If you are a woman then look for an Acura elsewhere. You’ll notice that the 5 star reviews are from men and the 1-2 star reviews are from women. Take note! There’s a reason! I wasn’t aware of the Dealer Rater until the Car Mom told me about it so I am writing a review for a car experience that occurred in 2019. The sales person was nice but seemed more interested in speaking with my husband. My hubs kept reminding him that I was the one purchasing the car. I landed on the Acura MDX 2018 bc I wanted the Apple Car Play. I did my homework and walked in with a $ amount. I did the same with my Acura MDX trade-in. The sales person shared with me that he would give me $5K for my trade in and a specific amount for the 2018. We agreed on it, I said I would come back the next day and sign off on everything. Next day I returned and suddenly the sales rep says that we can’t agree on the 2018 price tag. I said then I can go elsewhere no problem, thank you for your time. He “talks to his manager” and says fine they’ll agree to the 2018 price. We begin the paperwork, all is well. As we are finalizing, the sales rep tells me “We aren’t able to give you $5K anymore for your trade-in we can only give you $3K.” I felt stuck. I was irritated and felt like it was a tricky sales tactic. I wasn’t going to lose the car for $2k, so I still moved forward. I was finished with the sales rep, and then it was the finance manager’s turn. He did his song and dance and I politely declined every thing he offered. He didn’t like that. I left his office around 7:30pm. I was told that someone would bring my car around shortly and I sat at one of the tables. After that no one spoke to me, checked on me, etc. ONE HOUR and THIRTY MINUTES later as everyone is packing up to leave for the night, they tell me my car is ready. The finance manager was pouting and basically punished me and left me sitting to wait for my car. This all disappoints me because when I bought my first Acura MDX it was in 2008 and my experience was so much different. Andy, our 2008 sales rep, was fantastic. He seemed very transparent and honest. The group at Acura now seem slimy and give car dealerships a bad name. So cliche and disappointing. More
I purchased a 2021 Acura Tech Pkg RDX in May 2021 from St Louis Acura. I was extremely happy with my purchase and the process of buying that vehicle. On October 6, 2021 I was in an accident with my “new” car Louis Acura. I was extremely happy with my purchase and the process of buying that vehicle. On October 6, 2021 I was in an accident with my “new” car. With all the active safety features in my RDX I was able to stop when the traffic in front of me came to an abrupt halt. The driver behind me apparently did not seethe near collisions in front of them and slammed into the back of my car going about 60 mph. As I mentioned at the top of this story, I was happy with my purchase in May, I was even MORE happy with it in October when it saved me from horrendous injuries, perhaps death. The 5-star rating is real. The bad news – in protecting me – it was damaged to the point of total loss.Which brings me to the next part of the story. Of course. I returned to St Louis Acura to purchase a replacement for my RDX. My new car is a 2021 A-Spec RDX! I took the opportunity to upgrade from the Tech Pkg. I want to commend and recommend a few people at St Louis Acura. As soon as my car was wrecked, I contacted my salesmen Dale Wilke. With agreement from the General Manager, Brad Gallibert, a no nonsense, genuinely great guy - was willing to put a car “on hold” for me in a very tight inventory situation, pending the final resolution from the insurance company. The process was very similar to my original purchase. Everyone at St Louis Acura was professional, helpful, beyond courteous and attentive to every detail. I cannot thank them enough for taking a very difficult situation and making it as seamless and effortless as was possible. Dale is a no hassle, to the point, straight shooter. At the time of closing the Finance manager Rick was terrific. Technology specialists Meredith and Sam were great. Meredith even helped solve the “how do I get my favorite radio stations on the home page”dilemma. Bottom Line - If you are in the market for a car you will find no group better than the people at St Louis Acura! Dave Wilke More
Another amazing experience with St. Louis Acura. Fourth Acura from this dealership and the experience continues to elevate. This time I had some particular needs which, due to personnel-change reasons, wer Acura from this dealership and the experience continues to elevate. This time I had some particular needs which, due to personnel-change reasons, weren't being met. Clayton gave me a call and sorted it out immediately. He was super friendly and helpful and set me right to work with Peter Mungenast looking for my next vehicle, which really was a process of discovery. I knew what I *thought* I wanted and everyone did their best to make that happen. Caveat: there's a global supply shortage right now and many manufacturers have delays. The car I decided on wouldn't be ready for a month -- during which time I, with Peter's knowledgeable and very patient help -- ended up deciding on a different model. The difference in my buying experience this time is that I needed a lot of information. Peter answered every question in-depth and gave me everything I needed to make the best choice. I had to drive the car several different times. And never once did I feel pressured or pushed to make a decision - in fact, it was fun (as car buying can be, I guess). I've said this in previous reviews, but I don't like to be sold. I want a partner in the process of decision-making, and Peter was exceptional at that. Also another shout out to Ryan Syberg in Service. Dealers say "Sales sells the first car, Service sells the rest." That's certainly true in Ryan's case; best service advisor I've ever worked with. If you're in the market for a new car, St. Louis Acura is where I would start. It may be the only place you'll need to go. More
