Linh is the man. He's HONEST. He's RELIABLE. He's down to earth. He doesn't give you that uncomfortable car buying/shopping feeling/experience. He makes you feel right at home. He is the MAN. I think that when you review a car dealership, you need to differentiate between the buying experience and service experience. I can't yet attest to the parts and service side of Toyota Penske, so this rev to differentiate between the buying experience and service experience. I can't yet attest to the parts and service side of Toyota Penske, so this review is for the buying experience only. Buying my first new car, I was admittedly nervous. Let's face it, car salesmen don't have the best reputation for being the most up-front and honest business men, and some people (myself included) get downright paranoid about getting swindled. Lin Lahm's approach is different from the typical "I'll start high, you start low, and we meet in the middle" model to car negotiation. His mindset is that life is too short to negotiate. Lin starts low... period. He won't make as much of a profit, but he'll sell more cars that way and have happier repeat customers. And believe me, the prices he quotes really are a steal. I got a quote for a 2013 Toyota Corolla over the phone and he let me know that the price was non-negotiable. I thought "That's odd... aren't car dealers supposed to negotiate?" and decided to call a number of other dealerships to see if they could match the price. When the closest quote I got was $50.00 more a month (and, I might add, for a even lower-end model!) I knew Lin was the guy to deal with. Lin personally met with me on his day off to seal the deal. All in all the total experience took less than 90 minutes, and most of that involved me on the phone getting insurance settled. I might also add that I changed the color preference on him the last second from a silver to metallic grey. His guys worked overtime to get my new color choice ready to go. In addition, on the phone, Lin had told me about a recent college graduate discount that Toyota had and included that in his initial quote. He had just come back from vacation, and on the day I came in found out that rebate had been discontinued. But he still honored our original price! I worked with Linh Lam and his team in the Fleet Department for the lease and was so impressed that I returned again, to be blown away with fast, efficient, intelligent expertise in sales without the games of conventional car sales.
