Hello Mark, My name is Robert and I am the General Manager. I have been made aware of your interaction with our service department. Our service department went through the GM recommendations to diagnose your vehicle with a certified technician. It's my understanding that after being quoted for your lifter issue, we had tried to assist you by fighting with General Motors to try to get them to assist you. Based on the year and the mileage of your vehicle, the amount of help they offered was not to your liking. As for your local mechanic replacing a spark plug, I'm not sure why, as there were no misfire codes in the history of your vehicle. Regarding the lifter issue, when they are going bad, they are known to begin failing sporadically. With that being said, I appreciate you giving us the opportunity and if there is anything that we can help with in the future you are always welcome back.

You group did not attempt to assist me I took it upon myself to contact Cadillac. At 101,438 miles there was a cylinder head failure which had to be replaced, curious why the lifters weren't replaced then since the engine was already apart. At 109,816 I noticed a ticking noise and brought it into your group and was told the lifters were bad and would need to be replaced at a cost of $5,105.80. I took it to my local mechanic, and he found that a bad spark plug WIRE was causing the ticking sound. I then reached out to your service department and requested a credit of $250.00 for the diagnostics charges where I was told no and that I should still proceed with changing out the lifters.
