Increasingly poor service ending in disaster Having bought my Subaru from this dealership (then Russel), as it aged, I assumed that the dealer would be the BEST service to enhance the Subaru Fore Having bought my Subaru from this dealership (then Russel), as it aged, I assumed that the dealer would be the BEST service to enhance the Subaru Forester's legendary longevity. Starting last year, there were experiences with lack of accurate communication, missed deadlines and, worse, endangerment to my safety in the way that Heritage serviced the car. While I was willing to pay for the higher price of service for these issues they said were necessary (new rack and pinion as well as steering pump), getting an accurate diagnosis as well as repair stretched over many weeks. The same symptoms as LOSS of tight steering appeared. At my last visits, I urged them to fully check out the AC/Heat system. Several weeks later the AC belt broke and hit the Timing Belt and within minutes the engine was fatally damaged. I now have a well-cared for 2002 Forester with only 125,000 miles, no rust, clean interior and lots of new parts that sits on a lot and is worth little. All preventable, but not from Heritage Subaru Service. More
