Ken was patient and helped me find just the right car. Every Pohanka employee I saw said "Hello" and just made me feel welcomed even when I was already with another salesperson. I never felt pressured because I was taking up to much time. This was without a doubt the best car shopping/purchase experience I have had of all the car purchases I've made in the last 30 years. I am 71 years old and have purchased several cars in my time. I would have to say that the experience at Pohanka Honda of Fredericksburg was the best! Steve Smith was the most honest, knowledgeable, friend time. I would have to say that the experience at Pohanka Honda of Fredericksburg was the best! Steve Smith was the most honest, knowledgeable, friendly, and patient salesman ever! It took me forever to find the right car for me. I must have test drove everything at the dealership! Steve was extremely understanding and he finally put me in a car that I thought I would absolutely hate, but fell in love the first time I drove it! It was the Honda Fit Sport. He even nailed the color without even asking... Blue Sensation!!! I LOVE IT!!! Thank you Pohanka and most of all... THANK YOU STEVE!!! Buy from Pohanka, and ask for Steve!!! Kenny in finance was very helpful also. Oh, and the entire dealership is INCREDIBLE!!! More
I've put on 275000 miles over 8 years, so I've had a ton of maintenance done on my car. The reason I keep coming back to Mike at Pohanka is that he works with me to figure out a service schedule that allow of maintenance done on my car. The reason I keep coming back to Mike at Pohanka is that he works with me to figure out a service schedule that allows for consolidating labor costs, saving me hundreds over the years. Not only that, he's recommended cheaper alternatives that worked better than stock parts; for example, he recommended a set of tires that were not only $200 cheaper, they really grip the road better in dry weather (wet weather performance is about the same). The one time they made a mistake, they replaced the part for free. I couldn't be happier with the service, and I have kept coming to them even after I moved from Fredericksburg to Richmond. More
Ken Halderman / Blue, I just wanted to let you know Ken Halderman / Blue, I just wanted to let you know that this was the best new car buying experience that I have ever had in my life. I have purc Ken Halderman / Blue, I just wanted to let you know that this was the best new car buying experience that I have ever had in my life. I have purchased at least 5 new cars in my life. Historically car dealers have been tricky and confrontational in my experience. The last 2 Honda's we purchased through AAA just to avoid all the hassles. It was a true pleasure dealing with you and Pohanka Honda. I know that you were surprised at my skepticism, but I have had some really bad experiences in the past with various car dealers. I must say they you and Pohanka are fantastic. It was a really great experience and everyone that we talked with in the dealership was the same. The environment and people at Pohanka are all friendly and fun. By the time we left, I wished that I could work at a place like this. This is our 5th Honda Accord, so I am sure we will be back to see you again - even if it is a 3.5 hour drive. Thanks again for all your help. Dave & Laura G PS - You will be getting ALL 5's when Honda calls. More
I’ve had the pleasure of dealing with Pohanka Honda of Fredericksburg since 1998, for both new car purchases and services. The list of vehicles includes: 1985 Honda Civic Wagon (service and still active) Fredericksburg since 1998, for both new car purchases and services. The list of vehicles includes: 1985 Honda Civic Wagon (service and still active), 1989 Honda Civic Wagon (prior service), 1998 Accord LX (purchase and service, and still active), 2005 Accord VP (purchase and service, and still active), and a 2010 Fit (purchase, and soon to be serviced). Most recently I had my 1998 Accord serviced for an oil change and general look-over. This car still runs well at its 220,000+ miles, but it has a few noises here and there, and certain mechanical parts are showing normal wear. This car, along with my 1985 Civic Wagon have been serviced frequently and most often by Danny Bell, and I’ve stayed in touch with Mike Traber as one of the primary service advisors. To make a long story short, I had a minor issue along with related questions about this Accord’s automatic transmission. Danny Bell took the time to go over my concerns, inspect the car, and answer my questions. The outcome of all this was that I didn’t have to spend a large sum of money for an uneventful issue related to the car’s performance and safety. This is important, because honesty and integrity go a long way for customer satisfaction, future trust and a returning customer. My thanks to this great service team at Pohanka. More
