John the finance dept liar made the entire purchase experience of a 2011 Sonota Limited unpleasant. Ed Tarbox advertises that you may call his "cell phone" if you have any questions, concerns, or comm experience of a 2011 Sonota Limited unpleasant. Ed Tarbox advertises that you may call his "cell phone" if you have any questions, concerns, or comments about your experience at one of his dealerships. Guess what! He doesn't even bother to call you back after a message is left on his cellphone voicemail....Someone at the Tarbox Co's needs to tell me why I would want to purchase another vehicle from them. This recent purchase(10/31/2010) was our second vehicle purchased from Tarbox Hyundai........will it be our last? More
Tarbox Hyundai in Warwick RI has been a great expericence for me. Not only did they help me with the payments I needed to keep within my monthly budget, but they stand behind the the vehicle they sold me. for me. Not only did they help me with the payments I needed to keep within my monthly budget, but they stand behind the the vehicle they sold me. We purchased used, but they ensured the vehicle was fixed and looked like "new" without paying extra, and not only did they fix a little scratch or dent here or there, they also detailed the car. Most places just concentrate on the issue and nothing else. Everyone is friendly, and not only when you are purchasing the car, but afterwards...and that's really important to me. In today's economy we are looking for a great deal and the most for our money without added expenses. Tarbox delivered. And a special "Thank you" to Mr. Ed Tarbox for making sure his company is operating the right way. For once, I didn't feel I was dealing with a scam artist! Which has happened in the past. My husband and I are stress free and able to enjoy a car that is "new to us". Also, I love that the service area is open late, especially for people that have an unusual work schedule. Just-in-case you think you might want to deal somewhere else...and the reason I'm praising Tarbox Hyundai. Here is a true car buying experience: Three years ago we purchased a vehicle from a Ford MA dealership. #1 the dealership promised us free Sirus radio for 6 months, which we never recieved, in fact the dealer never disclosed that the vehicle we purchased didn't even have the chip in order to recieve this service. They kept saying it would take time for the connection...after a month the truth comes out. #2 The door locks freeze up (yes, even in the slightest cold spell we are talking March!) and I was told "Ford" will not spend the money to fix this issue because we basically bought a cheap car and you get what you pay for...the car was brand new...so we were issued a can of whatever to spray into our locks so on cold mornings I can get into my car, hopefully! #3 In order to prove we were mis-lead the Ford dealership somehow made our salesperson no longer available to us for questioning, and #4 Soon after our purchase of our new vehicle the dealership closed so now we have to utilize another dealship for warrenty issues. Hopefully, if you are reading this...It will help when it comes to purchasing a new or used car. Tarbox Hyundai is the place to go, and turst me I would have not taken the time to write this if I felt they were not above expectations. A truly great experience. You'll see! Sincerely, Julie Doire More
WE HAVE DEALT WITH MANY CAR DEALERS IN OUR TIME AND EVEN WORKED FOR ONE. YOU USUALLY HAVE A NEGATIVE ATTITUDE WHEN YOU START TO SHOP FOR AUTOS, BUT IN ALL OUR DEALINGS WE HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED SUCH A CONSI WORKED FOR ONE. YOU USUALLY HAVE A NEGATIVE ATTITUDE WHEN YOU START TO SHOP FOR AUTOS, BUT IN ALL OUR DEALINGS WE HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED SUCH A CONSIDERATE PROFESSIONAL GROUP OF PEOPLE. OUR SALESMEN ROBERT MADE SURE WE UNDERSTOOD EVERYTHING ABOUT THE CAR AND COMPANY. PAUL THE BUSINESS MANAGER MADE SURE WE UNDERSTOOD EVERYTHING WE WERE SIGNING. EVERYONE WE CAME IN CONTACT WITH WAS POLITE AND COURTEOUS. WE WOULD RECOMMEND TARBOX HYUNDAI TO OUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY. More
