They are charging $3,000 above MSRP for people trading in Subaru's. They are charging $5,000 MSRP above for non Subaru owners. I can understand an up-charge due to the current market. They are also charging $1,000 above it if you are customizing and buying direct from Subaru. I spoke with another dealership after leaving there and they do NOT charge extra when buying direct from Subaru. Also, Theo (I think was his name) tried to tell me that used cars are depreciating in value. However, I presented them with a car at their Schaumburg location clearly listed above MSRP. Should note: this was the same car as mine will 5,000 less miles, however it did not have the optional package added like mine. I came in and they offered me $4,000 less for my car than what their website offered me. Also, they do not adhere to their 500 military incentive offered on their website. When I bought the car I was coming in to try and trade, they offered me less that 400 and told me it was only 100, "it's not that big of a deal". I went to a different Subaru dealership. Got offered $1,500 above MSRP with a package that was NOT included in the car Napleton offered me for $3,000 above. The location also offered me $3,500 more than Napleton Palatine for my trade-in. When I was leaving, I asked for his name and he refused to give it to me (Theo) and told me if I wasn’t buying a car to leave - which I already was. Then came out to my car AFTER he told ME to leave to try and talk more. Just do yourself a favor and avoid this location. More
Had Joe McAvoy as my salesman and despite all the negative reviews I saw going in for the dealership, he exceeded all expectations and I am thrilled to be buying a car from him.
