I requested and got an internet quote via email for a Honda Accord EX V6 with a clunker trade-in. Had a phone conversation with the internet sale representative during which he explained how my deal wou Honda Accord EX V6 with a clunker trade-in. Had a phone conversation with the internet sale representative during which he explained how my deal would result in $3500 instead of $4500. Also asked him about choice of colors and was told that there were plenty of cars available for me to choose the right color. I tested a car in the evening and was ready to enter into a transaction. First, I was made to wait for a long time, then came the first surprise: there was no EX model available, but only the EXL model which is the next level up. I asked for the price difference between the EX and EXL - it was $2,100. I asked for some discount and was declined. I then offered to accept the difference by adding it to the quoted price. Now came the second surprise: They could not honor the lower quoted price because it was not a "clunker-based" price. They wanted me to take the car with a higher price. I left that place after wasting an entire evening, and lost an opportunity to go elsewhere because it was too late. The clunker program was to be shut down in one day. I have the entire email chain to prove that the price quoted was with the clunker consideration. This incident also revealed that they had a double-standard in pricing the deals. I also doubt the unavailability of the EX model. No way that I will ever do business with such bad people, no will be my friends. More
Wow a highway store tucked in a little town of Madison N.J.Can you believe in this economy a Honda dealership would keep a persons deposit after we decided not to take the car.On the 19th of January we vi N.J.Can you believe in this economy a Honda dealership would keep a persons deposit after we decided not to take the car.On the 19th of January we visited this dealership. After being presurred by the sales person Dan and his Sales Manager Flavia,we left a deposit on a Mittsibishi outlander. The deal was subject to insurance quote. We didn't want to leave a deposit My son and i where stronge armed into it.After the gas wore off we thought shopping around would be a good idea. Now that we found a different car at a local dealer they will not refund our deposit.Flavia returned a phone call and said." NOT FOR NOTHING WE CAN`T DO NOTHING" Wow is it realy worth keeping a deposit and pissing a customer off in this economy?I would rather go in peace and part my ways with this dealership However my finaces are not in the best shape as most people these days.BUYER BEWARE OTHER LOCAL HONDA DEALERS WANT YOUR BUISNESS. I would highly recommend Madison Honda and Gary Testa who worked with, not against, my wife and me every step of the way. We originally wanted to lease an `09 Accord, and visited the dealership one evening worked with, not against, my wife and me every step of the way. We originally wanted to lease an `09 Accord, and visited the dealership one evening and met with Gary. While I had done my research, I still didn't feel knowledgeable enough to sign the contract. Mr. Testa didn't pressure me to stay and made it clear he wanted me to be comfortable with the process. Even when we went back the next night, and still didn't pull the trigger, he didn't get pushy or bring in the sales manager to apply extra pressure. My wife and I decided to buy a certified pre-owned Accord and the process was very smooth, no surprises, and pain-free. Bottom line is this: I got the car I wanted and feel like I got a fair price and I would definitely go back and deal with Mr. Testa. More
I've been searching for a 2008 CR-V EX AWD for about a month now. After emailing 4 dealership and visiting 2, I finally found Madison Honda. I emailed them Saturday night and first thing Monday morning month now. After emailing 4 dealership and visiting 2, I finally found Madison Honda. I emailed them Saturday night and first thing Monday morning got a reply from Mark. I told him what the other dealerships were offering and he immediately offered me a better price! We agreed on a price, we did all my paperwork in advance and by the time I got to the dealership, I was in and out in less than an hour! Painless and no run-around...a perfect transaction! More
We bought a new Honda Fit from Madison Honda in June 2008. They gave us a competitive price on a car with little price "wiggle room"; we were given a price somewhat lower than MSRP. Unlike several oth 2008. They gave us a competitive price on a car with little price "wiggle room"; we were given a price somewhat lower than MSRP. Unlike several other NYC-area dealers, we were told all costs in advance so there were no surprises when we went to the dealership. The car we bought had recently been traded for from another dealership, a common practice. It came with pinstripes we didn't want, and while they didn't mention this, when we asked about them and said we didn't like them, they removed them (they were taped on). We pointed out a fairly deep scratch on one door handle, and they said they would fix it for free, as of course they should. Flavia and Justin addressed all our concerns to our satisfaction, courteously and professionally. Romeo in the finance office was a true pleasure to work with. He didn't try to pressure any extras on us, and had a nice sense of humor. We drove the car off, and realized we hadn't double-checked the gas level; the documents said the car had a full tank, but the tank was only half full. We decided not to worry about this--it cost $20 to fill it to full--but I'm sure if we had brought it to their attention after the fact, showing them the gas receipt from minutes after we left the dealership, they would have reimbursed us. Then when we got home, we realized that a toolkit was supposed to be in the spare tire compartment and wasn't there. They have replaced it happily. So, while they seem to miss things here and there, it doesn't seem that any of it is intentional. I would just caution buyers to check things thoroughly. Yesterday I took the car in to have the scratch fixed and a few options added. They were organized and professional, and lent me a very nice car to use till I pick ours back up tomorrow. The dealership itself is new and clean, and very pleasant. Overall I recommend Madison Honda. They were a refreshing change from some of the dishonesty and opacity we encountered at a few other dealerships. More
I'm 22 and recently went there to buy a new accord. Given my age the salesmen in the floor were not eager to take me. At first they underestimated me. I had to ask to go inside and look at some papers! After my age the salesmen in the floor were not eager to take me. At first they underestimated me. I had to ask to go inside and look at some papers! After that though, the people in there started being more friendly (of course), but overall were very respectful, and I was able to get a good deal especially taking into consideration my trade in. And yes bill tries to sell you a bunch of service plans none of which I took. When they do this it's a good idea to ask for a calculator to see how much it would cost after the years of financing. I think people should post the price they get for their vehicles here, so that the people that visit the site can have an idea. More
