I purchased a used car from Hendricks Toyota and two aspects of the transaction in my opinion were unsatisfactory: When I offered to purchase the car, I asked to redeem a discount offer for $300 rece aspects of the transaction in my opinion were unsatisfactory: When I offered to purchase the car, I asked to redeem a discount offer for $300 received from the dealership for that specific car through the AutoTrader mobile app. I was informed the promotional offer was invalid, because the dealer did not have sufficient profit margin on the car to honor the promotional offer. When I drove the car home the next day, I discovered a rear brake light and front turn signal indicator were inoperative. I contacted the dealer to inform them of these safety problems and asked to have them corrected at no charge. The sales manager promptly informed me “there will be no fixing the vehicle at no charge”. The car passed a state inspection by the dealer in early January, but evidently Hendricks does not perform a pre-delivery inspection. Considering the substantial $699 administrative fee this dealer charges and the stature of this company, I was dismayed by how these issues were handled. I did have a great experience with Earl in service, who quickly fixed a minor problem identified during the test drive. I recommend taking the following precautions when working with this dealer.... 1) Request any promotional offers received be validated in advance, including assurance the dealer has sufficient profit margin to honor the offer. 2) Request a dealer representative demonstrate all components on the vehicle required to pass state safety inspection operate properly before completing a purchase.
