I went to Pape Subaru to find a used car within my finance company's strict limits, and David found me a 2007 Ford Fusion that is perfect for me! David and the staff at Pape Subaru made my purchase an enjoyable one...imagine that. I enjoyed the experience, what a unique experience. I was in the market to buy a new 2013 Subaru Outback and decided to check online for reviews of different Subaru Dealerships close to my home. Pape Subaru had great reviews and then I checked out individual decided to check online for reviews of different Subaru Dealerships close to my home. Pape Subaru had great reviews and then I checked out individual sales agents at Pape and found that David Lara had lots of favorable reviews. Called up Pape and asked to speak to David to set up an appointment for my wife and I to test drive the new 2013 Outbacks. One hour later, we were at the dealership with David waiting to greet us. He let us test drive two different Outbacks, discussed different features of the new Outbacks and we decided that we liked the Silver one. In the past, I have had bad experiences in buying new cars with lots of pressure but David was very different with no pressure, no sales tricks, etc. Just a friendly sales person who was willing to work with us to reach an agreeable price. Within a short time, we agreed on a great price for the new car that met all of our needs. Bob Schulte, the General Sales Manager also helped us make this happen. We got a new Outback with no pressure tactics which made it a very pleasurable buying experience. Since Pape participates in the Subaru Guaranteed Buy-Back program, I was able to trade in my 2008 Outback to complete the deal. By early afternoon, we were heading home in our new Outback. I would highly recommend this dealership and especially David. More
Being very overdue for an oil change with a tight schedule, I was extremely happy to obtain an appt that met my needs 100%. At the same time, the staff showed me where a part to my new Subaru was tu schedule, I was extremely happy to obtain an appt that met my needs 100%. We were in the market for a used car... something great on gas and affordable. We looked at the dealership we typically go to and their selection just was not what we expected. From the moment we spoke to David we knew our experience was going to be great. However we never expected it to be so smooth and fun! That is right I used the word "fun" in describing our car buying experience. He listened to what we had to say and was sensitive with our price point. Never once did we feel like we were being sold. The day we went to pick up our 2010 Kia Forte he had even bought small gifts for the kids. The entire family walked away with a smile on their face. When we are ever in the market to purchase a vehicle in the future we will go nowhere else other than Pape Subaru. They are in the business of relationship building and just happen to sell cars. They have customers for life! I highly recommend this dealership. More
I brought my car in to have the side mirrors looked at (they wiggle beyond normal when I drive). I have only owned the car 6 months and they have done this since I bought the car but I had never made it b (they wiggle beyond normal when I drive). So, I got my oil changed and had the mirrors assessed. I was told that that the mirrors were fine, which is fine, but odd given that I've owned multiple Subarus and never had this problem before. As I was pulling out of the dealership driveway, I went to adjust my mirrors (they had been left in less than useful positions), and the switch needed to control the mirrors fell forward into the inner dash area. I returned to the dealership and was informed that I would need to pay to have that fixed and he would need to order the part. I informed him that I did not have this problem prior to coming in for service. He assured me this was an unfortunate coincidence. I was shocked and appalled. I will certainly not be servicing my vehicle there ever again. Also, just a side note...at the service desk was a whiteboard with a sign that listed cars that the dealership was in DESPERATE need of...mine happened to be listed...a 2009 automatic Forester. While waiting for my service, I called the sales dept and asked what they would give me in trade for a new car. I was given an offensively low offer of $12,500 so without much to go on, I would say that perhaps this is not the best place to buy and/or trade in a vehicle either. More

First experience with any Pape dealership and an excellent one it was! When I arrived, David wasn't immediately available (we didn't have an exact time figured out) but he had one of the sales people ready with keys to test drive a Forester that he thought would fit my need and to take a look at my trade. Image that, someone who respects that I have limited time and is prepared to make sure that time is spent efficiently, I was impressed! Test drive by myself too! Wow! It drives me nuts that a sales rep HAS to drive with me like I might steal or go for joy ride, impressed even more! Came back to the dealership, David met me, apologized that he wasn't able to meet with me when I came in and was almost done with his current customer but asked if I needed anything. I asked to see a model with leather, he quickly handed me keys to a "Limited" asked if I wanted to test drive it as he'd have plates put on, I passed, just wanted to sit in it. In a few minutes I was back in the dealership. He had numbers clearly written down, none of this "trade difference" with magical sales terminology that somehow was suppose to mesmerize me with "if we can get you where you need to be... will you buy this vehicle within the next .5 seconds..." Nope, just said, "I know your time is limited, this is where we are, bring your wife in for another test drive if you like and give me call if you have questions." Wow! My wife and I came back that night, worked a reasonable deal, picked up our 2012 Subaru Forester Premium with the cold weather package that Saturday. Love it! I was trading a VW Sportwagon TDi because we live on a road with a hill and even with snow tires it is with lots of work and worry that we may not get up the hill. VW was horrible in snow and we really needed the AWD of the Subaru. No snow yet to test it out but I have no doubt it will not be a problem Thanks David! Thanks Keri (she was behind the scenes working the numbers)! One of the best experiences buying a car in a long time. I would HIGHLY recommend Pape Subaru and the great team over there! Outstanding Customer Service, excellent work ethic, friendly, no pressure, good price. Pape is what "makes Subaru a Subaru" for Maine! More
