We bought our Sonata at Henderson Hyundai in Las Vegas, Nevada on 8/4/2018. We purchased it as a “Hyundai Certified Pre-Owned” vehicle. The car had 48291 miles on it when we purchased the car. We purcha Nevada on 8/4/2018. We purchased it as a “Hyundai Certified Pre-Owned” vehicle. The car had 48291 miles on it when we purchased the car. We purchased an additional bumper to bumper warranty and GAP insurance. We have ONLY ever had the car serviced at a Hyundai dealership and have taken it in for all recalls and TSB’s. We moved to Georgia in May of 2023. On October 30th, 2024 we were on a road trip through Tennessee and the engine seized. We were left stranded on the expressway on a cold, wet morning and had to get towed to the nearest Hyundai dealership. We made it to Grayson Hyundai in Knoxville Tennessee and they were very good to us. Even though they had a month and a half backlog to even get a diagnosis, Service Advisor Cody asked the manager to be allowed to get us a quick evaluation so we could make a decision. The mechanic came back and said the engine had “locked up hard” and this was a known recall issue for my make and model of car. We rented a car to get back home and then rented a trailer to get the car from Tennessee to Georgia. We each had to take time off work to make the drive. We trailered it to Hyundai of Kennesaw (big mistake) and had the misfortune to get Rachel as a service advisor. Rude, uncaring and unprofessional, Rachel would not easily return phone calls or emails and lied to us about our car being done. It took a week for a diagnosis and then she said that because of “maintenance neglect” the car would not be approved for service. We explained that we had always maintained the vehicle at a Hyundai dealership and have taken excellent care of the car and Rachel requested our service records. We submitted these and waited again. Rachel finally called back and said that because the previous owner didn’t maintain the car, we are being denied the recall. Apparently the vehicle didn’t have service from 9K to 28K and 28K to 48K. We had to pay $208.00 in “diagnostic fees” and rent another trailer and take more time off to bring the car home. (They did say that if we wanted them to repair it, it would “only” be 8K.)We called Henderson Hyundai, where we bought the car, and spoke to Seth who gave us the TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) for our car and said that the previous maintenance shouldn’t matter in the least because: 1.) we bought the car “Hyundai Certified Pre-Owned” meaning that Hyundai itself says the car was sound when we bought it And 2.) the engine recall is not maintenance specific, meaning that it does not depend on service history. We were advised to try a different dealership. We called Terry Reid Hyundai in Cartersville and spoke with Rafael who agreed with Seth and requested us to bring the car in asap. We took more time off work and rented another trailer and brought it in to Terry Reid. After 2 days, Rafael called back and said that Hyundai of Kennesaw had put something in the computer that makes Hyundai hard-deny us and there is nothing that he can do. He says that if we hadn’t taken it to Hyundai of Kennesaw, he could probably have gotten it fixed, but because of whatever they have in the system, the car will never be fixed. We feel this is outrageous. We now have to take more time off work, pay another $190.00 in “diagnostic fees” and rent another trailer. We did nothing wrong! We bought a car “Hyundai Certified Pre-Owned” from a Hyundai dealership. We bought an additional warranty. We have had the vehicle only serviced a Hyundai dealership. We wanted to keep this car for another 5-7 years. We do not have money for another car payment. We use this car for errands, store, road trips.. everything. Why can we not get a car with an active TSB and 2 recalls on the engine repaired? We are going to get our car and then go to see our lawyer! Do not go to this place! More
Towed in with brake problem, they had it for 4 days without looking at it. Emergencies should come from first, if they can drive they can wait. They took nothing apart and guessed that I need $3000 br without looking at it. Emergencies should come from first, if they can drive they can wait. They took nothing apart and guessed that I need $3000 brake work. Towed it home and found that most of the parts they said I desperately needed were just fine. I paid $200 diagnostic fee and $150 tow, waited 4 days for them to do noting! And they got the wrong answer! More
Brought our 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport 2. 0T in for a safety recall on an ABS Fuse issue. Left the vehicle there for recall remediation at 11:30AM. Received an email later with the following r 0T in for a safety recall on an ABS Fuse issue. Left the vehicle there for recall remediation at 11:30AM. Received an email later with the following recommendations from a courtesy inspection that we did not request: Drive Belts - Replace $325.02, Cabin Air Filter - Replace $74.95, Coolant Exchange (Flush) $207.75, Brake Fluid Exchange (Flush) $207.75, REPLACE SPARK PLUGS - $340.00, ETHANOL FUEL TREATMENT $25.95, COMPLETE GDI FUEL/ AIR INDUCTION SERVICE $249.95, FUEL INJECTOR TREATMENT $24.95, DIAG DRIVERS SIDE DOOR OPEN LIGHT STAYS ON $370!! $$$$$$! Our door light was working fine when we dropped off our vehicle! The service writer, Larry, argued with me that I knew it was not working when we left the car. NOT TRUE, so he essentially claimed I was not being truthful. That's not my nature. I had nothing to gain by lieing about the door light. It's something that I would easily address on my own. There was no need for me to try and get the dealership to make a repair without being paid. We then spoke with the service manager Joe Tilly who said that the door light issue was a mystery and probably coincidently occurred while there at the dealership. HE WOULD NOT TAKE RESPOSIBILTY. WORKED FINE WHEN LEFT, NOW BROKEN. AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP! More
