Thank you for submitting your review of our store. DealerRater.com has recommended we offer some more insight to your current situation, as it is a unique one. Respectfully, you did leave a few significant details from your review which we feel should be brought back to light. Your Sentra was brought to us with the complaint of a noise from the engine compartment. We spent several hours of our time on your vehicle, including dropping the oil pan only to find excessive sludge in the engine apparently caused by lack of oil changes recommended by Nissan every 3750 miles. We immediately contacted you for your oil change receipts to submit to Nissan so we could file your warranty claim. Your first response to the request: “We do not have any.” You then came back with receipts that were documented with a gap of 15,000 miles between oil changes. We submitted them to Nissan North America and your warranty claim was denied. Please understand, Ramsey Nissan is a franchise dealership. We sell Nissan products. Nissan North America makes the product and has the right to approve or deny any warranty claim with their product. The dealer base has no authority to do so. We only supply the information to Nissan North America that they request on a warranty claim. The engine oil change is so crucial to its longevity, Nissan made a point to list the requirements of oil change and PROOF OF OIL CHANGE SERVICE in your Sentra’s Warranty Manual with regards to the engine warranty. We submitted the claim to Nissan North America and they subsequently denied the claim due to lack of maintenance. They again requested your maintenance history on the vehicle and again, you could not produce any additional documents. It is important for us to note that Ramsey Nissan was not your selling dealer. Perhaps returning to your selling dealer would have carried more weight for the actual claim or the selling dealership could have offered some goodwill financial assistance with your claim from their end since you had a prior business relationship. We are sorry to hear you spent money at another facility as the internal damage has already been caused and $85.00 will not rectify that. You did drive your vehicle in and drove it out so yes, the engine is still operational at this time. We want anyone reading this to also know this was your first and only trip to our store for any sales, service or parts needs. We want it noted that we spent 2.5 hours of labor on your car and as an act of Goodwill DID NOT CHARGE YOU to diagnose your Sentra. Not one penny of your money was spent with us. That is the type of service and courtesy our store offers. We are sorry to learn after our goodwill and courtesy to try and gain a new customer you offered this review of our store. Sincerely, //RN