We have used Pohanka Honda for many years. Our first experience with them was in 2007 when we purchased our first Honda and were very happy with both the experience and the knowledge of the sales staff. experience with them was in 2007 when we purchased our first Honda and were very happy with both the experience and the knowledge of the sales staff. This time I traded in two cars (Honda and Ford) for a new CRV. As a recent widow, I was at first hesitant but soon became comfortable as these salespeople were both patient and very helpful. My husband had confidence in this dealership and now I do too. Thank you. Sincerely, Martha Nazak More

I called and explained that we would be driving 2 hours there after my kids got off the bus (school night). I talked to the salesperson about the car and the condition. I was told it is certified so it is in great condition with no problems. Everything was there. I even saw in a pic the middle (8th) seat missing and was told they had it there just not in the pic. I got to the dealer at 6:30 PM. Upon inspecting the car, even before test driving, I found the spare tire missing, the middle or 8th seat missing and not at the dealer. The wireless headsets for dvd player missing. The car had some bad scratches in it. One of the scratches was on the lower passenger door at least 2 feet long and they used one of those paint pens to try and cover it up. The scratch went all the way to the metal and was hideous. This SHOULD be professionally fixed before showing to another buyer. NONE of these issues were explained to me before I came to see the car! Then the numbers game came. Somehow the price of the car jumped up and I was told if i put $4500 down and paid $450 month for 60 months I could have the car. I wasn't even told the interest rate. I was already preapproved and can do math. The car was advertised for $23000. What does their math add up to? $31500 OTD. Then they dropped the $4500 down and would give me the car for $450/60 months = $28500. Then there was no negotiating the price even with the scratches??? Thankfully I was already preapproved and knew all my numbers ahead of time. We walked out. Finally got home a 11:30 PM. Wasted all that gas money not to mention cost of dinner. Thanks for a bad experience. One of the worst buying experiences I have ever had! Would never go back or recommend. I just feel bad for the people who don't do research and get scammed by them! This was the first time I've ever bought a car. My husband died a year and a half ago and he always took care of those things so I was in unchartered territory. I wanted to buy a car my daughter's 21s husband died a year and a half ago and he always took care of those things so I was in unchartered territory. I wanted to buy a car my daughter's 21st birthday. I researched hatchbacks and the Honda Fit scored very high. I got an amazing internet price but was worried that once I went into the dealer, they would do a bait and switch. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised. Rebecca made the whole process not only painless but thoroughly enjoyable. She had the perfect combination of responsiveness without the pushiness. She should teach a car salesperson course. I have officially moved over from being a Toyota person to a Honda person. More

He even kept my three kids amused while I spoke with Kenny Wolter. The car was ready when we arrived, parked right out front. Ken took a lot of time explaining all the new features of the redesigned Odyssey to me. The dealership itself is amazing. Complimentary coffee drinks and hot chocolate, massage chairs, TV, even the bathrooms were beautiful. I could not even imagine a better place to purchase a car. We drove up from Richmond to buy this car and my only regret is that we are not going to be able to have our car serviced there because of the distance from our house. More
Having bought quite a few cars I know what qualifies a dealership as excellent and sub-par. This is the second car I have gotten from Pohanka and will certainly not be the last. I was in a car that was no dealership as excellent and sub-par. This is the second car I have gotten from Pohanka and will certainly not be the last. I was in a car that was no longer practical and that I hated driving. I owed more on the car then it was worth which didn't help my situation. I had been to another dealership in Tysons Corner which was not only a bad experiance but didn't seem to consider that I was in a situation where I could not be above a certain payment due to closing on a house in the near future. I felt the stigma that we all hear about with dealerships. I went to Pohanka and was treated with the utmost respect and care. Sandy was my sales person who took the time to ask me what I wanted and what I could afford. She made sure that I was getting the best deal possible and made sure that I was not pressured into something I didn't want or need. The finance consultant Kenny Wolter gave me advice as to not leave without GAP insurance since I was owing more on the car than it was worth and made everything affordable. If anyone is in the market for a new or used car I would HIGHLY reccommend the associates at Pohanka Honda of Fredericksburg. I personally garunntee that you will not be dissapointed. More
