Our experience at Jenkins Mazda was quite bad! We took the hour drive up to Jenkins Mazda in Ocala to pick up a new 2016 Mazda CX-9, a good sized SUV that drives like a luxury sedan. Despite an app We took the hour drive up to Jenkins Mazda in Ocala to pick up a new 2016 Mazda CX-9, a good sized SUV that drives like a luxury sedan. Despite an appointment made the previous week, we waited for 2 ½ hours in the showroom before we could see the finance manager. He then informed us that we could not get the Mazda 0% financing because of the discount taken on the purchase price. We had been told that we could get this financing when we discussed and agreed upon the purchase price. Never was it said that we could get EITHER the 0% financing OR the price discount but not both. Manager Jeff refused to make any accommodation to honor the deal we thought we had. It is outrageous that we had to spend 2 1/2 hours in the showroom filling out what turned out to be meaningless forms, before seeing the finance person to finalize the purchase. Never having dealt with Jenkins Mazda before, we are left to assume that this oversight was deliberate. Was the time wasted in the waiting room poor management or part of the sales strategy? This was made all the worse as my wife is in the middle of cancer chemotherapy treatments for breast cancer and was barely able to walk into the showroom. Perhaps the stress we were under made us more sensitive to this mistreatment. What might you expect a great manager to do? New customers expecting to pick up a car after negotiating a deal and agreeing to the purchase price should be hosted by the finance/money manager directly to wrap up the sale. If a customer has to sit and wait for hours maybe they will have second thoughts about this purchase. Are more finance people needed? Second, a good manager would have tried to mitigate a deal going south. He could have investigated tweaking the purchase price or he could have offered to buy down the interest rate to a more acceptable rate at little cost to the dealership. Jeff's response was to tell me that if I paid off the car mortgage in 6 months I would have little finance charges to worry about! A useless response. “Let’s tweak the price”, “find a better bank rate,” “talk in my office,” call the next day to or at least apologize for the showroom wait? None of the above. This manager lacks tools, incentives and sensitivity to deal with this situation. A great vehicle worth a trip to a different dealer. More

Driving Matters. Long May It Last. My review is Car and Driver's review: "The Mazda 3 tops our compact-car rankings, largely on the strength of its athleticism. Mazda builds fun-to-dr My review is Car and Driver's review: "The Mazda 3 tops our compact-car rankings, largely on the strength of its athleticism. Mazda builds fun-to-drive cars with turbocharged engines, severe torque steering, heavier steering wheels, and stiffer suspensions. Five Japanese engineers were awarded the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers Medal for the Mazda 3’s SkyActive-G engine, and the zero-to-60 time is 7.5 seconds, but acceleration isn’t this car’s primary appeal. The Mazda 3 comes into its own on a two-lane back road with a variety of turns and a paucity of traffic. Chassis rigidity is on par with a bridge girder, body motions are modest, and the car responds to inputs with immediacy. At 2.6 turns lock-to-lock, the electric power steering is quick, informative, and dead-bang accurate. Attention steering engineers worldwide -- check out this system, learn, adopt. Dynamics are this car’s strong suit, and the prime reason we see the Mazda 3 as tops in its class. Many carmakers are fond of employing the term “DNA” in describing their vehicle lineups, but few have as much product justification for doing so as Mazda, and fewer still exhibit as much restraint. We hear a lot about zoom-zoom, of course, but that, too, seems justified. From top to bottom, Mazda’s offerings are uniquely uniform in terms of one key DNA trait: an engaging driving experience. As the age of the autonomous automobile draws ever nearer, Mazda continues to be guided by the premise that operating a motor vehicle should be both involving and gratifying. The new corporate mantra sums it up: DRIVING MATTERS. LONG MAY IT LAST." More
Bought a CX5 here. It was a good buying experience Jeff Lamb was an awesome salesman. Treated me fairly and took good care of me. I really like the vehicle, and I believe I got a fair price for it. THOUGHT I HAD A GOOD EXPERIENCE -- BOY, WAS I WRONG!! Bought my new CX5 in January 2017, Sales Dept. did fine; Finance Dept. did too. Everything seemed OK until I had to bring in to Service Dept. for a fractured wheel rim. Only had car for 5 weeks; hit nothing, avoided every pothole and road object, yet they said “I had to have hit something because a wheel won’t just break like that.” Dealership had car for almost 2 weeks. Never once did they contact me to let me know what was going on — I called 5 times to determine the status. First they told that one warehouse did not have the part; then told part had not come in yet; then told not sure when part was coming. Was even told to expect a call from Adrian Sanders (the service advisor who “handled” this) when he arrived at 9am, 3/22, but never got that call. When I was finally able to get my car back, they handed me an invoice for over $500 and told me that they would not put it through warranty because they didn’t think it would be accepted. Despite all of the calls I made to them, they never informed me of this charge, nor did they get authorization to proceed, which I thought was standard operating procedure. I would not have rejected the work, but it would have been nice to know about it beforehand. The answer from both the Kyle Cook, the service manager and Jeff Johnson, the general sales manager was they could put the old, broken wheel back on and not charge me anything — Seriously, Is That Your Solution?! The best they would do is give me $150 off, which they said was “giving me the wheel at way below cost.” It would have been nice to not come in blindly to an unexpected charge; a lot more communication is so very necessary on this dealership’s part. I’ll be looking for someplace else for my service if this does not improve. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ UPDATE: Shannon Rodas, Customer Relations Manager at Jenkins Mazda, contacted me and we are in the process of resolution. I will update this review accordingly. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ UPDATE ON 4/3: Shannon Rodas, Customer Relations Manager at Jenkins Mazda, is 5-star worthy! Given my situation with this dealership, she stepped in and stepped up, and we have resolved this issue. Their processes are being addressed and hope is that this will benefit all who go there for service. I'm going to give the service dept the benefit of the doubt and will go there for my vehicle's service and as they improve, I'll increase my rating here. More

I did everything via internet sales and spoke to both Jeff Lamb & Reagan Dean and within a very short time we had agreed on the price OTD. Told them I would be up 5 days later at 11am and when I drove the 2 hours to Jenkins Mazda everything was ready Jeff greeted me like an old friend and sat down did the paperwork and there were zero surprises.. I meet with Steven Heard in Finance no pressure at all did the signing and was out of his office in less than 10 minutes. Everyone in this dealership was very friendly and I WILL be buying my next car from Jenkins. More

Jenkins went above and beyond to help my family. Even though my husband and mine credit was under 550, Jenkins worked with us to get us in a car. This is the best place to get a car in Ocala by far. We had just driven a Honda Civic, which was then at the top our list, and decided to have a look at the Mazda 3, as I had a 2007 Mazda 3 and was very pleased with the car. German approached us on arrival, very courteous, not pushy and we told him we were looking at other brands as well. We had no intention of buying a car that day, just looking, famous last words I guess. We test drove the car, he was very knowledgeable, and asked what he needed to do to get our business. We drove off the lot that night with my new Mazda 3! German followed up with me to see if I was pleased with the car. He has been very professional. More
