Newbold Toyota responded

It was a pleasure speaking with you Mr. Hayes. As I mentioned in our private emails, it is not the policy of Newbold Toyota to collect a non-refundable deposit. The standard amount for an ordered vehicle is $500. All deposits are applied towards teh purchase of the vehicle and are refundable. The $2,000 figure was the amount you said you were putting down so the sales person used that figure. We currently don't have an FR-S on the lot so your purchase would have to be an order. The FR-S is a limited production vehicle and currently we don't have any due in for the next two months or longer. With other dealers charging up to $5,000 over sticker, our pricing is what the market will currently bear but we will re-evaluate the market when we receive our next unit. We have heard stories of dealers taking orders for sticker and then not being able to get a vehicle or they sell the ordered vehicle for over sticker to another customer when it comes in. Please be careful not to become a victim of such practices.
