Beware if you have a performance car. I would like to make this review as fair as possible, so I will point out what I believe to be a few things that were good about this dealership. On balance though, I believe they deserve the 1 Star rating I have given them. I have also omitted most names because I am unsure of exactly who was responsible. I dropped off my 2017 Camaro ZL1 for a popping noise coming from the left front tire area. The sound was very loud and audible at even slow speeds. At freeway speeds it was not audible at all. I told the person I spoke with this when I dropped it off. I also offered to show them a video of the sound. It was a bit hard to hear the audio on the video in their shop, which I told them was fine since the sound was very loud and impossible to miss when the car was driven. I also mentioned that based on some quick research I had done, it sounded like several 2017 ZL1s had a similar issue and it turned out to be a sway bar. The person helping me stated it would take at least a day and that I would need to leave the car with them. I have always been a bit nervous leaving cars like the ZL1 with people I was unfamiliar with. I thought that since this was a certified GM dealer, my fears were likely unfounded. I was wrong. I checked the OnStar tracking information online later that day. This tracks the cars location as well as other information such has hard acceleration and breaking. An image of it is attached to this review. Over the course of 5 miles and almost exclusively at intersections (and I assume stoplights) whoever was driving the car triggered 12 OnStar alerts of hard acceleration. I do understand that it is sometimes hard to find a sound that a customer reports, and that it may be necessary to give a car some gas once or twice to verify everything is working properly. With that in mind, I think any reasonable person looking at the tracking information can see exactly what the person driving the car was doing. I called the dealer and asked to speak with the most senior manager they had on staff at that time. I told them I wanted to know what the xxxx they were doing with my car. This was the only point that I raised my voice or used an expletive. I was upset and would like to take this opportunity to apologize to whoever I first spoke to, as that was not appropriate. I was put on the phone with the service manager who almost immediately transferred me to the person I dropped the car off with. It seems hard to believe but clearly this was not being taken seriously at all. The man I dropped the car with stated that no such driving had taken place, and that they had to take the car out twice to hear the sound. Based on the fact the sound could be heard literally every 10-15 seconds I don’t accept that explanation. I tried to get a hold of the General Manger to speak about this, and was told that I should contact the service Gm (Cort Johnson) first. I called him left a message and have heard nothing back. I wanted to give them an opportunity to either explain or apologize before I wrote this review. Since they seem to feel the issue was not worthy of the time it takes the service GM to make a call, or more than a few seconds of time from the first service manager, I have decided to post this now. I will state on the positive side the man I dropped off the car with found that the wheel locks on the car were after market and I did not have the key. He claimed to go above and beyond by having another ZL1 owner drive in to see if their key matched. I also had a very good experience with a sales person here when I was initially looking to buy a ZL1 (of course at this point they were in a position to sale what I think is a fairly expensive car). So in summary it seems pretty clear that at least one person and possibly more (2 trips) took my car out for a joyride, and no one on the management team could be bothered to even make a phone call. Based on the level of responsibility they have taken up to this point, I hate to imagine what could have happened if they lost control of the car or damaged it in some other way. I would also like to point out that when I took the car to the Riverton dealership to get the sway bar replaced, they did not need to take two trips with 12 instances of hard acceleration to diagnose and fix the issue. I have nothing but good things to say about them. More