I had an amazing experience purchasing my new Acura TLX Type S. They center their business around customer experience. With the current chip shortage the auto industry is operating in an interesting spac Type S. They center their business around customer experience. With the current chip shortage the auto industry is operating in an interesting space right now, and Mungenast St. Louis Acura is still building and maintaining long term relationships with their clients, rather than what some other dealers are doing, at clients expense, for a short term gain. One stand out thing is how they handle delivery. They don’t just set up your Bluetooth, and send you on your way. They truly take the time to teach you all of the quirks, buttons , and functionalities of the vehicle, and will sit with you and get anything set up just the way you like it. I sold my old car before my TLX arrived with Dylan, the acquisition specialist. He was great, very nice, knows cars, and had everything done accurately and efficiently. When I bought my TLX, I had a great rate from my credit union and Mungenast Acura was able to beat it. Another stand out thing they did was before submitting my credit, they went and made sure they would be able to actually beat my rate. This is another stand out thing about Mungenast St. Louis Acura. Unfortunately a lot of dealers would just “shotgun” the credit app to see what they can get to keep the financing in house. My sales person Becca was simply amazing. She answered all of my questions; I am very inquisitive, and overly analytical, so this is no small thing. If she didn’t know an answer she always went and found out and followed up. She proactively went above and beyond to make sure I got the best of everything, while never applying pressure to me. Being not only a car person but also being overly analytical, I am definitely not the easiest customer to deal with, and they exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend going to Mungenast St. Louis Acura, and recommend asking for Becca. More

My husband and I visited this dealership on Saturday the 5th of March 2021. We were immediately met by a salesman. As we walked the lot we explained to him what we were looking for, our price point, vehicl 5th of March 2021. We were immediately met by a salesman. As we walked the lot we explained to him what we were looking for, our price point, vehicle mileage limit and that we were bringing our own financing. He was a super helpful guy and seemed to be very knowledgeable about the vehicles we were looking at. We decided on 2 separate vehicles, a 2018 and a 2019 MDX. It was later in the day and the dealership was about to close so we informed the guy that we would contact him back on Monday the 8th of March 2021. I texted him Monday morning and informed him that we had decided on the 2018 and we would be able to close out the sale if our negotiated terms could be met. He contacted me back within 10 minutes and told me it was all ok’d and we set up a time for a test drive which was originally set for Tuesday morning. He texted me back and asked could he change the day to Wednesday morning which was fine with us. We get to the dealership today, Wednesday March 10,2021 at 10am. When we get there the vehicle is waiting for us to test drive. We met one of the managers, he goes out and goes over the amenities on the vehicle, we sign a waiver accepting responsibility if the vehicle is damaged, let them copy our license and on we go for the test drive. After driving we go back to the dealership and begin the paperwork. The business guy pulls out a Retail Buyers Order, he signs it and we read thru the paperwork and we sign it. While reading thru the paperwork a finance guy comes in and tries to offer us financing thru Acura but once again we inform them that we have financing thru our bank. He tries a couple more times with the financing speech and we continue to kindly decline repeating that we already have financing. He pops up from the chair snatched his paperwork and proceeds to leave out of the office. We wait a few minutes later for the guy to come back so we can finish the purchase but instead of the closer guy coming back our original salesman entered the office. At this time he informs us that he was sorry but someone had already purchased the vehicle the day before while he was off. He then proceeded to try and sell us a vehicle, the 2019 that he had just previously stated was sold. I was extremely upset by these actions because I don’t believe the vehicle is sold but instead that the dealership decided to not sell us the vehicle since we were not going to finance thru them. There is financial gains given to dealerships when they can secure the financing and since they were not able to secure the financing I believe they lied and stated the vehicle had been sold the day before. There are several Mungenast Dealerships in and around the St. Louis are and they have been in business for a very long time so it’s hard for me to believe that they would be so unprofessional as to have someone come in for a test drive/ purchase on a vehicle that was previously sold. Meeting my salesman, the manager, closer and the finance guy all in connection with an already sold vehicle doesn’t make sense to me. I don’t believe the vehicle is sold or even put on hold for someone else. If I had allowed them to finance that vehicle I believe it would be sitting in front of my house right now. These are some very shady business tactics. Something I would expect from a Buy Here Pay Here or some second hand dealership lot but not from someone like Mungenast Family group of dealerships. Please if you are not willing to finance thru them don’t waste your time dealing with the deceptive dealership. They are not willing to sell to customers that bring their own financing, I guess purchasing a30+thousand dollar vehicle is not enough profit for them. I can’t believe that a salesman would actually sign a buyers contract and then lie about the vehicle being sold, it seems like that would have been the first thing they checked before we began any paperwork. This post is not a lie, it’s not something written to make the dealership look bad, it’s the actual truth and I have the buyers order in my possession to prove it. I have texted conversations to prove the agreed upon arrangements. This is how this place operates. More