Pulled up to Tarbox Hyundai thinking I might be in good hands considering all the commercials I see and the good reputation I assumed they had. Looks can be deceiving. As to be expected I was immediately a hands considering all the commercials I see and the good reputation I assumed they had. Looks can be deceiving. As to be expected I was immediately approached by the sales guy Robert Hansen. I don't have much to say about him, at this point, considering he quickly picked up that I wasn't too interested in small talk and more interested in test driving a car. I asked to see the Accents with manual transmission. Got in one and the thing doesn't turn over so he has to get his jump box to start it. Bad sign. Drive down the street to the gas station to fill it up. Annoying. I decided not to drive it any further since it doesn't start once again after he fills the tank. Go back to Tarbox and try out an automatic. We come back and I tell him I'm not satisfied with either and I may come back the next day. He follows up with me by phone and tells me about all the "labor day savings" they were supposedly having, which gave me an incentive to give Tarbox another go. I do some homework on a 2009 Accent they had on the lot and came back. Gave it a drive, felt interested but only if I could get a good deal. The list price was 11,290, which according to my research was a bit much for this car. So we go and sit down and he gives me the price. I offer him 9,000, low-balling it, planning on spending 10 for it. He acts as if I'm completely nuts and tells me there is no way the manager is going any lower than 11,290. I ask him to go see what he can do. He does. Comes back, low and behold the manager takes it down to 10, 450. I'm still not satisfied and tell him to go lower. He walks away and brings the manager back. We shake hands, he acts like we're old friends, and all that sleazy car dealer bunk. He gives me a new figure 10, 199 and walks away. I'm still not satisfied. I make the offer to Robert. 10 thousand even. He basically tells me if I take the car today we may have a deal. I leave to make a phone call and come back. I tell him 10 with the Powertrain warranty thrown in. He flips his xxxx like I'm crazy and goes back to the manager. They are "serious" now and go into the office with some other guy. Robert comes back, circles the 10, 199 and says I can have it for that with the warranty and they absolutely would not go lower. Still not good enough for me. I tell him 10 and we may have a deal. At this point Robert is noticeably annoyed, beginning to show his true colors. I ask to see the Carfax (which I SHOULD have asked for BEFORE I even stepped foot in the car. That was mistake # 1 for me. Turns out it was a RENTAL bought at AUCTION, not a trade-in like I foolishly assumed.) So, to make an already long story short, the manager comes back with a serious attitude. He asks me "What is your favorite dessert?" I refuse to answer him. He keeps asking. I tell him I don't want to play that game and he gets IRATE with me. He is yelling at this point, trying to make some insinuation that I am trying to ROB him and steal from his family. He rips the Carfax out of my hand and starts stomping over to the desk to give me back my credit card, mumbling along the way "this guy busting my xxxxx over 200 bucks!". He then says something like "here's your card now get the xxxx out of here." I was in shock of how rude and unprofessional the MANAGER of this place was acting. I stormed out of there yelling "Maybe I'll go over to Pride Hyundai and see what kind of deal they'll give me!". Can you imagine the nerve of this guy, yelling at me in front of customers!? I will NEVER step foot in any of Tarbox gangster run car dealerships again. More

I was EXTREMELY impressed with her proficiency of the various aspects of the Hyundai line. I felt like she went above and beyond as far as being extensive and courteous, and I hadnt even been to the dealership yet! The following day I went to the dealership to take a look at the SUV Rebecca and I had discussed, I was impressed with the cleanliness of the facility and the overall demeanor of the staff, very friendly but not pushy which is exactly what I was looking for. Well as for the SUV, I drove it away that day. If you havent driven a Hyundai lately you have no idea what your missing out on. Kudos to Mr Tarbox and the entire staff of the dealership for making this purchase a very pleasant experience. A new and I anticipate very loyal customer Mike Grenier More