Brian Walker has been the SA for me the last couple of years visits. He’s prompted coming to the car as I drive in. He has always been helpful and has good costumer communication skills. He lets me know w years visits. He’s prompted coming to the car as I drive in. He has always been helpful and has good costumer communication skills. He lets me know what is possibly coming up that would need to be addressed. Dropping off the car is the only way I have experienced the service department but that’s my preference anyway. Thumbs 👍 up to Brian More
I purchased my 2024 Tuscon Hybrid in May; today was the first time I took it for service. You need to know this is the worst service department ever. I went online and scheduled a service time, and when I first time I took it for service. You need to know this is the worst service department ever. I went online and scheduled a service time, and when I dropped my car off the night before, I did not hear from anyone until I called later in the day. Once I spoke with a service tech, I was told that it would be 5-7 days before they could run a diagnostic on my brand-new Tuscon. I asked if I could pick it up and return it when it was closer to the appointment time and was told no. Needless to say, I cannot go without a vehicle for 5-7 days, so I told them I would be up to pick up my car. Once I arrived, Randy, my service tech, was rude and condescending. Clearly, he has issues with dealing with women and felt like it's appropriate to talk down to me. I will not return to this dealership, and I would encourage any woman to find another dealership. This was the worse auto repair experience that I have ever had. We arrived the day after they called saying that the repairs were completed and the vehicle was ready. When we arrived they could not get t ever had. We arrived the day after they called saying that the repairs were completed and the vehicle was ready. When we arrived they could not get the car started due to a dead battery which seems very unacceptable considering they just completed $3000 worth of electrical repairs to the vehicle. At first the service advisor used the excuse that a vehicle that sits for an extended time will have a drained battery which was not valid considering we just received the call the day before stating the repairs are all done. Then the advisor acted very reluctant to sale us a battery I’m guessing because it was now near time for them to close the shop. Rather than take the time and concern for our safety and well being he expected us to leave with a car that had a dead battery which would leave us stranded moments after we just paid them over $3000 for electrical repairs. We then left out to find another auto store to replace our battery and then noticed that the radio will now not power on. All I can do is hope that they will take responsibility for the radio issue even though I hate the thought of having to deal with them again. I will never take another Hyundai of ours to this service dealer. More
First of all the dealership was great in the beginning. It was after I left the dealership all the trouble began. The most important thing you should know is they don’t service there vehicles prior to sell It was after I left the dealership all the trouble began. The most important thing you should know is they don’t service there vehicles prior to selling them. I had not even driven my vehicle 300 miles when the battery stopped charging, so I took it to Acura who stated it needed a new battery, in addition an oil change and tires were also needing replacing. How can you possibly sell a vehicle and tell a customer that it had been inspected and it have this many problems???? I specifically asked for the paperwork showing the battery had been checked and they conveniently lost this!!! After not only leaving messages with Carlos(Used Car Manager) and Jason(General Manager)not one phone call has been returned to me. In addition Krause Automotive(Vernon Krause) owns this dealership and he has not even contacted me back after several emails. DO NOT BUY YOUR VEHICLE FROM ANY KRAUSE AUTOMOTIVE GROUP DEALERSHIP ESPECIALLY HYUNDAI OF KENNESAW!!!! More
Sold me a car for cash and did not issue the title for over three months. Once the title arrived, it was describing a completely different model. I spent numerous hours calling and then escalating to th over three months. Once the title arrived, it was describing a completely different model. I spent numerous hours calling and then escalating to the top management and they would not budge. Terrible after-sale customer service! I had to spend one whole day at the tag and title office to obtain the correct title and to correct the mistakes their administrators made. While I didn't have the title for months, I had to make many calls to the dealership to extend my license plate and there was a period I could not drive the car because of the expired temp tag. I would never visit this place again. More
