We have found that the staff, work quality and overall experience has been consistently at a high level. Winston has been our service coordinator for each experience and he takes great care of us. It speaks to the quality of an operation when the same people are there to assist time after time. In addition to the great service delivery, the pricing is very reasonable, which is something you might not expect from a dealership service department. Combine the pricing, (we did compare pricing) service level and the piece of mind which comes with factory trained (and backed) technicians, and we are very satisfied with our choice to use Palmer to service our vehicle. We'll be back, should the need arise... More

If you're buying a new car (or a used one, I suspect) pay very close attention to what they are sending to their vendors on your behalf. Ask to see and approve everything they submit for your title (mine was done in the wrong name - I wonder how long it will take to fix that!) and for your other services like SiriusXM (I had access to other vehicles I didn't buy even after they were sold to other customers and fixing that was a lot of work with the people at various divisions at SiriusXM). You really do have to pay attention for the people at PD - and maybe my situation was a total anomaly - but I suggest you really pay close attention. On the good side of buying a car there, they do keep promises and they have great selection. If you're servicing a vehicle here, you are in good hands. The only suggestion I have for you is that you don't talk to the service manager at all. Ever. He is obviously VERY good at putting the right people in the right places because their technicians are very good. Where he falls down is that (at least in my case) he responds to ANYTHING I say with utter contempt and disdain. Everything he hears is a prompt to argue. It could just be a personality conflict I suppose, but I'd err on the side of caution in dealing with him. The service advisers are top notch. I suggest doing everything to take care of your vehicle here from tires and oil to repairs. While the dealer won't always be the cheapest option, they are always going to get the details correct. Plus they honor manufacturer coupons on tires, and if you handle all your rotations and tire purchases here, you can very easily ask for prorations on tread wear warranties too! That saves a TON of money on tires alone. More

I have oversized tires and agreed I would pay the difference from standard tires to oversize when I bought it. I have had nothing but problems since then. They can never find my contract and treat me like I’m stupid and have no idea what I’m talking about. Around and around we go every freakin time I go in. Now today, on my last oil change - the service advisor tells me my contract doesn’t cover tire rotation and I have to pay full price for them to be rotated. Seriously? i have had nothing but trouble from the dealership. In a separate run in, My extended warranty covered my engine to be rebuilt but the dealership tried to charge me $550 because their technician couldn’t diagnose my engine issue within the allotted time and the extended warranty company wouldn’t cover it! I’m done. I will never go back. More

Deceptive Service Practices and Horrible Customer Service To preface this, it's not the first time I’ve had my car serviced at Palmer Dodge. I have had good experiences until the most recent. In addition, whi To preface this, it's not the first time I’ve had my car serviced at Palmer Dodge. I have had good experiences until the most recent. In addition, while other service associates were nice, my issue is with my encounter with Winston. I dropped my car off on Saturday, July 8th to address critical recalls on my vehicle. When asked if I had any other concerns, I replied: “My windshield washer doesn’t hold in fluid and my brakes vibrate when engaged above 45 mph”. He said he would check them out. I got a call from Winston at 3:09 pm the same day stating that the problem with the windshield washer was that I needed replacement hoses, about $95, and they checked the brakes and you need new pads. He stated that the rotors and everything else was fine, but the pads had about .33 inches left on them and they recommend replacement pads on all four wheels, about $500. I said that that was pricey, so I authorized the replacement of the hoses, but said I will call him back on the brakes. Since it was the weekend he said to call him back before 5 pm or on Monday morning. Today (Monday morning) I called the service center at spoke to Winston at 7:41 am to authorize the replacement of the pads and asked for an oil change. I also asked if they had any specials I could take advantage of that could give me a break on price. He said no, but I’ll look into taking 10% off and I will call you once we are done. I then looked online to find a coupon for replacement brake pads for $190 (expires 7/31). I called back to the service department at 11:13 am, spoke to a woman and asked if they would honor the coupon I found. She said yes and to bring it in when I picked up the car. I got the call at 2:57 pm to pick up the car. I arrive at the shop, waited for Winston to finish his call and presented the coupon. First, he said that he already provided 10% off and I couldn’t use two discounts. So I asked, which one was the better deal. Instead of calculating the differences, he read the coupon and found the statement that said “refacing/machining extra”. Then explains to me that my rotors needed to be resurfaced. I told him that is not what he explained on Saturday, and that while he (as the professional) may know that the replacement of pads should automatically include rotor resurfacing, that is NOT what he told me on the phone. “Well if that is what you heard”. No, that is what you told me. I suggested that he should be more clear on what is needed with each service. He simply stared at me as the rest of the people behind the counter did. They DID not honor the coupon. They didn’t even give me the oil change I requested. What I find more disappointing is the lack of customer service. No one said “Sorry for the misunderstanding”, not even a thank you for bringing your car in for service. Interesting enough, I have two coupons printed for the same $190 price and the second one says that resurfacing rotors/drums are included. Deceptive practices, and poor, poor customer service. I feel cheated. I will never return to this service center and I will be sure to warn everyone about Winston. More