me and my son went in to tarbox to buy his 1st car. when i got out of my car there were 10 salespeople all standing by the door smoking, swearing and making perverted gestures. salesperson named brian greete i got out of my car there were 10 salespeople all standing by the door smoking, swearing and making perverted gestures. salesperson named brian greeted me and i told him what i was there for. i told him that i was looking to spend 10-12k. i told him that i looked online and there were 4-5 cars that were in my price range. i told them on what they were and he named off problems on each car on why i shouldnt buy the internet priced cars. he kept insisting to come look at this 03 hyundai, 03 kia and 01 buick that he just took in trade and that they were the cars that we would love. we didnt like any of the cars that he showed us,then the salesman got an attitude and was very short with us. we walked up and down the lot and when i asked him about cars that peaked my interest, his answers would be that it was way out of my price range, or that i couldnt afford this car, or this car is a little out of my league.etc. after about an hour of trying to find a car. we found a car, and we negiotiated a deal on the car that we purchased. this is when it went from bad to worse. when we met the finance lady. this girl was the most arrogant and rude girl that i have ever met. the first thing that comes out of her mouth is that i got extremely lucky that she was able to get me approved. now we bought the car for 10999. i put 3000 down, had no trade and my c.s.i have a 780 c.s. she then told me that the only way the bank would approve the loan is if we bought the extended warranty. so i got the 2 year warranty. later when i got home i was looking at my paperwork and she put the 4 year warranty and there was another $500 for gap , which i didnt ask for. and the warranty that i bought was $1500. the one that she put in was $3000. i go back to the dealership and she tells me that is what we aggreed on and the paperwork is done. i had to talk to the mgr. Ed (which he was very nice) and as we were redoing the paperwork she is giving me the evil eye and not talking, just pointed to were to sign. and as i was walking out of her office she calls me an xxxxxxx. i asked her what did she say and ignored that i was talking to her More
Salesman was very nice and courteous with helping me choose a car that fit my budget and my needs. When we got inside I had to wait 30 minutes to discuss any numbers. The sales manager was extremely u choose a car that fit my budget and my needs. When we got inside I had to wait 30 minutes to discuss any numbers. The sales manager was extremely unprofessional and answered his cell phone in the middle of our discussion and never came back. This left the salesman with the uncomfortable task of creating useless conversation with me while we waited. This is not the way you treat your "valued customers." I was still very interested in purchasing the car we discussed but because of his inconsiderate actions I walked out. They low-balled my trade. After I had told them it was unacceptable they came back with $2500 more which was still lower than any other dealership had offered. They also would not budge a single dollar on the used car I was interested in. Overall this was a very unpleasant experience. I do not suggest this dealership. More
My wife and I were very impressed with the professionalism, convenience, attentiveness and sensitivity we experienced and received. I utilized the Internet portion of the dealership's featur professionalism, convenience, attentiveness and sensitivity we experienced and received. I utilized the Internet portion of the dealership's features as I travel extensively and could take the time required to physically shop for a vehicle. The detail of the internet experience was above the norm expected. The detail of the responses and the timeliness of the responses was also above average. The sale was smooth, uneventful and a true pleasure to experience. We will be back, I am confident of that and we will be recommending this dealership and the team to others. Thank you very much. NEVER, NEVER!!! Car listed at $27,000, received $700.00 off list price, what kind of year-end deal is that. Vehicle had 104 miles. I was told $1000.00 came off list price. Sad to say after reading the sale off list price, what kind of year-end deal is that. Vehicle had 104 miles. I was told $1000.00 came off list price. Sad to say after reading the sales agreement found it was less therefore, really didn't get any great deal. After speaking with salesman, was told they don't offer big discounts as they aren't big auto dealers as some other dealers. Buyer beware!!! DEMAND TO SEE EVERYTHING IN WRITING OR GO TO A FORD DEALERSHIP!!! More

I had done much research regarding the vehicle of choice and was prepared to visit several dealerships. This was my second visit, and was hoping to reach an acceptable price since this dealership is nearest to my residence. I was very pleased when Eddy made me an offer that was hard to pass by. This saved me a lot of time in finalizing my decision. More
