I responded to a CPO 2018 Outback Limited that was available on their website on a Saturday, and booked an appointment for Monday. To their credit, they called me Monday morning to tell me the car ha available on their website on a Saturday, and booked an appointment for Monday. To their credit, they called me Monday morning to tell me the car had been sold, but I went in anyway to check out the used Outbacks in stock. I was a Forester owner. My sale person was Phil Deitch, who happened to also be very familiar with the Forester and was now in an Outback Touring. He took a lot of time with me explaining trims, the differences between Forester and Outback, and was a very genuine, straight talking guy. After searching the inventory, he found another acceptable certified limited, but in searching for the keys, was told it had been sold. Popular car. Getting ready to leave, I (NOT Phil) asked about leasing with the intent to buy. Knowing my parameters, Phil went to investigate that and brought in their finance guy, who worked with me. Bottom line, I am now in a 2021 Outback Limited, with every intention of buying it at lease end for about what I was intending to pay. Phil did not try to upsell me, I led the discussion. He spent a great deal of time with me before we had a deal, and after, when I picked up the car, when he explained all the new features and settings. I couldn't be happier, highly recommend Phil Deitch, particularly if you are looking at pre-owned because I believe that is where he specializes.
