I knew exactly the car I wanted since it was 3k cheaper than I could find anywhere else (pre-owned, not a Nissan), Great experience with these folks. I knew exactly the car I wanted since it was 3k cheaper than I could find anywhere else (pre-owned, not a Nissan), and their team made no effort to push a more expensive option on me. I came with a pre-qualified loan from my bank and they pushed their financier to match the rates. They stayed late to complete the sale (we drove two hours to get there). They offered all of the standard add-ons (maintenance packages, gap insurance, etc.) and were patient as I asked for tailored versions and calculated monthly payments. I drove away completely satisfied with both the vehicle's condition and the buying experience. Jason Spruill was my agent and great to work with. More

Exceptional Experience Two weeks ago---30 August---my wife and I visited the Modern Nissan of Lake Norman dealership to test drive a 2014 Nissan Altima 3.5 SL. As my wife w Two weeks ago---30 August---my wife and I visited the Modern Nissan of Lake Norman dealership to test drive a 2014 Nissan Altima 3.5 SL. As my wife will tell you, I don't buy so much as a stapler without devoting hours to researching makes, models, and the businesses selling them. The Altima 3.5 SL was on my very short list of autos I was considering, and the only one that isn't touted as a "luxury car". But from what I had uncovered in expert opinions and consumer reviews, the Altima 3.5 SL had everything I wanted in a new car. Of all the Nissan dealerships that had a 2014 Altima 3.5 SL, I chose to approach Modern Nissan of Lake Norman first. That, again, was because of research. On various sites, including this one, the consumer comments regarding Lake Norman Nissan were numerous and overwhelmingly positive. Now I know why. In thinking back over the experience, I don't find a single thing I can give a downcheck. The personnel with whom my wife and I dealt---Mr. Jason Spruill, sales consultant, and Mr. Chris Young, the sales manager---were thoroughly professional and knowledgeable. They were courteous and genuinely pleasant, with none of that phoney "friendliness" that I've seen car salemen use at other dealerships. There were none of the other red flags that people tend to associate with the car-buying process: no hard sell, no bait-and-switch, no interminable waiting while the salesman "consults" with his boss. Mr. Young and Mr. Spruill were respectful of the requirements and limits that I had set down for myself in making a purchase; they made no attempts to cajole me into spending more money or making more payments or going anywhere I didn't want to go. The single best word to describe it was professional---from the moment my wife and I entered the lot to being handed the keys to our new car. The negotiation part---the part which most people hate---was about as unstressful as such a thing can be. Mr. Young and Mr. Spruill were fair and above board. They worked hard to earn our business. At no time did they pressure me to do anything I didn't want to do. The deal which finally closed the sale was exceptional, and like Mr. Young and Mr. Spruill themselves, it was fair and above board. I've examined it every which way and there are no hidden "gotchas". My wife and I left thoroughly impressed. To be sure, this was business we were conducting with Lake Norman Nissan, but it was about as pleasant an experience as car-buying gets. If you're the kind of person who dreads walking into a dealership showroom, this is the place for you to go. You may or may not leave with a new car, but you won't feel like you've been bullied or had the wool pulled over your eyes. You'll be treated respectfully and---I can't stress this word enough---professionally. Oh, and the 2014 Nissan Altima 3.5 SL we bought has been an outstanding car! Granted, it's only been two weeks and I've put only four hundred miles on it. But so far, everything about the car has been marvelous. There've been no hidden "gotchas" there, either. You can pay more for a "luxury car" and get less. More

Ken Mezar (hope I spelled his name right) was also a pleasure to work with and satisfied my requests quickly and professionally. We started the process by phone, text, and email which led me to believe it was worth my time to drive 90 miles to look at buying a car from Gil. I brought home a 2014 Rogue SL and I bought it through the Costco program. I'm sure everyone works to high standards at Modern but I know Gil and Ken will do all they can to make your car buying experience wonderful. More

Either presented sub standard used trucks or added hidden "fees". We went to Modern Nissan thinking it was just another dealership. Were we wrong! David and Chris were outstanding. Gave us the price on the truck we were looking at and also the price on a new truck. Ended up with a brand new truck at great price. To prove how much we trusted them, we did not drive the truck until we drove it off the lot. Great team. I will send everyone I know to this dealership and will visit them for my next vehicle. They have an awesome group of folks! More

Both the salesman (Gil) and the sales mgr (Chris) were direct and fair when quoting pricing. I feel like I got a good deal on a 2015 Altima. Everyone, from finance to service were friendly. Even the guys in training were approachable and not pushy (thanks Will) Overall, it was a good buying experience. More
