I explained to him that I had some credit issues and he showed no interest in trying to get me into a vehicle that I could afford. Just wanted me go into the lot and look at some cars and let him know which ones that I was interested in. He didn’t even take the time to come with me and show me, I felt as though that because I didn’t have decent credit he didn’t want to help me. He just went on to the next customer. Very disappointed in this dealership More

H I was not looking forward to the car buying experience BUT Roy was amazing! He got me in the car I really wanted but didn't think was in my budget. He is a great sales person that knows the true meaning of customer service. He was not pushy or condescending like other sales people I have dealt with at other dealerships. I would highly recommend Roy for your next vehicle purchase. Loving my new car! More

Not the best experience Car buying is a very stressful experience! Mostly because you have to figure out if a dealership will be filled with honest individuals, or the typica Car buying is a very stressful experience! Mostly because you have to figure out if a dealership will be filled with honest individuals, or the typical “sell you a car and forget you” types. For this reason I spent almost 5 months looking for the dealership and deal that I truly wanted! First off, I already had a loan preapproval with an APR I was happy with. This was supposed to make the experience quick and painless. Since my approval was though Capitol One, they have a website that connects to several local dealerships and available vehicles. When I found the Kia Sorento I had been wanting listed at Pride Hyundai, I was immediately excited! I did everything as Capitol One had mentioned. Printed out the paperwork and headed to the dealership. I was met by Roy whom immediately seemed like a genuine sales man. I provided him with the info I had on the Kia Sorento and the preapproval. When we went to test drive the Sorento, I immediately noticed that the “online description” was not the Kia that I was in. The description mentioned that it had a panoramic sun roof, heated AND ventilated seats, and came “certified pre owned” that meant the 6 year, 100K powertrain warranty was included! As I mentioned this to Roy, he told me, “The website is sometimes wrong in the descriptions, but I will bring that up to management!” Not only did the Sorento lack a sun roof, it had heated seats (but not AC/ventilated) and Roy mentioned that the “certified warranty” does not include Kia vehicles as they are a Hyundai dealership (then WHY have it on the website!?) I literally pulled up the description directly from the Pride Hyundai site and showed him! When we went to talk numbers, I had specifically told Roy that I wanted to only put $500 down along with my trade (which was old and they only offered me $100 for it). He came back with the same monthly payment info that Capitol One gave me and he mentioned that the manager agreed to honor the certified warranty. I was content at this point. I gave my $500 and was told the finance manager would call me the following day (Thursday, April 5th) to finalize the financing. Well, the 5th came. I wanted to look at the pictures of the Kia on their website and noticed a button that says “click for our best price guarantee”. So I figured, let me see what comes back. When I did, a price came back $200 less than what Roy had quoted me. I guess, clicking that button alerts the dealership, so I immediately got two back to back phone calls asking if I was interested in the vehicle. I asked to speak to Roy. When I got him on the phone, it was a different tone then the night before. I mentioned that I had yet to get a call from the “finance dept” and noticed the car had a listed price $200 cheaper then he quoted me. Roy’s response should have made me realize what I was in for. “The manager already honored the extended warranty and will not also give the internet price as he is already taking a loss!” He then says he will check with the finance dept on the hold up. I got a call from Dave an hour later. He mentioned he had the approval from Capitol One, but wanted to send it to other banks to see if he could get a lower rate (I had originally declined that as too many inquiries tends to lower your credit score 2-3 points per inquiry!) But he swore he could get a lower rate! 5 dings to my credit later, I finally got a call from Roy. He simply states, “When do you want to pick up your truck?” So I had to ask if that meant they didn’t get any lower rates? He didn’t seem to know and said I had to speak to Dave when I came in. It was around 130p and I specifically asked Roy if the entire car would be detailed for me to come in at 430p. He said, “Sure, as long as he has an hour notice it can be done while im with Dave.” So it gets difficult from here on out…I arrive and Roy simply ushers me in to speak to Dave. I was given the typical sales pitch of how I need the “extended warranty” as the honored warranty of the 6yrs/100K will not cover any of the internal issues that may arise