Since I bought my MDX 5 + years ago and my previous MDX purchase from Hinshaw Acura I have always preferred using their service department even though I could go to closer places to my home to service my c purchase from Hinshaw Acura I have always preferred using their service department even though I could go to closer places to my home to service my car. We bought our first Acura because of Acura’s reputation for excellence and we many years and are overdue in submitting a review in support of them. We bought our first Acura because of Acura’s reputation for excellence and we were not disappointed. We have continued our relationship with Hinshaw’s Acura because the service team is so outstanding. Kelly leads the team that includes some of the finest technicians we have worked with. We have a 1999 vehicle that has over 220,000 miles on it thanks to the care given it by the crew in the back, thanks Cliff! We have two more vehicles that we take to Hinshaw’s Acura on a regular schedule for maintenance and we fully expect these vehicles will make the 220,000 mark as well. George, Eric and Mike are always available to answer our questions, schedule our appointments (sometimes at the very last minute!) setting up loaner cars for us, tracking down an obscure part and following up with a phone call to make sure our visit was satisfactory. I really appreciate taking in a dirty car that needs an oil change and in no time leaving Hinshaw’s Acura with a shiny clean, vacuumed car. Full service, indeed! I purchased my certified pre-owned Acura TL from Hinshaw's about 6 months ago. Larry was great during the initial sales transaction. Mike has made sure that my car has been taken care of thoroughly and I have always been treated very kindly when I have come in. Even after 6 months Larry still remembers me and what car I bought. I am always forgetting to make an appointment to service my vehicle but it's never a problem. There friendly,professional and never will charge u for services you don't need. Agreed to price+TTL for new TL type S NAV with salesman, no trade, and no financing, but each time they drew it up for me to sign, they tried to sneak in another $150.00. I was livid, but I had the last laugh when I got the exact same car at Acura of Bellevue for $570.00 less, AND they have been wonderful to deal with! I drive more than 25 miles out of the way to avoid dealing with these criminals! PLEASE! At just three years old, my Acura began having problems. Over the course of eighteen months, I was stranded a total of six times, with two major issues. The first issue took the service staff two visits to fix; the second took three visits; and nearly every visit was out of pocket. Throughout, I have documentation that I was extremely explicit about the problems. I quantified everything, included the rpms and speeds that particular issues occurred. I was told the problems were my fault and asked pedantic questions with misogynistic overtones when our battery continued to fail (even after a new 100-month Acura battery was put in) such as: "Well, do you listen to the radio with the car off?" When I replied no, the service department employee then asked, "Well, do you talk on your blutooth with the car off?" to which I replied, "Absolutely not, because that broke, too." Even with the information that there was a failed blutooth, it took one more stranding and another visit for them to determine that the blutooth had a slow drain on the battery. At that point, they decided the car was out of warranty (surprise). When we asked them to work a deal with us we were referred to the head office. We spoke with a case worker who, after communicating with the Acura of Fife, told us that the service department there no longer wanted to work with us. The result? A problem car, no warranty, and a service department that had abandoned us. I thought, perhaps, that we were the odd customer out, but having looked at their summary of ratings, perhaps we're the norm. Since then, we have solved the problem, paid off the vehicle and traded it in for a brand we've purchased in the past that has a much better track record. We will NEVER buy another Acura or Honda product, and we are Acura's targeted demographic. More
