This is my second try at this letter so if you received the first one it may not be word for word, but I didn't click on the "Terms Of Use" because I thought it was dealing with "pop-ups". This is my seco the first one it may not be word for word, but I didn't click on the "Terms Of Use" because I thought it was dealing with "pop-ups". This is my second new Santa Fe that I have purchased from Tarbox, but I am not very please with the overall experience. First, I realize that we were very limited on the color, but my wife expressed an interest in the new tan color but we were shown a sage one that looked tan under the yellow lights (this was my fault for buying a car at night). Fortunately, my wife actually loves the color, so it is not a problem. Second, I asked if the motor was a 3.3 and was told it was, when I got the car home and gave it a good going over, I discovered it was a 2.7 motor. That's okay because it has enough power and I am pleased with the overall performance. Of course, I still have to wait until 1200 miles before I can find out how it does over 55 MPH. Third, as for the price of the Sante Fe, I was not that impressed, I was told they could keep my payments around my previous one of $375 per month, fortunately, through my persistence, I was able to get my payments down to $335 per month. Fourth, I was not very happy about the trade-in value I received, I did some checking before I went to the dealership and found that my 2004 Santa Fe was worth $7200 (fair) and $8200 (excellent). The 2004 was low mileage (38,000) and had always been serviced at Tarbox. Fifth, when I purchased my 2004, I bought the extended warranty and was told I could receive a refund by requesting one and that the information would be sent to me. When we received the booklet, there was no indication that it came from Tarbox and my wife almost threw it away thinking it was junk mail. Sixth, I did purchase the Simonize protection and was under the impression that someone would contact me when I could have the work done. Seventh, the turn signal does not always cancel when making a left turn and must be turned off manually. I was planing to have this checked out when I brought the Santa Fe in for the Simonize work. Eighth, once I got the Santa Fe home, I noticed it didn't have a cargo screen like my 2004, so after a couple of days, I called to ask if I could purchase one and what the price would be. I was told they would get back to me, but I never heard a word since then. Please don't get me wrong, we love our new 2008 and are very happy with it, and I will continue to have my vechile serviced at Tarbox, it was that the overall experience was not what I had anticipated, because my first experience was much better. I have told other people to go to Tarbox but not to expect a great deal unless you're willing to fight for one. In closing, when I purchased my new pickup at Tasca, it was a much more pleasant, the sales, service, etc. I will say I am very happy that you have improved your waiting room for service conditions. I probably will be purchasing a second new car in a couple of years hopefully time will heal this experience. More
Purchasing a vehicle, particularly in this economy, can be challenging at best. However, my experience with Tarbox was wonderful from start to finish. Matt Remsen, Sales Consultant, was helpful with all be challenging at best. However, my experience with Tarbox was wonderful from start to finish. Matt Remsen, Sales Consultant, was helpful with all aspects of my decision making process. I needed to trade in my Escape; for which I was upside down with payments. And, I wanted a vehicle with excellent gas mileage; but with a color that was appealing to me. The Accent was my first choice; but didn't have the bells & whistles I was accustomed to. Matt suggested the Elantra, as an alternative; but still maintaining good gas mileage. Tarbox didn't have the color I wanted, with the features I was looking for. Yet, in the end, Matt and the management team went above & beyond to make me happy with a silver Elantra with leather interior. I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend Tarbox Toyota (as well as Matt Remsen) to my friends & family. More
Mr. Hansen is an excellant salesman. He was very polite, professional, knowledgeable and patient with my wife and I during our experience buying a new Sonata. I would recommend him to any friend or f polite, professional, knowledgeable and patient with my wife and I during our experience buying a new Sonata. I would recommend him to any friend or family member of ours. Kevin Daignan was also very helpful to us, as he shares all the same attributes that Robert has when he helped us with the financial arrangements of our purchase. More
With the exception of the wait with the finance department,(it was a very busy Saturday afternoon) the process was wonderful! Went in to the heavily advertised "Tarbox Big Lot" on route 2, trying to get a feel for what kind/style of car I was going to get to replace my muscle car. All I got was harassed and insulted. Wanted to route 2, trying to get a feel for what kind/style of car I was going to get to replace my muscle car. All I got was harassed and insulted. Wanted to just go look around on the lot, and was immediately taken inside by a salesperson, who suggested I buy a nice used Hyundai Accent hatchback they had just taken in. This guy was unbelievably pushy, and when I did purchase a vehicle weeks later, this was the first dealership I crossed off my list. I would never recommend anyone walk in and deal with these sleazebags. I even sent an email to the general manager, and Mr. Tarbox himself. Never got a response. So much for caring about your dealership! More
