars from Ramsey?

Ramsey Nissan responded

Thank you, Mr. Stephen Garay, for the telling the world of your experience here at Ramsey Nissan. If we may add some details to your story to keep the playing field level. Mr. Garay described his Pontiac Grand Prix GTP as “above average condition with no issues” on the telephone that morning. When he arrived at our store there were concerns he neglected to mention. Other than the dents and deep white scratches scattered all over his Dark Burgundy car making it less than appealing to the eye, his poorly installed aftermarket exhaust was held together by, get this, TAPE! Yes. TAPE. To describe it, imagine heat resistant Duct Tape. That may be acceptable for King of Prussia, but not acceptable to the inspection stations of the tri-state area. It is also an extreme fire and safety hazard. Along with tape holding his exhaust system together, he had aftermarket mufflers that could be best described as Ebay specials from China -—Held together with Tape. The exhaust system was leaking in several spots. Now we move to the engine. Mr. Garay claims his friend is a professional technician. Not only does he use tape to put exhaust systems together, but his professional tech poorly installed an aftermarket air induction system. Mr. Garay can kick and scream, but it will not be anywhere near as loud as the whining from his Supercharger. The Grand Prix GTP is a supercharged engine. Personally, I am a fan of the Grand Prix GTP’s since the late 80’s. I have had the pleasure of driving dozens of them through the years. Ironically, none of them sound like the bearing in his. This is where experience counts. We have since discovered that our initial diagnosis was correct: SUPERCHARGER PROBLEM! For those of you reading this not familiar with superchargers, they are very, very expensive. Four figure repair. Mr. Garay was not shopping Muranos with any bells and whistles. His internet list was all Murano S Entry Level equipment vehicles. He might claim to pass on the Brooklyn ones to come here, but he forgot to mention the old New York trick of advertising the FINANCE AMOUNT after the $2995 down payment. So we did have to show him, on his own print outs, that he had to add $2995 to each price. We admitted outright that the automation process of listing hundreds of cars on the internet on a daily basis does have flaws. We even pointed out the 40 photographs of the car he was interested in with THREE (3) CLOSE UP PHOTOS OF THE RADIO IN QUESTION. We apologized in words and, more so, in actions. We corrected the mis-information on the spot to the vehicle he initially wanted to purchase. To prove our point, Mr. Garay says that some sub-sites online still show the wrong information over one week later. So the end result? We gave Mr. Garay $1500.00 too much for his Grand Prix, put him in a Murano SL All Wheel Drive with LESS MILES, Back-Up Camera and even a Power SunRoof for the same price he wanted to pay for an entry level Murano S with no bells and whistles. Stephen Garay—You, sir, are an enigma. You ended up getting a Murano SL AWD with Back Up Camera, Sunroof, Power Seats and lower mileage that you told us you never thought you could afford FOR THE SAME PRICE you were willing to pay for a lesser car. Yes, we lost a few dollars to do what the rest of the world would consider the right thing. We ended up with a dented, scratched Pontiac with a bad supercharger bearing and a taped, leaking exhaust system. We did the right thing by you and still, still you leave a review like this? Karma, my friend. Karma. //RN
