It was definitely the most enjoyable car purchase experience I've ever had. Love my Volvo More

Rude salesman I went to Rick Hendrick Volvo today. I had my car serviced and received excellent customer service. My husband is active duty military and car repairs I went to Rick Hendrick Volvo today. I had my car serviced and received excellent customer service. My husband is active duty military and car repairs are something I dread when he is deployed as is currently the situation. I was so pleased with my service and loved my loaner car. I told my husband who did some internet shopping. He found a car we both were interested in. I spoke with my service agent about waiting until morning to turn in my loaner and checking out this car. It was already 4pm at this time. He said sure just let him know what I decided after speaking to sales. I went in this morning by 10 as I promised my service agent. I was greeted warmly by a friendly customer service lady that took a minute to acknowledge me as a person before inquiring about my needs. She was helpful as I explained I saw a car on line and came in for that reason. She located the car, got me and my daughter settled, and found a salesperson. My daughter was on crutches so she had the car brought to us to assist. This was my first buying experience as I am normally the one to pick out and my husband handles the rest. The salesman brought the car. I explained I had a loaner for the last hour and loved it. I didn't need to test drive unless I decided on this one. He stood on the sidewalk as I viewed the car. I asked about the warranty which he said yes it does but no details. I had to ask more questions for those answers. Then I asked about the sunroof because I couldn't figure it out on loaner. He replied hit the button again. I asked about the hot spot. It's the world he states. He never cut the car on to show me these features or left the sidewalk. This was off compared to my other 2 buying experiences. I came back in to discuss the deal as I did like the car. He made me an offer and then raised it $5000. He said no loyalty credit or military credit it was against policy. There was no negotiating because that was against policy. He went to the service area and moved my car to the main lot where others were looking into it as if it were for sale. He offered me a low ball number for my trade in. I told him the website where they have it listed said above market trade in. he asked what I thought my car was worth and I told him. He laughed and said "yea right". I had my tax statement with me from the county stating what I had said. I also showed him the internet statement about the trade in. He stated; "yea, no! My manager gave my sister a low number too. She took hers to carmax for more and brought back that money to buy. It's Rick Hendrick Policy." I again stated I would buy for the price on the printed offer he gave me but not money added on. My car needed tires because of a nail in it and a serpuntine belt. Routine stuff nothing crazy to tack on $5,000. I again stated this was my 3 car to buy from them in 10 years and my loyalty and return as a customer was worth losing over $5,000. He replied:"we are busy and have lots of customers." My dad raised me on volvo and a couple other brands. I have brand loyalty and will stay with Volvo. But I will not purchase from this dealership. These policies were not in place when I purchased 3 years ago. My husband felt I was treated badly because I am a woman and is deployed. The customer service at guest services and service department was amazing. I don't think my salesman would have even known my name if the customer service agent hadn't have told him. He had no interest in my sale or even taking the time to show me a car. More

My son bought his first car and the experience could not have been any better. They had a bunch of pre-owned cars so it was easy to find one right for him. Our Sales person Tanju Tercanli could not have been friendlier or more professional. He truly went above and beyond. Phillip McCabe the financial services manager also helped save us money with a great interest rate and a great offering of protection plans to ensure that our car will run great for a long time. These folks really understand customer service and provide a premium experience at super competitive prices. More
Horrible experience WORST EXPERIENCE.. I never take the time out to post a review, but what nonsense. I am a local business owner & operator in Charleston and I would nev WORST EXPERIENCE.. I never take the time out to post a review, but what nonsense. I am a local business owner & operator in Charleston and I would never dare treat a customer like I was treated, and if any of my employees did they would no longer be working for me. First salesman was extremely lazy he didn’t even want to fetch the keys for a test drive. Then we had some issues evaluating our trade in. They would not evaluate our car because they said it was a corporate policy that If were working with another rick Hendrick store then it was not allowed. We would have to go and pick up the car and bring it to him. That’s weird since we have been to 5 Rick Hendrick stores today and they all provided them no problem. I requested the general manager and he came out and was very confrontational on the sales floor in front of everyone. Very unprofessional and he still would not override this very immature decision to do an evaluation. I explained to him that I am going to go and buy from a different Volvo dealership and he said ok. Wow! No concern to keep me as a customer. I have never felt so mistreated as a customer. I have bought at least 7 vehicles from Rick Hendrick over the past few years. I will be sure to never buy one in the future and I will also make sure I go out of my way to let everyone know how these guys care more about themselves then there customers.I brought this complaint directly to the GM and he did nothing to resolve, so I am here to tell everyone else.. BEWARE of this place, what a disgrace .. such beautiful cars yet such horrible people. More

Miserable Experience A used 2016 Volvo XC60 was advertised with certain packages and the ad indicated the advertised price included the dealership's Administrative Fee. T A used 2016 Volvo XC60 was advertised with certain packages and the ad indicated the advertised price included the dealership's Administrative Fee. This fee, which the salesman indicated is "required" is really nothing more than a ploy to get more money from the buyer. In this case the salesman agreed to deduct the admin fee as a part of the negotiated price, but I came to find out he first added it onto the purchase worksheet and then subtracted it back off (Hmm). Additionally, an advertised option package worth over $2,000 wasn't actually on the vehicle. When I pointed both of these issues out the Manager said guess they made a mistake in the ad and they would not adjust the purchase price. Oh, and the salesman also indicated the vehicle was a "Factory Demonstrator", but the carfax shows that it was owned by an individual and purchased by the dealership at auction. Last but not least is the "Finance Guy" - can't wait till you meet him. Everyone gets funneled through finance at this dealership as one final attempt at fleecing the buyer. He insisted on aggressively pushing not one, not two but five separate extended warranty arrangements and then tries to make you feel stupid if you don't fall for this old swindle. What a miserable buying experience (we ended up not buying the car). Bottom line, there are a lot better places to buy a vehicle! More
terrible attempted car buying I was in the market for a new Volvo XC60. I visited the dealership to test drive the car. My sales guy was friendly but did not know anything about I was in the market for a new Volvo XC60. I visited the dealership to test drive the car. My sales guy was friendly but did not know anything about the car. I had to go home and look up a majority of my questions on the volvo website. Doing a test drive with him was definitely a waste of time. I returned to the dealership ready to purchase a new XC60 with a USAA savings certificate. All dealers that participate in the USAA savings program are required to honor the price (which is based on the true car value). This dealership did not want to honor that price. I had to negotiate them down to it and then they had all kinds of hidden fees. They refused to negotiate further. I called multiple other dealerships in the state and had a better experience with every single one of them. I purchased the car in Greenville the following day for $5000 less than Volvo of Charleston would agree to. Greenville was also able to offer me better financing than Volvo of Charleston even though both do their financing through Volvo Financial. I would never recommend anyone visit this dealership. It would be a complete waste of time to do so. Usually customer service is great when you are trying to purchase a car and this was not the case at all. I am very nervous to bring my car in for a servicing. I will likely drive to Myrtle Beach to avoid any further dealings with this dealership. I also find it interesting that there are only 3 reviews on this site when most car dealerships have over a hundred. They obviously do not pass out a flyer to rate them on dealer rater because they know they will have bad reviews More
