Terrible Experience (known around CO as the worst) I would rate zero stars if I could, terrible times 5! They lied during initial purchase, and after one year in the truck the sales/finance department I would rate zero stars if I could, terrible times 5! They lied during initial purchase, and after one year in the truck the sales/finance department have failed to return everyone of my calls (exception assistant GM, 8-months later). The sales associate told me my new truck would be on site within the next 3-days, 1.5 months later it arrived! I had returned from deployment and they left me hanging for months while they said it would be in shortly. Not only was that a problem, but they continuously failed to update me, and when they did they said it was on a train that never came. Come to find out they didn't want to let me walk so they said they had the truck but they didn't. I also tried to make contact with the finance manger for the last 8-months and received zero phone calls back! Now that they have my money they don't care what happens to me. I even told another ford dealership what had happened and they were shocked and said that they had that reputation. And Century (extended warranty company) said phil long truck at motor city could help customers but they never do and customers who call them always tell them their horror stories. Please pick any other dealership that's just a short ride north to Denver. People literally drive 65 min to another dealerships just because Phil long truck at motor city is that bad! At the very least use outside companies for any extras that you order, you will get better coverage, at a cheaper price. If one person reads this and decides to go to another ford dealership then this post was worth it. Blake More
Shady service I purchased a new Volkswagen Jetta from Phil Long Chapel Hills the beginning of April 2014. From the beginning the Sales team was applying as much pr I purchased a new Volkswagen Jetta from Phil Long Chapel Hills the beginning of April 2014. From the beginning the Sales team was applying as much pressure as possible to get me to buy right there, right then. While working with the finance dept. it was also very rushed. I was signed up for a bill payment plan that was supposed to lower the overall cost of my vehicle as well as drop 5 months off by paying twice a month. After doing the math I would actually pay more for the vehicle monthly and in the end. I called the third party to cancel these payments and discovered that it had cost me $400 to enroll and that I would have to pay a $30 fee to cancel even though they had not made a single payment. The company then explained to me that it was all in the service contract I had signed. I asked if that contract could be emailed to me and it was promptly. When I looked at the signature it was a generic electronic signature, not mine. The following week I received alerts from my car telling me it needed to be serviced, I took it back to the dealership and a sales representative told me all the vehicles where serviced and they had just forgotten to clear it. He then reset the warning. 3 days later the service now warning re appeared along with a warning that said my license plate lights were out, although they worked fine. I took it to Phil Long Chapel Hills service center this time. I was told that the service was conducted and good and that the reason for the license light warning was the bulbs had too much resistance. One month after my purchase the service now warning came back and while driving down a busy road my clutch went out. I had the vehicle towed to Phil Long Motor City because it was closer to my location when it broke down. After 2 days I had to call to find out the status of my vehicle. I was informed that they were sending it to the Phil Long Chapel Hills because they were the last ones to service it. The next day I was called and told that I would have to pay $1,200 to allow them to check and see if the clutch was the problem. They also said that it was not their problem and they would not cover anything. I have bought 3 vehicles from the Phil Long family in the last 3 years and will not buy from them again. I will also strongly recommend to anyone that I speak to that they not purchase from this dealership. More
I was driving around with my boyfriend just looking at the Fords on the lot. I wasn't looking seriously yet because I knew I needed to work on raising my credit score & a little more down. The car was at the Fords on the lot. I wasn't looking seriously yet because I knew I needed to work on raising my credit score & a little more down. The car was at a slow crawl..still moving for God Sacks! When someone started tapping on passenger-side window and yelling "Hey"! We rolled down the window and after a few minutes of the normal salesman push "can I help you find something" and "come take a look inside the car" & "why don't you take it for a spin" I told him my physical credit score & I had no money to put down! Figuring he would back off he told him "well I know I can get you into something". I still was reluctant but guy says "let