This past Friday July 5, I was to have flown to Sacramento to sign the paperwork for a 2017 Porsche 911 I have been negotiating on since the prior week with John MacManus. The deal was set until Jo Sacramento to sign the paperwork for a 2017 Porsche 911 I have been negotiating on since the prior week with John MacManus. The deal was set until John called me and stated that they had not included the cost of the theft recovery device (RecovR) this was a 1200 dollar add on by the dealer. I expressed to John that I did not want it and he came back with a discounted amount of 795 as it was already installed. I expressed to John I would appreciate if they would just take it out but would move forward with the deal. That night I sent a picture of my airline ticket, and he was to send me a link for the credit card deposit. The sales manager (Andrey Protsyuk) at this point had seen the deal John was working on at least 3 times, so he was well aware that the deal was in progress. This is where it gets ugly. How dare a customer not want to buy or pay for something they don’t want. See the recovery device is nothing more elaborate than an apple tag which is given to dealers free as long as they request a certain minimum and pay for a monitoring fee when the car is sold of less than 300 dollars for 3 years of service. This service can only be renewed through the dealer. The installation is nothing more than dropping it in the trunk, glove box or under the seat, so the comment it was installed is misleading. What a money maker if you’re selling them at 1200. The next I reached out as I had not received the link for the deposit, John informed me that the sold the ca to someone else. It’s appalling that the dealer would pull the rug from under my feet but at the same time screw their own teammate. Doesn’t say a lot of the business ethic at Porsche of Sacramento. This was not a mistake, but in my opinion intentional like a bully would do to someone who doesn’t go along with his demands. I have waited till today to give management a chance to contact me or at least make effort to refund my airline ticket, nothing. The difference between great businesses and bad ones is that the great one face problems, learn from them and improve. Bad ones deny, deflect, and blame others for their failings. I have never bought a car from The Niello Company and not sure if this dealer reflects the values and ethics of the company, I wonder what Rick Niello would say? To Porsche of Sacramento’s competition what a great tag line “We don force you to but anything you don’t want”. To John, you are a stand-up guy as you have been the only one to talk to me despite not having authority to remediate anything. Other than my opinion, I have text, phone calls and pics to support what I’m saying if you wish to investigate further. More
