Hi! I purchased a car last weekend at Harbor Hyundai from Doug Van Dyck. I have to say that I have not experienced a car salesperson like Doug before-most are very pushy (no offense) and play games. But, Doug has been patient, given me good information and gave me a bottom line price when I told him what another dealer had. If you live anywhere in Southern California and are interested in buying a new Hyundai - GO TO HARBOR HYUNDAI! My mother expressed that she was interested in the new 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe, so I spent r interested in buying a new Hyundai - GO TO HARBOR HYUNDAI! My mother expressed that she was interested in the new 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe, so I spent roughly two weeks researching and quote-shopping from a number of dealers in and around our area [Oxnard]. Of the nearly 8 dealerships that I inquired from, Harbor Hyundai was the only one that seemed truly interested in our business. Even our own local Hyundai dealership - where my mother had just purchased her previous Hyundai Santa Fe from only two years ago - essentially told us to take our business elsewhere, because we walked in the door with our price, terms and conditions already established, with the expectation that our salesperson would labor and sweat and do whatever was necessary to meet them. We had encountered the typical sleazy, disgusting dealership tactics, mind games and magic tricks in the past, so going forward this time, we felt like the CAR SALESMAN should be the one sweating, working hard and stressed out...not us! Ruben at Harbor Hyundai, quite literally, bent over backwards to meet my mother's needs. He endured a little bit of name calling and frustrated phone conversations and e-mails, but he took it all in great stride and handled himself with extraordinary grace and dignity, and demonstrated remarkable forgiveness and mercy and understanding towards our situation. He worked tirelessly to find a lender who was willing to give my mother the terms and conditions she required in order to get her into this car. And, as if that weren't enough, he and his sales team was kind enough - and honestly, extraordinarily trusting enough - to "hold" the vehicle for an entire week, until we could make the two hour drive to their Long Beach dealership. When we finally did arrive, we had the pleasure and the honor of working with Doug to close the deal. The documents he presented to my mother at the dealership were exactly as they appeared in the preliminary contract that Ruben had forwarded to me a few days earlier, so you can rest assured that whatever prices and terms you are quoted are exactly what you can expect when you close the deal. Doug was extremely courteous, friendly and was an absolute delight to laugh and talk with. He kept the process very light and simple, and his charming personally really created a sense of warmth and welcome in his office space. And I must say that even though we declined two last-minute "extras" that Doug had offered, there was absolutely no pressure - whatsoever - and he respected our decision and didn't continue with the usual "beg, ask, manipulate, pressure, pressure, pressure" sales tactics one might expect. The finance manager is truly an old school kind of gal, and I was truly impressed with how QUICKLY she made the paperwork process move along. We were literally in an out of her office within 5 minutes, and before we knew anything, she was saying: "Congratulations! You just bought yourself a new Hyundai Santa Fe!" She is one of those really amazing, take-no-nonsense, old fashioned sort of personalities that's really refreshing to encounter in this business. We drove nearly two hours in crazy, nightmare, insane Los Angeles traffic...on the 405...during rush hour...on a FRIDAY, just so that we could do business with Harbor Hyundai - and we were not disappointed. I recommend Harbor to anyone and everyone whose interested in buying a new car. There is no pressure, the process is transparent, the staff is very kind and pleasant, and they don't engage in any filthy games or schemes, and most importantly, they are willing to DO THE WORK you ask them to do. If there are specific, but reasonable, conditions or accommodations that you need to have met, make them known and be confident that one of these amazing gentlemen will get it done, or at the very least, they will try. Mark my words - you will most certainly not be disappointed with your experience at Harbor Hyundai!!! More

Doug was patient with my daughter and I as we test drove the car and made our final purchase. Car had been detailed so when we picked it up it was just beautiful. I really appreciated Doug taking the time to explain every detail of the car to my high school daughter so that she knew how all features operated. All of this was done after we purchased the car which is a sign of real customer service. If I am in the market for a Hyundai again; Harbor Hyundai will be the only place I go in Southern California. Since the vehicle needed to stay longer, he also reminded me about the free car rental coupons I received when I purchased my Elantra. Free rental, you are picked up at Hyundai and dropped off back at Hyundai, how awesome is that! Getting my car serviced at Harbor Hyundai has been a surprisingly enjoyable experience. More
