Masters of Deception!!! Must read for anyone considering buying from them!!!! Premier Automotive in Dumfries VA looks to be a reputable dealer online with bottom line prices and attentive customer servic buying from them!!!! Premier Automotive in Dumfries VA looks to be a reputable dealer online with bottom line prices and attentive customer service but the saying goes when it’s too good to be true it probably is and in this case it couldn’t be more true! They are a make shift road side dealer with FRAUDULENT business practices to move cars they bought at bottom line prices at auction with questionable history which they PURPOSELY DO NOT DISCLOSE PRIOR DAMAGE in any of their listings and will OVERCHARGE you without any explanation! Summary of my recent experience: I had been looking for a Chevy Colorado and was pre-approved through Capital One Auto finance. I found their listing on several online platforms for a 2017 Chevy Colorado LT 4x4 crew cab for $25,999 which fit perfect with my budget perfectly. No where on any of their listings did it indicate prior accidents or frame damage to the vehicle. So I reached out to the sales person - Ali - and he indicated the car was still available and in great condition and asked when I’d like to come in to test drive it. Due to my lack of transportation I told him I wanted to process the financing online since I was pre-approved with CapitalOne Auto Financing and have everything verified before heading out because the VIN was not populating in their app. Ali indicated that he needed to check with his finance manager and he get back to me in a few mins. Ali called back and indicated he spoke with his financial manager and they confirmed with CapitalOne that I was approved and could get me the rate I was quoted. But when I asked for him to send the documents too me before coming out to review he said they were not able to do that without verifying my identity in person, but not to worry because they were able to get the rate I wanted and all ready for me to come in. We arrived shortly after 7 and the entire team was very attentive and friendly. Ali had the truck ready and waiting for us but when we asked for the CARFAX he kept giving me the run around and told us that he would have it ready when we got back from our test drive. This was the second time I asked about the vehicles history and was told NOTHING. After a short 15min test drive, I was sold and excited to be buying a car I believed to be in great condition at a great price ($26,999 for a 4x4 crew cab truck with only 32k miles) for my 19yr old son so we sat down to complete my financing paperwork. Once in the room with the finance manager he explained he was not able to get the 4.5% rate I was pre-approved for but they got close and could offer 5.13% with payments of $466 for 72months with $1000 down. I was hoping it would be the $414 I received in my Capital One Pre-Approval but it was late they were getting ready to close and I was happy we were saving $2k over any of the other listings we found (unless they indicated title issues), so I agreed to the terms verbally and he processed the paperwork. Afterwards I was given the VIN and name of the financial institution and instructed to call my insurance company to get the car insured. I called the 1800 number but the recording said they were closed but policy changes could be made online using the app, so I added the vehicle to my policy online but instead of receiving confirmation of my policy being updated - I received a note that indicated it would take 2-3 days for the changes and to call my insurance person during business hours to discuss. When I showed him the note he indicated that was fine and to email the screenshot to him. After which I was told it was time to sign about 50pages, during which he never offered a visual review or verbal explanation about the increase to the advertised price $25,999 which some how became $27450.00 and never made any indication that the car I was purchasing had any accidents or previous damages. A CARfAX was NEVER physically presented or verbally conveyed to either my son or myself, but some how I have a document which we both signed that indicated something entirely different! It is clear to me that the financing manager is in on the scam because he made no attempt to highlight the price increase or previous damages, but instead highlighted only insignificant documents when instructing me where to sign. Instead when important ones came to the top which should have been noted he played ignorant and began making small talk about bitcoins and giving my son unsolicited directions on the best way to get back home. During the signing I asked about the warranty he noted I should have the balance of manufacture warranty, which is 6yrs or 60,000 miles since the car was a 2017 with 31,250 miles so I will have the balance of 2years / 28,000 miles. I was never offered an extend warranty or told about how the vehicles prior damage voided the manufacturers warranty. It wasn’t until I started driving home that the car started to make clicking and grinding noises in the front, when I realized I had been sweet talked into trusting them and buying a car knew absolutely nothing about. As soon as I got home I reviewed the paperwork and discovered I was right and they never included the CARFAX and at some point I signed a document that acknowledged previous accidents and structural damage stating: “prior to my purchase of the vehicle