Had car towed to Larson service for "limp-mode" operational diagnosis. Paid $338.90 for service diagnosis of requirement for new distributor caps and rotors. It was also strongly recommended that s operational diagnosis. Paid $338.90 for service diagnosis of requirement for new distributor caps and rotors. It was also strongly recommended that spark plugs should be changed at same time. I was quoted cost for associated parts and shop labor for repairs to total $3,287.33. I subsequently used my towing insurance to have the car towed to an independent German car specialist shop. This second diagnosis was for a single faulty plug wire and spark plug. Since the plug wires can only be purchased as a complete set, all the plugs and wires were changed-out at total cost of $664.93. I subsequently returned to Larson with the receipts for the correct diagnosis/successful repair and asked for a refund of what I had been charged for their previous inaccurate diagnosis. Larson did, of course, deny they made an incorrect diagnosis and refused any request for a refund! I subsequently asked to talk directly with the General Manager of the dealership. After a 20 minute wait, the GM finally came downstairs and without asking a single pertinent question... simply asked me to leave the dealership. I did so and have never returned. I did, however, purchase my wife a new Benz from a different dealership! More
