I have gone to several different dealerships and by far felt the most comfortable at McKenna Surf City Volkswagen. Lee was very informative on all of the cars and options available. I was interetsed in getting a Jetta and he brought a lot of energy to the whole experience. He answered my questions and taught me a lot about buying/leasing a car process. I haven't had the best experience in the past, but this time around am very grateful to have worked with such a great sales team. It was actually fun and met a lot of the team members. I recently visited McKenna VW surf city to check out the Volkswagen CC. I was quite anxious about purchasing a new car and working with a dealership because the car buying experience can be a hassle. Thanks Volkswagen CC. I was quite anxious about purchasing a new car and working with a dealership because the car buying experience can be a hassle. Thanks to Mark Hewison, this transaction was hassle free. Mark is easy going and made me feel very comfortable. He did not use the typical cheesy sales tactics that many of the surrounding dealers use to reel in a potential buyer. Mark was very knowledgeable about the VW vehicles and answered all of my questions without hesitation. I did not feel sales pressure from him and this I appreciated most. The first offer he presented to me was better than I expected. We negotiated and I ended up with a smoking deal and a fantastic car. I thought for sure I would have to spend all day at the dealership working with the financing folks but surprisingly Cindy Kim was as efficient and friendly as Mark. She literally completed my paperwork in less than 30 minutes and was funny while doing it. From the general manager to the person who greeted me at the door, customer service was a common thread. I left McKenna VW surf city with an experience great enough that I needed to sit down and write this review. I would definitely recommend this dealership to other buyers. More

I communicated by email with Garrett Osborne internet sales and he said that he will offer me Costco fleet prices Don't do business with this dealer. As for the vehicle I wanted was no problem he has it in stock and can get any color I like. I wanted a 2013 Jetta TDi Premium Tempest Blue, when I get there he shows the same model in silver and at first he says that he will look on the computer and get the blue if we make a deal. We go inside where he starts the well known dance of financing and pricing and other terms, together with I need to talk to my manager, etc. Then he comes and tell me that the color I want is not available in California, but needs to be ordered. Next the manager gives me his best price $27,700 at that point I just got up and left. Went to another dealer Puente Hills and got the car for $25,000 and in 2 hours the color blue car that I wanted came from somewhere in Los Angeles. I see that this guy Garrett Osborne has many complains here. Stay away from the arrogant people at McKenna. More
