Troy Smith showed me a JGC Overland V8 yesterday. Very friendly and knowledgable. He did his job well- asked for the sale, but didn't pressure me. Encouraged me to get a better price before coming back- h friendly and knowledgable. He did his job well- asked for the sale, but didn't pressure me. Encouraged me to get a better price before coming back- his pricing was very aggressive and i liked his honesty and style. Will definitely go back when I am ready to get this car and highly recommend asking for him when you go. More
I went into Jacksonville JCD on Black Friday to take advantage of their awesome door buster deals and to buy a "new" used car. I had received a pre approval from a lender and was only looking for the v advantage of their awesome door buster deals and to buy a "new" used car. I had received a pre approval from a lender and was only looking for the vehicle to fit the approval's perameters. When I arrived on the lot, Ron was the first to "greet" me by trying to qualify me, rather than really caring about the vehicle I was looking for. Once we got past all the formal b.s. we went to the used car side of the lot to begin looking for a vehicle. Keep in mind, before I ever began looking at vehicles I made Ron aware of prices, year model, mileage exceptions. He showed me first to an '03 Ford Explorer. The vehicle seemed in great condition but alas the miles were too high. Well, good ole' Ron had the perfect solution, there were TWO vehicles on the lot for me to chose from. There was an '06 Trailblazer with 60k miles in great shape and an '06 Equinox with rear bumper damage (need I say more). So I decided to take the Trailblazer out for a test drive and everything went perfect, once back at the dealership it was time to get down to business. Now, you know that someone has something to hide when they refuse to give you the price of a vehicle, nor will the provide a CarFax report (I found out later the vehicle they were trying to sell me had been in an accident). After spending two and a half hours waiting for all the paperwork to get started, I found out that they had run my credit and was trying to use another finance company. First of all, why would you run someone's credit if they have a pre approval, second, why didn't they just use the pre approval that was given without trying to be shady and run credit without letting me know that's what they were doing? Ok so, after we get through this garbage they tell me just go home and they will call me. Well I am glad I didn't hold my breath. It took 4.5 hours on Saturday to finally get ahold of someone. This is where things went from bad and shady to down right unacceptable. I was given a run around by a "Sales Manager" name Mike, who told me that my pre approval was no good, I needed a cosigner, and that I need $2500 down because that's the fee my pre approval company charged. So I called the loan company only to find out he is a liar. So to squash all of the doubts, runarounds, and lies, I made a 30 minute trip from the beaches to the dealership. When I got there, my sales guy was willing to help despite the fact he was busy, he went in to tell his "sales manager" I had come in to finish the deal. when he returned he told me all of the ridiculous conditions that had been given over the phone. In order to take care of any doubt, in the middle of the dealership, I got the loan company on the phone and handed the phone to Ron. Ron tried to get his "sales manager" to take the phone and talk to the loan company however he was declined because he knew he had been caught in his lies so instead of owning up to them and apologizing he stayed in his little office and sent poor Ron out to say, "sorry but we WONT do anything for you". So if this is the kind of experience you would like in trying to find a vehicle run right on down to this rip off and have a great time! More
I started this review and screen froze near the end of my story...so I will begin again. After an oil change on my 2010 Jeep Compass I bought new from your dealership and driving 2,000 miles alone on a trip I story...so I will begin again. After an oil change on my 2010 Jeep Compass I bought new from your dealership and driving 2,000 miles alone on a trip I realized my oil cap was never replaced. I brought it in and had Samantha for my Service Advisor. I asked to be with the mechanic when the hood was opened and he saw the oil all over the engine and no oil cap.She told me it wasn't allowed so I went to the waiting room. 15 minutes later she brought my keys to me and said I was ready to go. I was shocked! Another customer said a silver Jeep was out front with the hood opened. I started outside and they closed the hood. It took more than one time for me to tell them to open the hood before they finally did. I was shocked to think they expected me to take the car with oil still all over..but I did have a nice clean new yellow oil cap!! At that time Thomas Locke who I didn't know appeared and became the only one who cared about my problem. Thanks to him the engine was cleaned and the car detailed for me.I could not (and still can't) believe that is the way customers are treated when there is an obvious problem. I can't believe how rude and uncaring Samantha was. I was upset and