Kim always makes the experience pleasant. She’s very knowledgeable and has a pleasant attitude. The dealership waiting area is always clean and nice. I live in Houston, TX and have been buying cars from Jim Butler for the last 10+ years. Jim Butler was always my go to for purchasing a vehicle or getting any work done on my car when I lived in xx. Louis. Butler for the last 10+ years. Jim Butler was always my go to for purchasing a vehicle or getting any work done on my car when I lived in xx. Louis. My mom’s Chevy Malibu had a couple of lights on, so soon as I got to xx. Louis, my first thought was “I am going to drop her car off at Jim Butler so it can be fixed RIGHT”… I dropped my mom’s vehicle off on 2/13 around 7am for a simple 1-hour diagnostic that was quoted at $190. I explained to the service advisor, Dalton, that my mom is on a fixed income and we’re just trying to identify the root cause. Not spend hundreds and thousands at this time. He reassured me the diagnostic would be $190 and they would need at least 48-business hours to do the 1-hour diagnostic on the vehicle. You do the math on that. The diagnostic was not completed until 2/23. During those 11-days, I had to call 3-4 times EVERY DAY just to get an update because there was 0 communication from the service advisor, Dalton. I left him several voicemails and even had the main reps, who answered the primary line, leave him messages too. It got to the point I had to call and ask for the service manager because I just would not get any communication from anyone about what was going on. So when the car was finally done with diagnostic, I had already left xx. Louis and returned back to Houston, for work. It was hassle just to get someone to pick my mother up from her house and shuttle her back to the dealership. When she arrived, she was informed the diagnostic would NOT be the $190 that I was told but over $570. Of course, my mom was in complete shock and disgust. So I had to call, once again, speak with Dalton regarding the amount. Long story short, the diagnostic was $500, my mom was without a vehicle for that entire timeframe because the rental cars that were supposedly available when I called, had magically disappeared minutes later when it was time to pick my mom up from her, and the car isn’t fixed. Dalton’s recommendation was to spend over $7,400 for a brand new engine on a car that’s fully paid off. I’m still puzzled at this solution, because there wasn’t any parts that were broke that needed to be replaced on the engine. Also, the car is a 2016 with less than 110k miles… I’m highly disappointed in the lack of communication, false expectations that were set, the inability to provide any type of solution other than paying for a brand new engine and the overall disregard for our time. This isn’t the Jim Butler that I use to frequent and trust when I lived in xx. Louis. More
