xxxx - Bait and Switch and Scamming at Every Step The reviews about bait and switch and dishonest dealings are real. These guys are pure xxxx, I don't think I have ever done business with a worse company before. Be sure you do your homework before coming in, what the retail price should be, what was the internet advertised price, what other dealers are offering, what Hyundai's CPO program is. They will take every effort to scam you. We went in because of an advertised $12.2K price for a Certified Pre-Owned car. It was a very good deal as advertised, more than a thousand cheaper than any other listing. In the online listing there is even a picture of the window sticker with the price. Once we go in, the price on the window sticker is actually $20K, and the "final price" is even more because of supposed "add-ons" (theft protection, etc.) that supposedly the dealer adds on to all their cars and can't take off. We show them the online ad, and they act like they could not believe the online price was real. Verbal exchanges over the next few minutes include "that's not the car" "yes, it is, it is the exact VIN number" "we can't take the add-ons off, you have to pay for them" "the ad says final price, it's deceptive advertising" "final price is just our cost" "do Hyundai CPO cars include the 10year/100K warranty?" "no, you have to pay extra for that".... After many minutes of back and forth, the two sales people working with us literally get up from the desk and leave. Not a word about why, are they coming back or not, they just get up and leave. My wife and I sat there for a couple minutes, confused, then angry, and then decide to leave. As we are walking out, someone else sees how upset we are, and tries to fix the situation by getting some sort of manager. He starts working with us, and the original salesman comes back and says he got the manager for us "because he likes us" *eyeroll*. The manager says he can give us the internet price, but we have to pay for the roughly $2K in add-ons (which are completely useless) and another $1600 for the certification of the pre-owned vehicle. I have purchased CPO cars before and have never heard the CPO not included in the price. I quickly google and it looks like some Hyundai dealers try to pull this scam to add on extra money. I reply that either we get the internet price or we walk. The manager goes back to his office and after half an hour comes back to say they will sell us the car for $13.4K, $1.2K more than advertised. That price is actually a fair price for the car, and matches the lowest listing we could find online (but no longer a deal), and we decide to take it. At this point, one would hope the scamming would stop. I wanted to see the financing rates. I knew Hyundai was advertising 1.9% interest on CPO cars and wanted to see what their rate was. We make good money, my wife is a physician, our credit scores are all 750+, but they come back with 3.19%. Not only that, but the monthly price is $8 per month higher than if you took the purchase price and plug it into google's car loan calculator. $8 a month of hidden fees added in on top of the interest. I pull up 1.9% advertised rate and they go back into a room. Half an hour later, they decide that we do qualify for 1.9%, and the extra $8 per month in fees is no longer there. It took another two hours to proceed to actually signing paperwork. The person you sign with, Mr. Chung, is actually competent and polite. When we go over the Certified Pre-Owned program details, and guess what, we do in fact get the 10yr/100K warranty, there is no extra cost. I guess all the lying was just "negotiation". Even though they had swiped our credit card for $5K as a downpayment, they tried to finance us the FULL PRICE OF THE CAR, conveniently "forgetting" we had already paid $5K down. There was one final scam during paperwork signing. All the "add-ons" that they wanted to charge $2K for and we ended up negotiating down to $1.2K, they aren't actually included because "we didn't want to buy them". During negotiation, they supposedly had to be included in the price because once installed Keyes can't take them out. Except when you finally buy the car and pay for them.... they take them out. At this point it was 7PM, my 2 year old hadn't had dinner yet, these were add-ons I suspected all along was a scam and we were never going to use, so we just quickly signed and left. I'm a fairly easy going person, I don't think I've ever been compelled to post a negative review about anything before, but this whole process was so revolting that I just had to post this, and will be posting this everywhere and filing complaints with BBB, Hyundai corporate and the state attorney. We came prepared, well researched, checked their numbers at every point, and were still scammed. BUYER BEWARE. More