the dealer has provided and or made available to me the Carfax or auto check report for the vehicle which indicates that the vehicle has been an accident prior to my purchase of the vehicle and or verbally advised us of the fact the vehicle has been up in a part accident.” “prior accidents have resulted, among other repairs, in repairs of the structure and or unibody components of the vehicle, including substandard repairs and due to the previous accident, this vehicle was announced as structurally unibody damage at the auction in light of that prior to the purchase of the vehicle the dealer has afforded me the right to conduct such examinations regarding the vehicle the extent of any prior damage in the condition therefore as I deem suitable or necessary having conduct such inspection am am satisfied with the physical condition of this vehicle” AND after reviewing the financing papers I discovered they grossly over charged me! Somehow I just paid $27450 for a SUMMARY OF OVERCHARGING: I was told the sales price of the truck was $25,999 and I was approved at a rate of 5.1% and my payments would be $366 monthly so I verbally agreed and he processed the paperwork. List of charges were: SALE PRICE : $27,450 PROCESSING FEE : $999.00 SUBTOTAL : $28,449.00 STATE TAX : $1180.63 TITLE REGISTRATION: $62.74 DEALER BUSINESS LICENSE: $34.31 ONLINE SUSTEM FILING: $19.99 SUBTOTAL: $29,746.67 DOWNPAYMENT : $1000 BALANCE OWED: $28,746.67 Financed at 5.1% over 72months at monthly payments $465.68. For a total financed price of $34,528.96 When I discovered I had just paid 34,528.96 for vehicle that was supposed to be $25,999 vehicle and has undisclosed frame damage I was livid! They overcharged me for the listing price of the truck by $1451.00 and charged $999 in dealer fees. This is nothing other then belligerent FRAUD! I IMMEDIATELY emailed them requesting the Carfax and notifying them that I needed to make arrangements for the vehicle to be returned ASAP. I didn’t receive a response to my emails, but sadly I received a text from the sales manager - Ali - “Hi Danielle, It’s Ali at Premier Automotive Inc.. Just wanted to touch base with you again since I didn’t hear back from you yesterday. I would be happy to discuss further what you are looking for and how I can help you fulfill your needs on the 2017 Chevy Colorado you inquired about. When is the best time to reach you? Do you prefer text, email, or calls? Thank you again for your interest!” Clearly Ali can’t get his con game straight because he sold me that car not 12hrs before so I responded: “Hi Ali. The truck needs to go back! Your team failed to mention anything about frame damage because had you supplied the CARFAX as asked or given any indication there was an issue I never would have purchased it so I am making arrangements to have it towed back this morning. Please confirm when someone will be on site to receive the truck.” Following I received a text from his manger: “Good morning Danielle this is Nas as one of the managers on board at Premier please give me a call when you get a chance” I called immediately called Nas and he was apologetic and said they didn’t want me to be unhappy with my purchase so of course they would take the vehicle back, but than quickly proceeded to justifying his team’s deception by saying: “We purchase a lot of vehicles at auction from insurance companies and we can’t be held responsible for the history of each which is why we post the VIN number of each on our site but if you didn’t pull that yourself I can download that and send it to you to review. Have you seen the report? I’m looking at it and there was previous damage but like I said we purchase a lot at auction from insurance companies but they have all been repaired and I would encourage you to let me send you the CARFAX so you can review it yourself. And since you have the truck why don’t you take it to get looked at and if you still want to return it after you review all thats fine too because we want you to be happy with your purchase so bring it in and we’ll get you straightened out. We already have your loan approved so feel free to come in and I’m sure we can find you something else to make you happy. We have over 200 vehicles in inventory.” I interrupted his excuses by saying: “I made several attempts to retrieve the CARFAX from Ali before purchasing and the CARFAX was never made available during the time of purchase when signing papers so......as far as I am concerned your TEAM COMMITTED blatant FRAUD and the truck is going back.” And “Had I been made aware of any previous damage to the vehicle I was buying for my 19yr old son, I NEVER would had purchased it, so I’ve made arrangements for it to be towed back to you and will be there in an hour. Don’t worry AAA towing is at my expense along with a full tank of gas after your team was so kind to sell me a car with less than an 1/8th of a tank and I will not be buying anything else from your team every again. There is a silver model down the road with a clean title and no prior damage we will be looking at. The vehicle was returned and deposit check was voided and I never confronted them on the overcharging but I hope someone investigates them soon cause this is a trending story that seems to be told from multiple people in reviews so this is not a case of ignorance. This is blatant attempts to defraud buyers. They play a great game of not lying but just not disclosing. Incredibly deceptive business practices! More