shocked this was even happening and she didn't care at all!!! I cannot cay enough, however, about how kind and caring Thomas was. He HAS to be the most dedicated and caring employee at your dealership. He sat and talked to me and assured me my car would be cleaned before it was brought back to me. When I left I decided I would put this behind me and return for my services but NEVER have Samantha again. As Ken Kovacs wasn't in that day I sent him an email telling him about my experience. It is now a month later and he still has not been in any contact with me. I began having a problem with my blower switch last week. As it seems Ken doesn't care about customer care and follow up...I traded it in on Monday for a Honda CRV..the car I refused to buy a few years ago because I really wanted a Jeep. One last problem..I have called and left 2 messages and sent 1 email so far to your Finance Dept. I need to cancel my Car Care Service Plan and receive the remainder of my money back. No one has returned any of my requests.I called Fidelity Warranty and they told me I need to do it through the dealership. I guess this is one more reason to be glad I won't have to be ignored by Jeep again. Joyce Richards More
Do NOT buy anything from Jax CJD!!! I went in on Monday afternoon looking for used Jeep Wranglers and looking to spend somewhere around $15,000. The salesman I dealt with was Troy Smith, he was very friend afternoon looking for used Jeep Wranglers and looking to spend somewhere around $15,000. The salesman I dealt with was Troy Smith, he was very friendly and nice. The Jeep I liked was considerably more than $15k, however I was willing to spend some extra money. They were not willing to come off of the asking price at all, and I didn't feel comfortable buying it without doing some research first, since I was spending more than what I was originally planning on. I did my research that night, and decided that I was going to go back on Tuesday to purchase it. I went back Tuesday, and the Jeep had already sold that morning. (Come to find out that it actually sold for $2,000 less than what they were asking, even though they didn't want to budge on the price at all for me.) Since that one had already sold, Troy showed me some new Wranglers on Tuesday, and gave me pricing info, etc. Again, I was not comfortable making the purchase on Tuesday without doing some research first, since that was not what I went in there to purchase. I decided on Tuesday night that I was going to purchase a brand new one, but was also going to get some pricing from a couple of other dealers. I visited 2 other dealers on Wednesday morning and explained to them exactly what I wanted, and that I was getting prices from 2 other dealers. Both dealers had exactly what I wanted in stock, and both gave me prices that were substantially less than Jax CJD. Since Jax CJD had spent the most time working with me, I decided to go back there to give them the opportunity to make the sale, just by meeting what I had been quoted by another dealer. After talking to Troy, the manager came out and basically told me that he couldn't go as low as the other quotes that I has gotten, so I got up and shook his hand and told him to let me know if he changed his mind. As I was walking out, Troy came up to me and asked "What is your deal? I have taken time out of my schedule to work with you over the last 3 days and you are just going to walk out?" I apologized and just told him that there was no way that I was going to spend more money than I had been quoted by someone else for exactly the same thing. He then said, "Well do me a favor and don't come back and waste any more of my time." I could not believe how they treated me. Up to that point I had nothing against the salesman or the dealership. What they don't realize is that even though they couldn't work this deal out, I was still planning on coming back to possibly purchase 6 brand new Dodge Ram's for my business before the end of this year. Oh,well, I guess it is their loss. I am planning to go purchase my Jeep this weekend from the other dealership, and I will update this review as to how that goes, and to let everyone know what dealer it is. -Philip Schnorr More
Folks: Please do not waste your money at this dealer. It takes them forever to acknowledge you, even if that occurs. I usually buy imports, and now I see why American can dealers were in so much trouble. Pe takes them forever to acknowledge you, even if that occurs. I usually buy imports, and now I see why American can dealers were in so much trouble. People buy a car - poor experience. You try to have it serviced - awful. They look at me as if I stole something. They continue to hand you off to the next person. They told me that I would have to wait four days to have service. Awful. I went to Orange Park and was immediately serviced and taken care of as a customer and not a number. I almost considered selling my van because of the poor service. Hey, if I couldn't find a quality service team, then I would say the heck to Jax Chrysler Jeep Dodge (CJD). Well actually, I will never set foot in that dealership again. Don't just stop here. Report them to the Department of Whomever cares. Send reports to the Better Business Bureau. Send letters to the national office. I did. More
