Good buying process, poor customer service We went to Madison Honda based on the recommendations of person on a Facebook parents group. We dealt wth Dave Garcia (HondaguyDave) and he was great. We went to Madison Honda based on the recommendations of person on a Facebook parents group. We dealt wth Dave Garcia (HondaguyDave) and he was great. At first we thought about leasing, went through the negotiations and everything, the car was going to be ready the next day so we didn't sign the contract. Well overnight we starting really thinking it over and decided against the lease (mainly because we're going to hold onto the car for more than 3 years), so I texted Dave the next day and told him not to move forward with the lease. I explained to him why and he was very patient, not annoyed at all that we had taken 2 hours of his time the day before. We told him what we wanted and he worked with us to get a certified pre-owned 2016 Honda Pilot, which was $500 below the KBB value. The financing department was even able to secure us a loan 1% lower than the loan we secured, so it was really a positive experience. Of course, they tried to sell us some extras that we turned down but they were completely cool about it. UPDATE - A week after we got the Pilot, we went on a road trip to VA. My husband wanted to put in a DVD for the kids. As the DVD player opened he noticed that the screen wasn't attached on the left hand side, in other words it was coming off the hinges. The next day I call our sales guy, we play phone tag a bit and when we finally talked he said to call the service department. They didn't have a courtesy car to lend me until yesterday so I finally took it in. I remind them that this happened about a week after we got the car. A little while later, I get a phone call from the Sales Manager saying that the screen had been pulled and that's why it came off the hinges. I said, nope. No one pulled that screen, not my kids (in case that was he was implying) and definitely not my 50 year old husband (he's old enough to be careful with things). Sales manager says they'll look into it further. I get another call later on from the Service Director, same thing it was pulled and that's why the hinge is broken. Furthermore, IT WILL COST $1500 TO REPLACE. Well I guess, I know now why it was below the KBB value. I bet the DVD player was coming of the hnge to begin and halfassed fixed it so it wouldn't be obvious. We thought that because the car was Honda Certified that everything was fine and in working order with the car, clearly we were wrong. I'm due to return the courtesy car today, I hope they step up to the plate and offer a reasonable solution but I'm not holding my breath for one. Clearly, I wouldn't never do business with them or recommend them if they don't fix the player. FINAL RESOLUTION: My wife picked up the car. They offered to replace it for $750 instead of $1500 but I refused as the unit was damaged when we got it. I also never got a response from Dave Garcia to my voicemail or email. Unprofessional. More
