10000 mile first oil change and check up It was a nice routine visit. My Toyota Avalon was scheduled for its second maintenance at 10000 miles which included its first oil change. As I said It was a nice routine visit. My Toyota Avalon was scheduled for its second maintenance at 10000 miles which included its first oil change. As I said it was routine - in and out within an hour. Did my normal local driving for a couple of days and then I took a trip to New York City. As I was going up the NJ Turnpike my plastic cover that I am guessing covers the oil pan came loose and it started dragging. I pulled over and could not snap it back on or take it off so I had to put up with this into the city and then back home on the turnpike. I know it was a freak thing to happen but it was a bad time and in the wrong area. If I was still home I could have driven it back to Newark Toyota. I was trying to do the right thing by doing the maintenance before my day trip to New York City but as it turns out if I would have waited I would have avoided what happen going to New York. It could still have happened with a later service visit but I would have been home or nearby Toyota. More

Waiting never seems long because of the comfy chairs, fairly large tv, and endless coffee- and in the morning complimentary bagels and donuts. They act more like a concierge than a rep at a auto dealership. It's a pleasant experience right down to them walking you back to your car when it's finished! Won't go anywhere else now! More
