Long day Came in to have front brakes check as they were making noise. Rear brakes were changed at last oil change and told front were good. Mike, service ad Came in to have front brakes check as they were making noise. Rear brakes were changed at last oil change and told front were good. Mike, service advisor states mechanic recommends front brakes and rotors. ok, but why did they go bad since last oil change. Parts were not in and had to order - said it would be an hour. 2 hours later truck still in lot. Finally truck in and parts swapped out. Drove 1 block and noise is still present. Returned - Mike surprised and got the mechanic to take a drive with me. Drove straight out of dealership and applied brakes lightly - boom, he hears noise. Mechanic states that wasn't the noise he hear which was squealing noise. Back to service desk - Mechanic took truck and greased up parts. Not sure how long it would take and I've been there most of the day. Had other things to do and Mike was nice enough to provide me with a courtesy car. Mike called me that afternoon - brakes fixed. Saturday I came in at opening, got truck and on my way. Drove all day and noise started to come back by afternoon. Spoke with Mike on Monday and told him I would monitor it. End result, I have another appointment set for Feb 1st since noise has returned. Feb 1st was first available time we could get together as I didn't want to take another vacation day. Would have been nice if the mechanic had got with me during his test drive to have me ride along or drive so he knew the problem at first. I've been coming to Butler since I purchased my vehicle from there. I drive in from Maryland Heights so it's not a quick trip. Being a dealership my expectations are for parts to be available (especially brake pads/rotors) and for a high level of knowledge in regards to issues. Will say that Kim also knows me and was very nice to ask if I need any assistance while waiting throughout the day. I was pleasantly surprised and grateful for the offer of the vehicle! More
