Shopped for a car to replace a car we believed would be totaled by our insurance company due to accident. From the beginning of the visit we communicated we were not interested in completing the purchase u totaled by our insurance company due to accident. From the beginning of the visit we communicated we were not interested in completing the purchase until we had confirmation that the vehicle would be considered a total loss. Original plan was to give a $5,000 refundable deposit using our credit card. We completed that transaction and were then told that some sort of Black Friday funds had been applied to our purchase and we needed to issue a check for the balance, but that the check would not be deposited until the insurance company confirmed our car was totaled. We brought a check to the dealership and were then coerced into completing all of the purchase paperwork, again with the promise it would not be processed until confirmation of vehicle being totaled. We got a brief overview of cats features and benefits and were told the balance of the new car review would be finished when we confirmed our car was totaled and we officially wanted to purchase the car. We agreed to date we would come back and were promised full tank of gas and balance of new car review, set up of apps, etc. We got full confirmation from insurance company that our car was totaled and texted salesman that we were on our way to dealership to finish the agreed set up. We were 1/2 way to dealership and salesman called to say we didn’t need to come in. Purchase was complete and he didn’t need to see us. We reminded him of promises made and told him we were almost to dealership. When we got the dealership he was extremely annoyed and rude, did the bare minimum to finish new car review. All the way around it was a bad experience and we would not purchase from the dealership again as a result. More
