I was a first time car buyer and did a lot of research on both cars and dealerships around the chicagoland area. I was weary of going to this dealership because of all the poor reviews its received, but I a both cars and dealerships around the chicagoland area. I knew which car I wanted and the price I wanted to pay for the car, from all my research I did. I was lucky enough to work with JORDAN BROWN, who is an excellent salesman. I told him that I was returning to school and would be commuting about 60 miles a day, so I would need a reliable long lasting car. I was in-between two cars which was a hyundai elantra and the honda civic. After the test drive, I was pretty set on the civic but told him the excellent deal hyundai gave me. In my opinion, I think Hondas are a better built car than hyundai so I didn't mind paying a little bit more, but Jordan was extremely close to coming to the price I wanted to pay for the car (only $50 difference, plus threw in a couple extras accessories) After working with Jordan, I worked with their finance department, and had the pleasure to work with KEVIN MOORE and he was able to get me a great APR rate for a first time buyer. I was comfortable working with these two associates over at Mcgrath Honda in Elgin and never felt pressured at all. It was really a very smooth experience for me and did very little haggling, since they were able to work with what I wanted and the price I wanted it for. I am absolutely IN LOVE with my car and extremely happy with everything! Do your homework folks and if you do decide to go with Mcgrath Honda in Elgin, I definitely recommend working with JORDAN BROWN. More

Obviously, its my fault for not walking away but the methodology that is used at McGrath was only focused on them making money. But I really liked the car they had. Up until we started to start talking money and secure the purchase of the vechile things were good, friendly, helpful and moving along swimmingly. Once the paperwork came out and we started talking about a deal, the way they went about the deal is focused and only about them making the most they can off my purchase.....period. I felt they low balled my trade in, and didn't exactly explain what was going on with it. Again that is my fault for not getting an exact explanation about it. However, as I look back they presented really high monthly payments to secure some ballpark numbers (which I really feel was for them) then jumped to the extended warranties they have, which is called the McGrath advantage. But the way on paper it is presented to the customer is not up front and understandable. So customer beware. When the paperwork comes out they will make the deal seem very different than what it really is. They have a step by step methodology and it is very misleading. The misleading procedure to purchase a car at McGrath Honda in Elgin is the reason I gave them a BAD overall experience with buying there. I would preface any recommendation I give about their store with the above experiences I have had. More

The dealership is a great place to get a car from. I am a busy person (single mom two kids all of us in school and working). The service department really wants to make sure they are taking care of their costumers, and i made a survey earlier about how the back end was not doing good. I want to re-track that because i was able to talk to CJ, and he and i were able to clarify the miscommunication that we had between each other. Then i made a comment about the outside guy who comes in to help out. He acutely went out of his way today form a job he was doing to SHOW me how to use my remote start. I really feel awful because once we were able to really clear things up, and i had solid answers It was an easy sail from there. I'm really sorry to the service department. Communication is key, and it just was not their partly bc my phone is bad, and some other slight things. Thank McGrath for being awesome!!! (-= More

I want to say buying a car from here was ok! Kevin the finance guy was cool(: my sales guy was still new, but he listened to what i wanted, and satisfied me in the end. The back end ( SERVICE) forget about it ... 3 days to get a starter on my car... and i still dont have it. The only communication i received was me blowing their phones up. They called me the day i drop .it off to tell me it wasn't done yet. I was at work, im a single mom tsking care of two young kid's. Going to college and working all the time. All i wanted was to be updated why the guy they hired from the outside had to come back the next day. This has caused me to worry and wonder about if the guy hired..from the outside busted my car.!?!!?!? So im extremely pissed annoyed, i think the receptionist hates me!!! This is the worst experience to deal with being in the dark. If you are fimilar with the black market one would understand); More

Jason is very thorough. If you're looking for guidance on a Honda product just pick up the phone and ask for him. You'll also find the receptionists at McGrath to be so gracious and warm. They set the tone. Kevin and Bernardo in finance are good natured gentleman who can explain additional options to consider such as extended protection programs, but they're not hard sell at all. They are certainly well intentioned. I would suggest that a prospective shopper should make the trip to McGrath regardless of where you live in Chicagoland. I found a very nice 04 Toyota 4 Runner at McGrath Honda in Elgin Illinois that I loved. Came over 300 miles to drive it on a Saturday. The store is top notch and state of the art. Jesse my salesman was very professional and just a really good and nice guy in general. I spent a lot of time deciding and driving this 4 runner. He was very patient with me the whole day. We were not able to strike a deal that day, but I was called on the following Monday by Bryan (sales manager) and he did a good job of trying to earn my business. We were just a little too far apart on the original deal on the previous Saturday. He helped me kind of get over some of my anxiety and shot me a better deal. Really appreciated his effort and respect him for stepping up to try and get a deal done. I am happy to say I am now getting the 4 Runner and I am satisfied with the deal and how I was treated in the end. Jesse my salesman, Bryan the manager, Trey the finance guy, and Bernardo the finance manager really do a good job. Bryan and Jesse especially went the extra mile to get me over the hump. Updated Saturday 8-17-13 Wow is about all I can say. Picked up the 4 runner and had a couple of very good surprises. NEW TIRES, a fixed sun visor, and a GREAT deal on an extended warranty. I arrived an hour early this morning and sat in the waiting room. Jesse came and greeted me when he arrived. Once they opened at 9:00 I was the first one in and it took less than an hour for me to be on the road with my new vehicle. Amazing service through and through. Much more than I had hoped for and Mike Z, thank you for coming in and talking to me while I was there. Really appreciate the effort overall by the whole dealership to help get this deal done on a vehicle I've been looking for, for almost 2 years. McGrath Honda went the extra mile to help me out. We took my new Honda Civic Sedan EX-L for a test drive yesterday -- 45 miles to Rockford and back. Arriving home it required a mere quarter of a tank of gas. How good is that? The many features, including stereo, backup view display, comfort and roomy seating, made our ride a pure joy. Additionally, the McGrath Advantage Program of safety features over $4,000 value at no extra cost to me, is awesome. The sales people were amazing to work with -- extremely kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. Jordan Brown went above and beyond to find the exact car, features, and cost to suit my needs. My overall sales experience with Honda could not have been any better. I would highly recommend Honda to all my family and friends. Why would anyone choose any other car to purchase than Honda?
