The team at Kearny Mesa Toyota was excellent. I knew what I wanted and how much I wanted to pay and they made it happen. My husband's 2002 Tundra had sounds coming from the passenger tire area that sounded like a bearing going out and we got an appointment at the last minute thankfully as he was driving soon back to Colo passenger tire area that sounded like a bearing going out and we got an appointment at the last minute thankfully as he was driving soon back to Colorado. After having the truck for the entire day, this dealership charged him over $280, saying the "tires were too noisy to do any repairs". What?? After returning to CO, the dealership in Boulder, CO said the truck was not to be driven and bushings were needed to make it safe. They gave him a loaner and said he could have it as long as needed. By Kearney Mesa Toyota taking advantage of an out of state owner AND saying such ridiculous things (verified as such by friends who are mechanics), a one star rating is all it gets. Unless you want to be charged for essentially doing nothing and having idiotic diagnoses, stay away. Don't know if he worked with Sean Weaver but this website insists I give him a rating. More

I've gotten several notifications about recall on my Toyota Avalon. My occupation is in construction so transportation is a must in our field. Simply we don't work we don't get paid. No PTO for us. I've tried setting up appointments after I get off from work. My schedule doesn't work for them, since they don't start work on cars past 4PM which would be the time I could make if I leave early from work. But they require minimum of 4 hours to work on the faulty car they sold me. So I tried setting up an appointment for Saturday early morning, but again it's not guaranteed that they will have it fixed or have the parts they need to fix the manufacturer's problem. So if I leave it during the week chance of being without a car is 1 to 2 day's. If I leave it on Saturday chance of being without a car is 1 to 3 day's since the service department doesn't open Sunday's. Don't know about other customers, but I'm not in a habit of buying cars just to leave them at the dealership. Now I was sold a faulty car, I would appreciate flexibility and better customer service from the dealership who sold me the car to get it fixed with minimal inconvenience for myself. Instead I get an attendant who just tells me that if the service times aren't to my satisfaction I could just leave and walked away from me. More
I purchased my brand new 4runner from them in March, thinking back of all the red flags i should have taken my business elsewhere. First Red Flag...”We need you to fill out this document and HAVE to run your credit, its Toyotas policy..... ummm wrong... incorrect!!! I have been preapproved there is no need for them to check my credit, i have a blank check from my financial institution....luckily i stood my ground, but i should have walked away at that point! Another red flag...you have to purchase an extended warranty...incorrect! You do not have to purchase an extended warranty...completely up to you, but you take the risk if something goes wrong! THE ICING ON TOP OF THE CAKE....they do not print loan documents that you sign...They give you a USB with your loan documents on them. About a month later i pulled up the documents on the USB and to my surprise a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT CUSTOMER WITH THEIR LOAN INFORMATION DOCUMENTS. So to my surprise is this random customer personal information- ssn, dob, name and address, vin#, etc. So right away I call the finance person i worked with - JT and says that he will just email them, he confirms my email address which i confirm correct. That was the end of April. It is now June and i have called several times and left messages to JT and nothing, VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!! And to think about it, how do i know my loan documents with my personal information is floating around out there???? They say they keep their customers personal information private, wrong! More
