I traveled from Lancaster, PA to check out a Honda Element I saw on line. My time at NuCar was positive from the start. Jay Mikesell, the sales person was warm and friendly. I would have to say everyone is friendly and eager to help you out and drive out with a new car. The only thing was when the car came out of the detailer and we were driving home we noticed we were almos help you out and drive out with a new car. Her up front honesty and caring personality offered a sense of peace for my family while making this financial decision. She offered professional and personal opinions which disclosed to my wife and I that we were not just a quota attempted to be met. The financial rep Mr. Sam, was the icing on the cake. He broke down the numbers and reassured us, that we were getting the best deal possible. Both employee's displayed a strong sense of care for my family and our financial situation. I had the BEST experience at NuCar Chevrolet! After visiting other dealerships in the area and dealing with not-so friendly sales associates, NuCar Chevrolte was like a breath of fresh air! Karen Hoch visiting other dealerships in the area and dealing with not-so friendly sales associates, NuCar Chevrolte was like a breath of fresh air! Karen Hoch was fabulous! She was able to put me into a 2011 Chevy Tahoe within my budget and they even gave me a great deal on my trade-in, which was completely unexpected. Chuck, the Sales Manager, was also fabulous to work with and very friendly. Once the deal was made, Karen was very thorough in giving me an orientation on my new vehicle and ensuring I was all setup in it and good to go. Overall - this dealer was excellent. Today I wrote this letter to Tom Horning, Pre-Owned Sales Manager, Tom Horning, Last Year, My Fiance, Leah Creamer, walked out happy after dealing with Frank Dye, with a 2005 Chevy Aveo with almost 40K Manager, Tom Horning, Last Year, My Fiance, Leah Creamer, walked out happy after dealing with Frank Dye, with a 2005 Chevy Aveo with almost 40K miles and 1 month left on the warranty. The very next week we brought the car to a Chevy dealer in North Jersey to find that it was not worth anywhere near the $12K price Frank charged us (the other dealer and Blue book confirmed, said the car was worth no more than $8K with that mileage). When we called to complain , we were told, in an embarrassed voice that the high price was due to high demand for those types of cars. Needles to say we left with a very bad taste and will NEVER recommend this place to ANYONE. I know Franks job is sell the cars, but he didn't even mention that for a couple thousand more she could have been looking at brand new. VERY disappointing. Add to all this the car was NOT serviced at all before we received it, got it home (80 miles north in Woodbridge, NJ) to find it was low on antifreeze(it was also black had to be flushed($150) The same went for the Transmission Fluid/Filter($200) I expected to have to do maintenance, but not a week after i purchased the vehicle. Also the Plates took over a month to get, requiring my fiance to drive the 2 hour trip from woodbridge to pick them up. I'll be the first to admit, I was taken by Franks charm, they guy is good at what he does(that is, make people feel comfortable being paying more than a car is worth). I actually shook his hand and said I admired his honesty...his HONESTY!! Needless to say I felt foolish for "helping" my fiance find this car. Do not get me wrong she likes the Chevy Aveo, but even now, she and I just cant shake the feeling we got "taken for a ride". So there I was, I had been duped, I can deal with it. The worst was when Frank sent me a letter recently telling me he gets most of his business from referrals, and asking for just that from me...A REFERRAL!? Truth be told, we were referred by my Fiance's father and mother who's family has bought 5 cars from NuCar. We most likely will buy another Aveo, it just won't be from NuCar. Its unfortunate. Neither will anyone who we know if we have anything to say about it. A Classic Case of not doing my reasearch befor e laying down our hard earned money. Got me once NuCar...but NEVER AGAIN!! More