me give you my name and number, it's easy to remember it's on the front of the building". Turns out the salesman was Phil Long Ford himself (or so said his name badge anyway). He was sure that he was going to be able to get me into a brand-new car with no money down, and there would be huge rebates that would lower the price off the car by a couple thousands! Told me he was able to get people in new cars with worse credit & less pay than myself! I bought it..hook, line & sinker. I parked & we went in. Sat at the table playing the waiting game for 15-20 minutes. During that time he came over read off all the cool things my future new car did & all the money he would take off! Mind you he was talking to my boyfriend the whole time! I was buying the car, talk to me! He left the table again & was gone another 20 minutes, comes back with a piece of paper and proceed to tell me that I don't have any credit score. No way I said! That's impossible! I had just viewed my report that same week! He left again and this time brought a guy by the name of Andrew with him. At this point Mr. Phill Long Ford stopped speaking & didn't say one word to me, not even when we walked out the door! Need less to say I did not yet a car, but what I did get was a bunch of lies and a lecture about how crappy my credit was, I needed to clean it up, no one anywhere would ever give me a car with credit like mine! This man brought a copy of my report to the table and underlined things like he was a school teacher! Then he had enough nerve to say to my face "well if you do make this kind of money you should have no problem getting all this cleaned up & then you can come and see us and we might be able to do something for you in 2 years"! At one point my boyfriend asked Andrew "what kind of score are you looking for then?" The just stared at him and never answered the question. So after this little lecture, he slides over the piece of paper that says I don't have a score and tells me I can keep this. I said can you shred it with the application? He says, "oh we don't shred this we keep it on file for three years". I'm thinking what right do they have to keep my personal information like that!!!! Saying I received bad customer service would be putting it mildly! I will never buy anything or set foot on a Ford dealers lot ever again. The sad thing is, I come from a Ford family! We've been buying Fords and nothing else going back now for almost 5 generations! They treated my mom bad the last car she bought as well! Had enough nerve to ask her where her husband was! She was buying the car! My advice to anyone reading this..Don't do it go somewhere else! More
Bought a used car from here two weeks ago and had the clutch replaced. That was greatly appreciated, and wouldn't have happened without the help of my salesman. The sales department was great, i got th clutch replaced. That was greatly appreciated, and wouldn't have happened without the help of my salesman. The sales department was great, i got the car at a great price and they did evrything they could throughout the process. however, when I got the car back I drove it one day and the left tire started making a very loud noise. I took it in, they put a bolt in half xxx so it fell off, causing the tire to make the noise. Drive it one more day, next thing you know the bearings are causing the axle to shake and the car to make an extremely loud noise. I took it in, talked to the finance manager, and they refused to fix it. This is after it sat there for a week. Took it to a real mechanic who determined that they put a bolt on wrong that connects the bearing to the axle. Causing the bearing to fail and the car to shake. He said that re service center had put it back together terribly and that they should have fixed it because it was terribly put back together and wasnt like that when I bought it, two weeks earlier. So two times I took it to their service center, two times I got a car that returned in worse shape than before. Everything else was great but im not sure what the service center was doing. More
We were in the market for a Lincoln MKZ and were ready to put some money down on one and drive it home. We were very disappointed to be bombarded with a sales men before we could even get our of our vehicle put some money down on one and drive it home. We were very disappointed to be bombarded with a sales men before we could even get our of our vehicle. We asked him if we could just look for a few minutes before we spoke with a sales person. He made some snide remarks before walking away, as we walked the lot there was another sales person sent out to see if we wanted any help and we asked him if we could just get a chance to look before we spoke with a sales person, he walked away shaking his head. When we were ready to speak with someone the "General Manager" refused to help us and accused us of being rude and cussing at two of his sales people which was not true. They refused to do business with us and we were more than happy to take our business elsewhere. We ended up down the road at Spradley Lincoln in Pueblo and had a very wonderful expeirence and drove our brand new Lincoln MKZ home that night. We will never do business with Phil Long dealerships and would NOT recommend them to anyone! More