dealing with the electronics. So I accepted the warranty and GAP coverage, NOT realizing that this now negates the “certified warranty” Roy mentioned was so gracefully honored! I then noticed that on the warranty pricing, it listed a deposit of $1000. I had to advise Dave that I told Roy I only wanted to put $500 down and that Capitol One would honor that as I had already discussed the financing with them! I sign paper after paper and Roy comes in to hand off the key. Mentioned that “They wont register the vehicle until the bank sends payment for the loan”. It was Thursday, April 5th so I wasn’t too worried. I get into the SUV which I noticed was not detailed on the inside, the outside was washed. It only had 1/3 tank of gas as well! I figured that they would have at least detailed the inside of the Sorento and given me a full tank of gas, but I guess that’s too much to ask for. Fast forward to Monday, April 9th. I call Roy at 10a and ask for the status of the registration. He calls back 5 minutes later and mentions that “they are still waiting for the bank to finance the loan.” So I mentioned that I would call Capitol One and see what the holdup is as state law only allows 7 days to register a vehicle, so I was getting nervous. I called Capitol One and was advised that they were still waiting for the sales contract to be sent. This is when I called Dave to see what the issue may be. It is 230p and he tells me, “I have to make a couple calls and will see what I can find out, but give me a little time.” It is now Tuesday, April 10. I received NO call back so I call Dave again. This time he tells me he didn’t get a reply email from Capitol One and he would have to call them and call me back. When he calls me back, he says it will take a few more days as the sales contract was just FedEx on Monday, April 9th (I purchased the vehicle on Thursday, why did it take til Monday to send the sales contract?) I then mention to Dave that I had ONE day until the vehicle had to be registered. He said he would call me back. When he calls me back, he says he spoke to Roy and the “manager" and they will put dealer plates on the truck on Wednesday, April 11th. Mentioned how there was a “hold up” over the weekend and Capitol One takes a while to issue payment (But if the sales contract was sent Monday, how do they expect to be paid by Wed?) So Wednesday came. I called Capitol One to check on the status. I was told that they received the sales contract that morning, but the GAP coverage was listed with a different date than the rest of the paperwork. So they were going to have to call the dealership to have a second GAP form sent with the correct date. Dave was out of the office this day, so this whole process was now going to get pushed back even farther. When i arrived to have the dealer plate placed on the truck, I was then told that "it is the policy of the dealership that they have to wait to unitl the bank financing in order to register vehicles to any purchaser WITH SUB PRIME CREDIT SCORES!" So meaning, you can have decent credit, but a score under 650, and you will be treated differently! I asked if the dealership finds this a little discriminatory. To this, i was told that I can talk to the manager if i have a concern, its dealership policy! So now im driving on a dealer plate with zero idea of when my registration will be processed! All because paperwork wasnt sent timely and was sent with incorrect dates, requiring it to have to be sent, again. When i called to speak to Dave on Thursday April, 12th, I was advised that he was no longer with the dealership... Fortunately, the manager Mike intercepted my call and stated that he sent the correct GAP form and my vehicle was registered that afternoon. I went to pick up my registration and noticed that i was overcharged for it. It cost $100 for the registration which i was charged $135. I was told i would be getting a check for the difference, but with my experience with this dealership, im not too positive it will come! My ultimate experience is this: I have purchased four vehicles in my life and this is the first time I had to call and follow up on my paper work being handled timely. It is also the first time I picked up a vehicle that was not completely detailed inside and came without a full tank of gas. This is also the first time I encountered misleading detailed descriptions on a vehicle and a dealership not honoring their own internet price! If you choose to come to this dealership, be ready. You will receive a different price quote than what the online amount tells you, you will most likely see items in the description that do not match the vehicle, and if they do “honor” their listing, it will be met with a feeling like they are doing you a favor! You will NOT get a follow up phone call or even someone from the dealership asking how the vehicle is doing or if there were any problems, you will take delivery of a vehicle that looks exactly like how it did when you test drove it, and you will probably have to follow up with them on the status of financing and registration.