I completely regret buying a car from this dealership. It was a terrible experience. The sales manager was so unprofessional and arrogant. I live two hours away and I called the day before to confirm that th was a terrible experience. The sales manager was so unprofessional and arrogant. I live two hours away and I called the day before to confirm that the dealership had a selection of 2010 jeeps and the sales person assured me they had plenty to choose from. They actually had none; only 2011. The sales manager, Mike LaBonte actually admitted that they advertise this just to get people in the door. I bought a car from them, but I will not buy another or use their service department until LaBonte is gone. More
No service Department is the worst I ever had to deal with. You can't even speak to an actual person and voice messages( I left six ) are never returned. I even asked to speak to the service manager of c with. You can't even speak to an actual person and voice messages( I left six ) are never returned. I even asked to speak to the service manager of course it went to his voice mail. I call back and asked to speak to him directly and was told that he was out on the yard, but if I left my name and number with the front desk, she would make sure he call me back. Didn't happen. it took 2 day for them to find out my starter was bad and another 3 days to fix it. After I got my car back I call around to some other repair shops to get estimates on R&R for starters. Almost all were half what I was charged. More
Went in to look at Jeep Wranglers. I’m a first time buyer, so I was definitely a little naïve. My absolute cap was $12,000 and I told John (sales rep) this up front. I'd just walked away from another buyer, so I was definitely a little naïve. My absolute cap was $12,000 and I told John (sales rep) this up front. I'd just walked away from another dealership who had me at $12,500 for a different Jeep. He showed me a $26,000 vehicle and I laughed but he said, "Don't worry about the price. We're the largest dealer in the state so we can get you great prices." (I'll round numbers here) Negotiation started at $25,000 and they would give me $9000 for my current vehicle, bringing the Jeep down to $16,000. Still out of my league. He came back with $13,000 "if I could put down $6,000." I told him now we were talking. I talked them down another $1,000 to make it an even $12,000. They ran me through the myriad of papers to sign including the line item sheet, rushing the whole time because it was getting close to closing time. He pointed out the original price ($25,000), the amount for my trade in ($9,000), the final price ($13,000 after fees), and my $6,000. Everything looked in order. I signed the papers and rushed home to show the wife her new Jeep. That's when we realized the mistake - the $6,000 wasn't take off of the final $13,000. They took it off of the $16,000 to get me to $13,000. I went back the next morning to clear things up and I was treated like absolute dirt. I talked to John (sales rep) first and he totally backpedaled what he told me the previous day. He refused to let me talk to his manager so I literally had to stand up in the middle of the room and yell for a manager. A guy named Mike came over claiming to be the GM, listened to what happened, and then proceeded to insult both my intelligence (called me an idiot multiple times), said he thought I was lying and questioned my manhood (said I probably took it home and the wife threw a fit and told me to bring it back). Come to find out, he was NOT the GM. He brought over another guy who he said was the GM. I asked who in their right mind would pay $6000 to take the price from $16,000 to $13,000. They had no answer (dealership devil math). He, too, ended up not being the GM. I even asked them to buy the vehicle back from me if it was such a good deal - just reverse roles. They again backpedaled. Their solution to this $6,000 problem - they offered me a free tank of gas! You'd think a big company like this would have a GM around to hear what transpired and to try to make things right. I wasn't even allowed to talk to a GM. This was my very first car purchase. I went in with our savings and I left feeling cheated and belittled. What happened to the days when people did the right thing? Buyers beware. More
Terrible sales tactics! When we pointed out to the salesman that the price of the vehicle was overpriced he insulted us by shouting loudly in earshot of other customers that we should be looking at ch salesman that the price of the vehicle was overpriced he insulted us by shouting loudly in earshot of other customers that we should be looking at cheaper cars. The problem is that these salesmen are all scam artists! The worst part was when we tried to leave the salesman would not let us; he kept asking for a couple more minutes and then couldn't find our keys. After threatening to call the cops we finally got our keys back and left. It was the worst experience we ever had at a car dealership! We went to another dealership the next day and purchased the same car for a lot less and had a much better experience too. I would strongly urge anyone considering the purchase of a car to steer clear of this business. More