Service department is a fraudulent name for for a department that is only concerned with upselling. I took my Ford Focus to the "Express Lane" for an oil change and other routine services covered by department that is only concerned with upselling. I took my Ford Focus to the "Express Lane" for an oil change and other routine services covered by my maintenance agreement. Express lane is another fradulent term! I was there for over two hours because "the girl who checked my car in had left becasue of an emergency" was the first excuse I was given. This is what I was told one hour after turning my car over. Fifteen minutes later I was told that I needed new tires and my power steering system serviced. I told them that I needed my car right away because I had an appointment. 45 minutes later the girl who checked me in apoligized and again told me that I needed to get new tires right away and showed me three options ranging from $550 to almost $700. Again I said I need my car right away. A few minutes later Chris Gasser the Service Manager comes to me and tells me he is very concerned because I have been waiting for two hours and "that is not the way we provide service." He offers to sell me the tires :that they only charge $5 over cost for at an $80 dollar discount..." and of course my car still hasn't had the oil change done!!!! I told them I just really needed to get my car and leave and THEN I was told that they would get right on it. When I finally did get my keys I had to wait another ten minutes because they hadn't done or brought me the paperwork. I feel that this whole disaster was an attempt to hold me hostage until I bought tires from them. If you are stuck taking your vechicle ther for routine/warranty mainenance BEWARE! PS I did get tires at a National Chain later that week for $150 dollars less than the discount that I was offered for my wait. More
After buying a used 2009 Nissan Armada with less than 50,0000 miles on it at Chapel Hills my wife and I took the vehicle in for what we thought was regular maintenance. I called Chapel Hills and asked i 50,0000 miles on it at Chapel Hills my wife and I took the vehicle in for what we thought was regular maintenance. I called Chapel Hills and asked if we could go to Motor City in Colorado Springs they said of course. When my wife and I took our Armada in 12/15/12 we were greated by Samantha Tracey a quick lane advisor she took all our information and promised to call us before 10am with an update on the vehicle. Too our surprise Samantha called us as promised and gave us the good news and the bad news the issues with this vehicle which of course we bought all the extended warrantees. We were told that we needed new front struts they were leaking and rear shocks and a new wiper fluid bottle. When I asked if this was covered by warrantee she said she wasn't sure she asked me to call Chapel Hills which I did. When I called Chapel Hills the manager negated the fact the Armada had never been inspected which it hadn't being the vehicle just got there the morning we test drove it and that if we wanted it repaired or to be considered to be fixed due to their irresponsability and selling us a vehicle not inspected that we would have to bring it back to them. This negated the idea we could go to any Phil Long we wanted to that we were covered to add insult to injury the Manager at Chapel Hills stated"the service dept at Motor City could just be making it up to get the repair money". This was a lie of course, I then spoke again to Samantha Tracey and her Service Director Ernie Lanning they stated you bought this from Phil Long and we have to stand behind the vehicle and the customer. Samantha called the warantee company on her own which was above and beyond her job to take care of us the customer. Samantha found out the Struts, Washer bottle and front end alignment were covered by warantee and called us to give us the good news. The only Phil Long I will ever deal with is Phil Long Motor City and I will only deal with Samantha Tracey. The only reason I have peace of mind with my familys safety and the purchase I made for my family is because of the tireless efforts of Samantha Tracey and the help of Ernie Lanning. I will never deal with Chapel Hills again, the customer is unimportant and the deal is all that matters. As a veteran I do business with people that care about their customers and make sacrifices to help the customer the same way, I made sacrifices for my country and my family. Samantha Tracey is a shinning example of what it means to truly care for her customers and guarantee a family safety. Samantha Tracey is the reason my family is safe today and I will count on her from here on out. In my opinion Samantha Tracey and the team at Phil Long Motor City are a great example of what integrity is all about. More
I was very impressed with Joshua. He was consistently professional and was extremely knowledgable about the vehicle we wanted to buy.
