Great cars, salesman and service We have dealt with the service department for the past 13 years when we wintered in Florida and have found them always honest and professional. This i We have dealt with the service department for the past 13 years when we wintered in Florida and have found them always honest and professional. This is the first car we have leased from Lokey and it couldn't have been easier. The salesman, Kevin Bashaw, went out of his way to get us in a new vehicle and thoroughly explained many of the features and answered all our questions. More

Good Luck Let's begin, shall we. Sent an inquiry to the dealership on a 2017 Altima SR. Received a pleasant response asking how I could be helped. Well, I as Let's begin, shall we. Sent an inquiry to the dealership on a 2017 Altima SR. Received a pleasant response asking how I could be helped. Well, I asked in my inquiry on a cash deal for the vehicle. Apparently, the email received by the dealership is generic so I restated my question in a response. I also added that i am not military, not a recent grad, would not finance and had no trade. After a few back and forth emails, Luis sends me an offer... Selling Price - $27,145 Discount - $6,500 Rebate - $4,000 DIO - $2,995 Doc Fee - $899 Totals including a breakdown of TTT. (take note that DIO was ADDED back into the vehicle total minus the discount and rebate which means DIO is taxed) Great, I had an offer. I emailed Luis to inquire about the DIO and Doc Fee asking specifically for a breakdown. (Hint: I know what each are and what they mean. Dealer Profit. Nothing more, nothing less.) Luis kindly responded and told me that DIO is "Dealer Installed Options" and I would be getting.......wait for it...........Nitrogen Filled Tires, Interior Cloth Protection, Door Guards, and Wheel Locks..........all $2,995 worth. He also ignored my first few inquiries on the Doc Fee so I won't keep repeating it here. I responded and asked about these OPTIONS and received a quick reply about how they are required by law to be disclosed on every vehicle and included in my discount so I wouldn't have to pay for them. It's like getting things for free. YAY Again, a few back and forth emails. I respond with a polite version of, I am not interested in $50 Locking Lugs (very generous here), $3.49/door in Plastic Door Guards, 2 Cans of Scotchgard ($5,69/can on Amazon), or Nitrogen ($3-$10 per tire) for a blistering $2,995. Please remove that cost and drop the Doc Fee to $500 so we can work a deal. (I will pause here and say that I am not against a dealership making money. That being said, arbitrary 3k + another $900 is a little over my normal tip amount. Do the math and you will come to about a 20% markup that is guaranteed to the dealership over what you pay above their dealer invoice for the vehicle if you accept the DIO plus any rebates offered by NISSAN (not the dealership). In addition, just know that DIO is negotiable and not required as some would have you believe. Right, Luis? There is a great FL Senate publication that explains it. Google is your friend. It's all a discount though!!!!) So now I get a quick response stating that the DIO is in the discount and all has been disclosed AND the Doc Fee is really the Dealer Fee. The topper is they could, "probably come off a few hundred (per management"). WHAT A DEAL!!!! I, hesitantly, responded that I would be looking elsewhere since the deal was too rich for my blood. Thanked Luis and wished him Good Luck. Also, I added that no further communication would be required. Luis quickly sent me two subsequent emails praising my time and wishing me luck. Specifically, the gracious words that stood out from each were, "You must have been doing this for a long time." (being a car salesman, I presume???) AND (here is the good one) "You keep the luck, you need it more than I. I sell 30 cars a month" The takeaway from this experience should you read this far is......... Actual Dealer Discount is $1005 after you figure out that DIO is included (OK, you could add the $115 in parts plus the 337 hours of labor @ $8.50/hr to spray both cans, install lugs, attach door guards, and inflate tires it must have taken to get to the full benefit of $2,995 ) DIO is not really a negotiable fee You "may" save a couple hundred dollars if you ask the right questions Take all of this for what it is worth and choose wisely when selecting a dealership. I am sure there will be a response from a dealer representative explaining all the things that I don't understand about the cost of doing business. I would take that and compare my experience against the other reviews of this dealership and decide for yourself. Up to you. One last thing..........I have all of the emails to back up what was stated above. I did paraphrase and reduce the total quantity of back and forth due to redundancy. For that, I apologize. Luis, Good Luck there buddy! More
