He is the sole reason why we ended up going through with this deal. He was very honest, thorough, and knowledgeable. We also briefly worked with Karen and another woman in costing and they were both very kind and provided excellent customer service. However, our experience did not get off to the best start because of Brian. He is not an effective or professional communicator via email. I was looking for a very specific car that your dealership and one other in Maryland had in stock (mind you, we didn’t end up being able to get the one we originally came for, different story). In emailing with Brian, he led us to believe Nucar would cover tags and fees, which is why we chose your dealership and drove 1 hour and 45 minutes one way. I have the emails to back this up. When we arrived, we learned that this wasn’t true. I had asked for clarification and reassurance twice via email. Brian did not refute or correct our understanding, which led us to believe that they were covered. Upon arrival, we learned that they were not in fact covered like we thought, leaving us feeling swindled by a greasy car salesman due to a bait and switch situation and shady business practices. There were other mishaps during our experience but this was the one that irritated us the most because it seemed dishonest. We finished up signing the original contract with Montelongo who was low energy, seemed bored with the work he was doing, and never printed out our final documents like the female costing manager did the next day (we ended up having to drive up again the next day to resign everything for a different car, again, different story). Montelongo also wasn’t very knowledgeable on some of the programs he was trying to sell us as he couldn’t answer some of our questions. We were still finishing up after the dealership closed so I think he was just trying to get home as soon as he could. All in all, I would buy from your dealership again simply because of Jim. I’ve saved his business card for whenever we make another purchase, but wrote notes on the back to not work with Brian or Montelongo. They are a detriment to your business and if I were the GM, I’d be taking a closer look to see whether you are truly benefitting from having them on your team. More
