Fantastic Sales and Service After thinking about new cars for several months and getting serious in the final couple weeks due to the end of the year sales we found ourselves wai After thinking about new cars for several months and getting serious in the final couple weeks due to the end of the year sales we found ourselves waiting for a vehicle to be serviced across from Hinshaws and a couple hours to kill. We decided to go test drive a couple cars since we hadn't looked at Hondas yet. As usual we were met in the lot by a a sales rep and looked at both the Fit and Accord. The rep knew the cars inside and out along with the features and goodies that each options package included. Mitch Meler (sales rep) listened to exactly what we were looking for and presented us exactly what we wanted. My wife was looking for a small hatchback (Fit) so we spent a little time on looking at the car and took it for a test drive. I was looking for something a little bigger and need some passenger space but wanted to stay as green as possible. As it turns out 2017 included the Accord Hybrid which we spent a little more time looking at. They didn't have a touring hybrid model on site so Mitch found a touring gas model so I could see what the dash looked like but took us for a test drive in a hybrid so we could see how it operated. We had no intention of purchasing a car that day but because we already had driven other cars in the same class and had done our homework an informed logical (vs. emotional) decision could be made. We bought both cars because Mitch was listening to what we needed and simply presented the right options. He didn't apply any pressure but did ask for the sale at the appropriate time. Included in the deal for just a little extra upsell we opted for the chip protection package simply because it made sense. This leads me to our first experience in the service department: Both cars were scheduled for the chip protection installation/application within the week following the purchase. By the time the Fit came in for its appointment we had discovered an issue with the sound system reading a USB stick so I asked about it when dropping off the car. A technician was dispatched while I was there and showed how it worked with his USB tester. I later found the issue to be in the USB stick so even though it worked in the Accord the Fit didn't like how fast it responded. All this to say the service department had the issue under control without a special appointment. While both cars were in we enjoyed the use of a loaner car which simply made getting home after dropping off the car no issue. The shopping, purchase, and service we have received to date has been stellar. If you are considering the purchase of a new car and Honda is in the running come with your bank account ready to buy a car and seek out Mitch Meler. You are very likely to drive away happily in a new car. PS. Our shopping day was Black Friday; by COB Saturday we were rid of our "trade-in" and had taken delivery of both the Accord Touring Hybrid and the Fit. A couple weeks later there is no hint of regret and will come looking for Mitch in the future when we are looking for replacements. While we were left alone for more than 5 minutes (mentioned below in one of the questions) it was by design. We needed privacy to make a decision and we were allowed that time; very much appreciated... More
