I always come to this dealership for SERVICE (routine maintenance) on my Toyota Tundra. Good amount of wait time and the waiting area is cozy and kid friendly. I decided to go back for SALES on an up maintenance) on my Toyota Tundra. Good amount of wait time and the waiting area is cozy and kid friendly. I decided to go back for SALES on an upgrade for the newer Tundras. As we got there, we were immediately greeted as we walked thru the doors. The person helping us was very courteous at first. He allowed us to test drive the truck we wanted. We gave him all the information he needed to start the purchasing process. He then asked if we had a downpayment. Since we were trading in a truck we still had payments on, it was considered an upside down sale- meaning we would be negative. I told him we weren't going to put anything down. He gave me a look as if I were crazy or something. He then asked for my keys to send it off for an appraisal. As I was handing it to him, customers came walking thru the door. They were his customers, probably back to close on a deal or something. I ignored it as he greeted them. I waited outside while my husband and child stayed inside the dealership. After about 5 minutes, my husband walks out with our keys and says "he told me we can't get it without a downpayment". I couldn't believe it at first so I went inside myself to ask him. He said, I handed to the keys back to your husband and we are good". There infront of him were the customers who just walked thru the doors. I knew he blew us off when his previously customers came in. This infuriated me! How can he say we didn't qualify when #1- he didn't get the truck appraised yet and #2- we didn't start negotiations. Was this his choice or Financing's choice? I have never had this kind of treatment before!! So we drove off to another dealership (Toyota) in West Columbia. There, we were greeted by a gentleman who was ready to help us out. Very kind, listened to our needs. We found a Toyota Tundra Crewmax that was perfect so we started negotiations. We were at the dealership until 11:30pm (almost 4 hours), we eventually drove off with our dream truck. Excellent service from everyone that worked with us especially the salesman who greeted us and never left us the whole time. I don't understand how we were able to take home a new truck from that dealership and not from Dick Dyer's lot. Loss for that salesman from there but a gain for the other who was more than excellent. First, I went to another Toyota dealership in the Columbia area looking to buy a new Tacoma and they gave me the deal I was looking for in 10 minutes. I decided to try DDT to see what they would do. Columbia area looking to buy a new Tacoma and they gave me the deal I was looking for in 10 minutes. I decided to try DDT to see what they would do. After 2 hours of the salesperson running to the manager to get answers for my questions, they were nowhere near the deal I already had. They even tried to pawn off a used vehicle at still an inflated price. When I told them they had to do better they assured me no one could beat their deal. I never told them about the deal I already had. When I had enough of DDT, I told them thanks but no thanks. The salesperson acted like I had shot his dog. I won't be back.... More
I just want to say that in my opinion Dick Dyer Toyota lacks integrity and doesn't treat its potential internet customers with respect. I just spent most of the day working through the sales process with lacks integrity and doesn't treat its potential internet customers with respect. I just spent most of the day working through the sales process with 2 sales-reps and sometime during the day the sales manager decided to sell the vehicle to a walk-in customer instead. They didn't even bother to give me a call; I had to call them to find out they had sold it from under-my-nose. SO IF YOU'RE AN INTERNET CUSTOMER....BEWARE....THEY DON'T CARE! More

Car shopping is something I have always dreaded, but I always research carefully in publications and internet before shopping. I emailed all local dealerships and David Nudelman replied immediately with answers to my questions. We then talked by telephone and discussed prices. He then reviewed this info with the price quote in his next email. I had started looking for a 2007-8 used Corolla, but this price for a 2010 was so good that I decided to accept the debt with Toyota's 0% interest rate! This then became a great adventure rather than just a business transaction. That, however, was just the beginning of David's helpfulness to me because he then scheduled to drive "my" new car to my house (100 miles), picked me up, and drove me back to the dealership. Very efficiently, he had arranged for me to meet with the business manager Gary Hampton for the paperwork, and he also introduced me to Jim Graham in the Service Dept. This was very important because Jim arranged for the installation that very afternoon of the Lo/jack which prevented my having to make another lengthy trip. This also gave me the chance to enjoy the marvelous waiting area and the restaurant facilities! This is a real bonus too! The only rating that I gave less than a #5 was on quality of work because that will be clearer to me as time goes on. I was not really there for servicing. Over the years, I have owned ten cars and visited at least twenty dealerships in various parts of the Southeast. I selected Toyota this time because of its strong ratings and because my best friend has only owned Toyotas for the last 30 years and has had great satisfaction through Dick Dyer purchases. With this background, I can honestly say that the Dick Dyer dealership has impressed me the most and extended a warmth that I never experienced in a business situation, the car itself has made me feel that it is a luxurious vehicle and also a product of extraordinary modern engineering. With great enthusiasm I feel a pride of car ownership that I have never felt before, and I eagerly look forward to return visits because of the friendliness and efficiency that I experienced on this very special day in 2009. Another customer, Gary Stephens, had the same great buying experience with one of Dick Dyer's great salesperson, David Nudelman. However, I am not a first time Dick Dyer Toyota buyer. I purchased my buying experience with one of Dick Dyer's great salesperson, David Nudelman. However, I am not a first time Dick Dyer Toyota buyer. I purchased my first (new) Toyota (Camry) back in 1993 and their service was great back then and I promised that when the time came for a new Toyota, I would be back. When I was looking to buy a new Toytoa, I did a lot of research and testing driving before contacting Dick Dyer. I went on the website and David Nudelman answered by request. I told David exactly what I wanted, what I didn't want in a new vehicle. Within 24 hours David had found the Red 2009 v6 Toytoa Venza that I wanted with a great/fair price. I live 80 miles west of Columbia, but David Nudelman was able to get everything in order over the phone. To point out the great customer service Dick Dyer provides, David Nudeleman drove 80 miles to Aiken,SC, where I live to pick me up and bring me to the dealership so I only had to simply come in, sign the papers, and drive off with my new Venza. Let me not forget what a beautiful dealership they have. Whoever thought of the idea to provide a small food service court got it right. This is the only dealership that you can get some real food, (not just donuts and coffee) while waiting. Dick Dyer is a great dealership. More
When I was looking to buy I began on line. After driving several other cars I arrived at the Toyota dealership. I asked for Sara the person who contacted me on line and she greeted me with David Nudelman. D several other cars I arrived at the Toyota dealership. I asked for Sara the person who contacted me on line and she greeted me with David Nudelman. David took over from there and was a great person to work with. Very knowlesgeable and friendly. I drove the Sequoia - great SUV and bought one without any hassle about 2 weeks later. Cannot say enough about what a great experience I had with David Nudelman and Dick Dyer Toyota. When I can back a few days later to have the stain resistance finish put on the car David met me in the parking lot and provided great follow up service. I would reccomend this dealership and especailly David to anyone. In addition - the Sequoia is so much better than any SUV I drove Gary Stephens More
I have purchased approx 15 cars over the past 25years, all have been GM vehicles as i am eligible for GMS pricing(dealer invoice). I visited several GM dealers as i was upside down on a high mileage trade all have been GM vehicles as i am eligible for GMS pricing(dealer invoice). I visited several GM dealers as i was upside down on a high mileage trade, there was not a single GM dealer that would get within $4000 of what Dick Dyer offered me with 30 minutes of arriving at the dealership. I arrived at the dealership to see David who was busy with a customer and asked if Mike Humphrey could help. Mike was very helpful, very professional while showing me all of the different trim levels and body styles of the new Tundra. While Mike and i were looking over the new Tundra's, the used car manager appraised my vehicle and gave me a verbal figure. As i continued to search for a GM dealer to step up and make me a deal a couple weeks passed, i went back to Mike and asked if he could locate a very specific truck which he did and e-mailed me the invoice. When i arrived back at Dick Dyer i found that the dealer was willing to honor the original offer made and dicounted the truck sufficiently to offset the GMS that i gave up by purchasing a Toyota. Bottom line is this was the most enjoyable vehicle purchase experience i have had in 25 years. More

