Once I bought the car they told me they needed to swap the custom wheels for standard wheels since I bought the showroom car. They said they will keep the tech on site to make the swap. Once the purchase was completed, they said the tech left and I could not take the car I just purchased because they can't take their wheels off. They tried SCAMMING from the time I walked through the door. To top it off, they charged me $400 to handle the DMV stuff and get my plates sent to me. Instead they sent them to the dealershipp and said I needed to pay $25 to ship them to me. Everyone knows USPS can ship these for less than $5. Customer service is also TERRIBLE. More

I was just there today picking up my plates and he sat with me and explained some of the features in my car. I highly recommend Open Road Mazda in Morristown and Mike in their sales department. More
They Do the Right Thing After visiting two other dealers without being impressed, I agreed to see Marty after my son went for a test drive of the 2014 CX-5 earlier in the day After visiting two other dealers without being impressed, I agreed to see Marty after my son went for a test drive of the 2014 CX-5 earlier in the day. Marty was knowledgeable and pleasant without being the least pushy--I really hate dealing with car salesmen but he was the exception. I was sold on the car -- and the manufacturer rebate certainly sealed the deal. While waiting for the paperwork to be drawn up, I was greeted by two more salesmen who, along with Marty, explained the rebate programs were not working on this car--and, since the technical difficulty was not my fault, were going to lease me the 2015 AW drive model at the exact same price since it wasn't my fault! Who does that anymore? So instead of the FW 2014, I left the dealer with the 2015 AW. I am so pleased to have found a dealer I can feel comfortable returning to - the two other dealers seemed bored and uninterested (is business really that good?). More
Before starting from home, I called the dealership and asked for Out of the door price. I was given a price, but when I went their they asked for additional $900 in fees. My Manager was probably very very asked for Out of the door price. I was given a price, but when I went their they asked for additional $900 in fees. My Manager was probably very very rude. I will never recommend anyone to visit this dealership. More
Bought a car and helped a local charity, too. I'm happy to give this store a big thumbs up. I was going to wait until my current lease was over before upgrading to a 2014 model, but I got a phone ca happy to give this store a big thumbs up. I was going to wait until my current lease was over before upgrading to a 2014 model, but I got a phone call from the dealership offering to get me out of my lease early. Additionally, they said they would donate money toward a local charity if I switched before the end of the year. As a fundraiser in the area myself, I was glad to help. I managed to trade in my old car, get a newer model, keep my payment the same and help St Judes Children's Hospital. They even made the donation in my name right from the dealership. I think it's a win-win. More
You would think that Black Friday would be a terrible time to buy a car. I went prepared for big, obnoxious, crowds and pushy sales people. I brought my husband for moral support (who was less than thr time to buy a car. I went prepared for big, obnoxious, crowds and pushy sales people. I brought my husband for moral support (who was less than thrilled) and lots of snacks (I get cranky when I don't eat). We arrived around 9:30 after stopping at some other local shops. I was happy to find that there was no big crowd and everyone working there seemed pleasant enough. My husband and I had done our homework online and knew exactly what we wanted and what we wanted to pay for it. The internet makes this so easy if you know what sites to use. A word or advise: price your car before going to the dealership using three or four different web sites. All of the prices should be very close to each other. If one is WAY OFF, you know something is up. I used to work in retail marketing and know that everyone's profit margins are about the same. If a deal seems too good to be true, believe me it is. Don't bother trying to convince the sales staff that you can get an unreasonable price...you'll just end up frustrating both of you (I'm speaking from experience from both sides). Anyway, we took the average price from three websites and headed out to buy our CX9. We were greeted at the door by Marty who was very pleasant. We let him know that we did our homework and what we were looking for. He was good about moving along at a comfortable pace. We didn't feel rushed, but it certainly didn't drag along either. We test drove a CX9 Grand Touring model (the one we researched) even though we had already made the 90% decision to buy it. We weren't disappointed by the drive. It matched all of the reviews that we had read. It was sporty, but really comfortable. It handled really well and didn't feel "mushy" like our previous SUV. And, we really appreciated all of the standard features. We liked that we didn't have to pay extra for the backup camera, side monitors, bluetooth, and too much other stuff to mention. We took advantage of the available rebates and financed the car for 60 months (no penalty for paying it off early!). I don't have anything negative to say about the car or the dealership. Everything went smoothly, probably because we had done so much research and had reasonable expectations. I never needed my copious snacks and we weren't there long enough for my husband to get impatient. A win-win situation for everyone. More
My wife and I came for a particular car. We weren't shopping for any new car. We wanted to trade in our 2005 MX-5, for a new 2014 model. It had to be red. In the entire country, there were only a few a shopping for any new car. We wanted to trade in our 2005 MX-5, for a new 2014 model. It had to be red. In the entire country, there were only a few available. Within 3 days of our visiting the dealership, I received a call from Anthony. Between him and the dealership, Open Road Mazda found the exact car we wanted, had it delivered to the dealership, and that night we were driving home in the car we wanted. The way I see it, they went above and beyond to get us exactly what we wanted, and we didn't get ripped off. When my wife is ready for a new MX-5, Open Road Mazda will be our first, and probably only stop. I hope Anthony is still there when that time comes. More
First let me say, but I wasn't going to write a review. I actually bought my car a few weeks ago, and didn't think it was anything special. I felt like it was just a normal buying experience. Ever review. I actually bought my car a few weeks ago, and didn't think it was anything special. I felt like it was just a normal buying experience. Everyone was nice, and everyone was friendly, but he didn't move me enough to write a review. Today, however, it was a different story. I brought my car in for its free oil change. I was met by the service manager, Tony, who is very nice and personable. While my oil was being changed, I asked if someone could help me update the maps in my navigation system. They introduced me to the general manager, Paul, who was very helpful. At Paul's suggestion, I took the Sims card out of the car and try to download the maps myself using my Mac computer. I couldn't get it to work. Paul was very patient and spent over an hour with me trying to get the maps updated. We both had a lot of problems using my laptop. When all was said and done, the maps were updated and we reinstalled the Sims card into my car. I'm so grateful that Paul was able to help. If it weren't for him, it would never have gotten done. The TomTom manual was very confusing. He was extremely gracious and willing to help for long as it took. It's that kind of service that I really appreciate, and prompted me to write the review. I will definitely bring my car back to the open road team. More
I drove all the way from Monmouth County to buy a car from these guys. I have alway bought my cars from the Open Road group. They are no nonsense, straight forward, and friendly. We did our homework before shopping and knew reasonable prices for the car and expected fees. They were well within our expectations. After a little negotiation, we even got a pretty good deal on installed roof racks. Over all, this was by far the easiest car purchase we ever made. My only other comment was that it took a long time for them to wash the car before we could take it home (more than 30 minutes). More
