I read the reviews of the three Honda dealers within easy distance from my home and was apalled by how negative most reviewers' opinions were of the sales staffs. I was on the verge of not even looking at a distance from my home and was apalled by how negative most reviewers' opinions were of the sales staffs. I was on the verge of not even looking at a Honda but I decided to give it a stab while being ready to walk out at the first sign of anything that bugged me. South Shore was the closest to my home, and I'd bought a car there many years ago, so I decided I'd go there. To tell the truth, I had the best car leasing experience of my life. And I've leased at least half a dozen cars before. There were a couple of models my wife and I were interested in, but my sales associate, Ziggy, clarified the differences between them and I decided to get one of the Civics. My only issue was which color and whether to get a four door or a coupe. Once I decided, the leasing process was a cinch. My son had just leased a similar car and got a very good deal at his dealer in New Jersey. So I was prepared to leave if I couldn't get something similar. Ziggy showed me several payment options, and though I chose something slightly different than my son's, the result was just as good. Everything took about an hour and half, including the usual talk with a finance officer (Andre, a nice guy, but hard to hear because he mumbles in a quiet voice). We went back the next day to pick up the car, and Ziggy was ready for us at our appointed time. Within an hour, he had handled all the paper work, given us instructions on the use of the car, and shook our hands in congratulations. It really was, slam, bam, thank you, M'am. I have no idea of what happened with those who didn't have a good experience at South Shore, but I've had my own share of lousy car buying experiences so I know how things can go wrong. Happily, they did not this time, for which I'm very grateful. More
The management in this dealership is the most unprofessional I have ever interacted with. The General Manager, Ed Parlow is not qualified to run a dealership. Honda of America needs to know the unprofessional I have ever interacted with. The General Manager, Ed Parlow is not qualified to run a dealership. Honda of America needs to know the type of individuals representing their product. My experience makes me wonder what Honda is really thinking about when it comes to customer service. It surprises me that this dealership is still in business. The women in charge of customer service, Sabrina Smith had personally apologized to me for the level of service and went so far as to tell me many of the sale people working there should have been fired a log time ago. Imagine a representative of the dealership admitting the staff is incompetent. Rest assured I will be reaching out to Honda corporate. More
I went to this dealer, after going to like 5 other Honda dealers, and I must say that its smaller than the other dealers I went to, but the atmosphere was very customer friendly. Everyone said hello and ask dealers, and I must say that its smaller than the other dealers I went to, but the atmosphere was very customer friendly. Everyone said hello and asked me if i needed assistance. I finally came across an older man named Bill. I purchased my Accord v6 from Bill because he was very thorough and honest. I must admit, When I first came in the dealer i based it upon size, thinking they wouldnt have much in their inventory, but they had the car I wanted. There was no stress at this dealer and the price was right! I will be going back after my lease is over. More
After leasing five cars with South Shore Honda, I will never lease with them again. I was promised a vehicle in 7-10 days and was never called to be notified as to why it had not been received almost a m never lease with them again. I was promised a vehicle in 7-10 days and was never called to be notified as to why it had not been received almost a month later. Each time I called, I was given the run around and each person said that it would in "tomorrow." After finally contacting the store manager, he promised a car the next day, but was rude and glib when I asked about how the situation would be resolved with my finance company. I was 3 days over the grace period and would have to pay another month's lease. He promised to contact the finance company, but I knew that I would be billed and when questioning him about the logisitics of the late fee, as I had been advised by Honda Finance, he became annoyed and spoke to me as if he couldn't care less. I will get my car, but I will never go back there again. It's unfortunate because a simple apology would have done the trick and we never got that. More
My lease was up and I had to return my car. I set up an appointment with Charlie who said he doesn't work on fridays, but Albert could help me out. We said what time and he said after 12, so we said fine appointment with Charlie who said he doesn't work on fridays, but Albert could help me out. We said what time and he said after 12, so we said fine, but then he changed the time to 9:30. So we said that is fine. We bring the car in at 9:30 and Albert is not there. They tell us that we can come back at 12 and Charlie will be there to help us. Now Charlie said he doesn't work on Fridays, but obviously he does. We asked if anyone else can help us because we can't come back at 12, as just like them, we have to work to. The manager was rude and said she can't help and we have to come back. If your a manager of a place don't you think that she should be able to handle every aspect of the business including a simple lease return. Well after 45 minutes of trying to get help from workers who all sat like manequins, Albert shows up at 10:15. Not a great customer service place. I would not recommend them to anyone. Lucky I had no problems with my car but I would hate how a reputable place like Honda can keep some of these dealerships the way they are run. Read my review for Atlantic Honda and soon to be reviewed Boch Honda in Mass which might actually get a positive rating More
I leased an Odyssey (Great minivan) from South Shore Honda with no problems. I have been trying to return it for three days now, and left several messages for their return coordinator (Charlie) to call Honda with no problems. I have been trying to return it for three days now, and left several messages for their return coordinator (Charlie) to call me and schedule the return. He or anyone else from the dealer has returned my calls. I have called Honda three times to see if they have any control over South Shore Honda to no avail. The South Shore Honda states that this is a very busy time (I am happy for them, that they are making lots of money), but I called South Shore Honda today (Fri 6/2) and they say Charlie is off. I am very thankful that I had no problems with the car during the lease. Who know what kind of miserable service they would have given. More
