Dear Ms. Miller/ We sent you an email on December 15, 2022 that we never did receive a response too. We were disappointed to read the survey and apologize for any issue arising for that. We know that this is the first time this vehicle has been with our company. The battery matter you refer to is one of a class action status. It is not a normal “warranty matter”. Customers under the class have been directly notified (such as you) by the class action administrators. In that notification, you need to call in, or, go online to obtain an authorization number prior to your visit which provides for a test. If the battery is an original Subaru battery (not aftermarket) and, arises to a failure under the test, it would be eligible. So, if you were told by another dealer that it is automatically covered – that is in fact incorrect. There is a burden of proof that must be met. Typically, we do introduce this process to every customer – as, it is not a cut and dry warranty process. Customers do have the obligation of contacting the class action administrator. We apologize if we didn’t. Cristal has been with us for a long time – and, I promise you that she is anything but, deceitful. That is not the culture of our company. With our regular customers – we have actually reached out to all of them to advise them of this matter and provide them information to achieve the benefits. We even have a page on our website to advise them. I do sincerely apologize. I do believe that you could contact the Class Action Administrator at this time and see if they would consider reimbursement. Interesting. My regular dealer when I called them immediately informed me about the battery. At no time was this ever mentioned to me from the dealership in Branford. I was told by Christal that my back brakes did not meet government standards when they did my vehicle inspection. My son was away and I called him and he told me there was nothing that he heard of like this. He owns a high performance car garage. They do repairs all the time. In the future I will have my car towed to a dealership that I feel is fair and truthful.

Ms. Miller, as our email to you indicated - only when a battery fails under certain conditions is it qualified under the class action lawsuit. There is no warranty on the battery - just the class action lawsuit. It is necessary for the battery to fail under the equipment that they have provided to be qualified. Cristal's paperwork indicated that the brakes were wearing and nearing replacement levels. We are the only Subaru dealer in Connecticut approved by the AAA for Automotive Service for a reason - we stand behind our work and our work is honest and upfront. We would ask for you to review our email to you on December 15, 2022 where we provided a detail explanation of the battery recall, the website to go to for possible reimbursement and an offer for a complimentary synthetic oil change service.
