I have purchased several new cars in my life, but I have never had a more positive buying experience than the one with Doug at Harbor Hyundai. I do not write reviews (either positive or negative) regarding never had a more positive buying experience than the one with Doug at Harbor Hyundai. I do not write reviews (either positive or negative) regarding any type of purchase, but I was absolutely blown away with my buying experience at this dealership. Imagine purchasing a car without having to haggle over the price. Sounds like Fantasy Island, right? I was very skeptical even when I arrived at Harbor; everything just seemed too good to be true. Doug had kept me informed of the car's arrival prior to my purchase and took special care to ensure it was ready for pickup when I arrived. The dealership closes at 9 pm, but Doug stayed late (past 10 pm) to ensure I was familiar with the vehicle’s features before I took ownership. We had agreed upon the price prior to my arrival and Doug did not use any obscure sales tactics to try to up the price. This was my third Hyundai purchase (Sonata, Accent, and now Elantra). My wife and I plan to buy a Genesis or Equus for her in a couple of years and another Accent for our youngest son in about 3 years. I will not go to another dealership or another sales person other than Doug and Harbor Hyundai. If you want to purchase a Hyundai for a fair price without any hassles, you need to talk to Doug at Harbor Hyundai. More
I chose harbor Hyundai because they gave me the best deal around. Frank Leon and Joshua Garcia were very helpful in the process. When we visited everyone was friendly. However, i wish the finance manager did around. Frank Leon and Joshua Garcia were very helpful in the process. When we visited everyone was friendly. A truly great experience. No hassle, no haggling, and really great service. I've had some bad sales experiences before but our salesperson Mike Casalegno went above and beyond what was called for. He spe really great service. I've had some bad sales experiences before but our salesperson Mike Casalegno went above and beyond what was called for. He spent days looking for the exact car we wanted, calling numerous dealerships, and when he found our car he contacted us right away with a quote -- which was the lowest price by a long shot out of the 5 dealerships I contacted AND from what CarsDirect quoted me -- then at the dealership we paid the EXACT agreed upon price with NO hassle, including from the sales manager who was really pleasant. Everything was explained clearly, we were given our time to consider things and respond, and there was never any pressure, even though Mike had done so much for us. By far the best experience I've ever had at a dealership, better than I could have expected, and the price for my 2012 Sonata can not be beat. More

Both myself and my wife were impressed with Frank's courtesy and professionalism. It was probably the best car buying experience we ever had, one of the very few times when we didn't feel like we were courtesy and professionalism. I found myself in the unusual circumstance of needing to spend some money on a car (you read right – there was money that needed to be spent and it needed to be on a car). I considered replacing my 20 ye spend some money on a car (you read right – there was money that needed to be spent and it needed to be on a car). I considered replacing my 20 year old Accord LX Coupe with the current version of the same, but I don’t love the looks of the current Accord, and being tall I cannot have the EX version since the moon-roof takes away almost two inches of headroom. So no six-speed Accord with a six-cylinder will fit me. The LX with a four-cylinder and a five-speed is about all that Honda has to offer a tall guy who drives a stick. And I already have one of those; doing pretty well for a 20 year-old with 240,000 on the clock. I didn’t want a sedan or SUV, so I looked at some other coupes on Edmunds and Kelly. I noticed that the Hyundai Genesis had about the same headroom as the Accord, and more – almost two inches more – driver’s legroom. This really caught my eye, since I had previously installed an aftermarket driver’s seat in my old Honda in order to move the seat further back and I assumed that I would have to do so again in whatever I bought. But maybe not in the Hyundai. And Hyundai offers both a Turbo four-cylinder and a six-cylinder - either one with a six-speed. So I was interested. When I looked at dealer ratings online I found that the Hyundai dealer in Garden Grove didn’t score so well with reviewers, but that Harbor Hyundai in Long Beach did pretty good. So on Sunday morning I drove to Long Beach to have a look at the Genesis Coupe. James Kraft introduced himself as I walked up to the building and I told him essentially what I’ve written above. He said that they had a few of the coupes and we walked out back to have a look. James is a very easy guy to get along with on a car lot. He showed me the car. That’s all. He answered my questions and pointed out a few things that I didn’t ask about. When I’d looked it over for a bit I thought about leaving and doing more research but instead I said, “shall I drive it?” James replied, “up to you”. So I drove it. He and I talked about the car while we drove. I liked the car pretty well. When we got back to the dealership we went to James’s desk and exchanged contact info. Then he pulled up the dealership’s website and showed me their current ad for the Genesis Coupe, just to give me some idea what the pricing would be like. Of course the big-print price ($19995) required that one qualify for three different rebates, but I understand that kind of advertising and knew that, like virtually everybody else, I would qualify for only one of the three. But the small-print pricing gave me a good idea what to expect. I told James that I would call him on Wednesday, whatever I decided about the car. Wednesday afternoon I gave James a call and we set up a time to get together. When I got there I looked the car over reasonably carefully and didn’t see any cosmetic problems whose correction would need to be written into the contract. Then we went inside and James started taking information for a credit check, even though he knew that I planned to pay cash. I said something like “this is to get approval to negotiate?” and he replied with something like “nothing to negotiate, you’re paying the price in the ad”. Which was what I had intended to negotiate anyway. Advertised price (which I paid) was $21395 less the $500 rebate, so it came to $20895 plus tax and fees. Edmunds and Kelly put invoice between $22100 and $22200, so I paid five percent or so below invoice. This is the first time in twenty years that I’ve bought a new car from a dealer. In that situation, I don’t worry about making a mistake of a few hundred dollars – I worry about not making a thousand dollar mistake. I think I did okay here, but who (besides the dealer) ever really knows? Ten days on and no buyer’s remorse yet, not even for the finish protection package that I bought knowing that it’s a major dealer profit item (I suspect, and hope, that James got a good commission out of what I paid for that). Note: I kept my old Honda, so I cannot comment on the trade-in experience at Harbor Hyundai. More
From the beginning Paul provided us exactly what we needed: a clear explanation of the price of the car with the features we wanted and all other fees included. We had many frustrating experiences with needed: a clear explanation of the price of the car with the features we wanted and all other fees included. We had many frustrating experiences with other dealerships that pushed options we didn't need or promised rebates and prices they could not deliver. After working with Paul we felt confident that we got a very good deal with no surprises. If you want to check out a car in a low-pressure environment and to get straight answers to your questions about features and price, go to this dealership. If we need to get a second car, we will come back here without hesitation. More
