Mr. Egerton, I'm sorry that you are unhappy with your vehicle and my response to your complaint but I disagree with your portrayal of my concern (or lack thereof) and your paraphrasing of our conversation this Saturday. When I first became aware of your wife's dissatisfaction with hearing gasoline sloshing in the tank, I had one of our top technicians as well as our service manager check out the car. Although they were able to hear the sound of the gas they determined that this was a normal condition. Since we were unable to eliminate the sound, we then discussed the possibility of switching from a lower profile, sports car into a more traditional vehicle. We suggested a Malibu, which is less expensive than the Camaro and an Impala, which was more expensive. I believe your wife only test drove the Impala but did not want to switch cars at that time. On Saturday, you called and informed me that you had made modifications to the car that eliminated the sloshing sound and that you expected me to pay for it. I declined to reimburse you for a couple of reasons not the least of which would be sanctioning the viability of your modifications to a General Motors vehicle by paying for the parts. I did suggest that you contact General Motors Customer Care Department as it didn't seem that you had any issue with Mall Chevrolet but it was the design of the vehicle that was at the root of the problem. Our conversation deteriorated from that point. You may not believe it but I do try to satisfy each and every customer. Sometimes I fall short. I am sorry that you are unhappy with us and up until your modifications were made, your Camaro. I wish you the best of luck with it. Craig Colender General Manager