When I went to Jim Hudson Toyota and told them my situation ( Being upside down by $3500.00 ) I was told they could not help me and I needed to pay down my current car loan. Toyota center did not even have the car I was interested in. When I went to Dick Dyer, they worked with my wife and I and after picking out a car ( a 5 door 09 Yaris ) they got me together with the business office and we managed ot work out financing that not only met my budget, but lowered the payments from what I was currently paying. They were terrific. Very helpful, caring and professional. I know take my Camry and my Yaris there for service. They are one of the best dealer I have ever worked with. Thanks to David Nuddleman for all his help and getting my wife the car she wanted. Jack Columbia, SC More
MILITARY, I ADVISE YOU TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP! I visited this dealership because Mike Humphrey called me repeatedly. I thought I might be able to get a good deal on a used Scion--the used one at I visited this dealership because Mike Humphrey called me repeatedly. I thought I might be able to get a good deal on a used Scion--the used one at Dick Dyer costs as much as a new one at Toyota Center. No one spoke to me when I entered the dealership. It was unclear where to go. Mike Humphrey argued with me on a number of points and demonstrated his lack of knowledge and arrogance. He argued that the Pontiac Vibe does not have a Toyota engine. The Vibe does in fact have a Toyota engine, as he later found out. He also argued with me about the validity of some of my power of attorney When I pointed out to him that I didn't think it was appropriate for him to make that assessment, as he is not a lawyer, he argued that he had not argued with me. The dealership would not work with me on getting the car financed in both mine and my husband's name. My husband is away in the Navy and I have to do everything with a Power of Attorney. The dealership offered to mail the paperwork to my husband and have him mail it back, but I thought this was unnecessary since I have a valid power of attorney. I had NO trouble at all with Toyota Center, which apparently, uses the same financing company. More

I October 26, 2009 RE: 2010 Toyota RAV 4 600 Miles on the Car Excellent Service and Stand Behind the Car "I am a very unhappy Toyota owner. I will report back...but I think I'm finished with this dealership (Dick Dyer Toyota)" was how I reported my experience with my 2007 Rav 4 V-6 with 22,124 miles on August 9, 2009. Now, it's 2.5 months later and once again I am a happy Toyota owner. My new 2010 Toyota RAV 4 Limited 4 cylinder has about 600 miles on it! I have to praise the dealership on their redemption in my eyes. I met with Gary Armstrong, the General Sales Manager, to air my concerns about my previously purchased Dick Dyer 2007 RAV 4 V-6. Not only did Mr. Armstrong listen attentively to my concerns, but he worked hard and fast to resolve my concerns. Mr. Armstrong brought in different Toyota models for me to drive and worked with my sales associate, Ric Player,to quickly get me in the new cars so that I could make my final decision. In the end he and Ric Player put me in the exact new car I wanted including color and packages. We easilty worked through negotiating a trade-in price and a new car price. It was good to be treated as a valued customer...and it felt even better that Dick Dyer Toyota was ready to stand behind their product. I will report back as the days of my new car ownership march on, but I am tickled pink with the resolution offered through the dealership. They went the extra mile(s). Also, Jeff Bowers, New Car Sales Manager, and Jeff Bowers, Finance Manager, and Thomas Roman, Sales Associate, were gracious in assiting with closing the deal. More
